Of 'The Slacker Take-Over Plot' deel LXXXIV

Omdat veel topics over indie bandjes nauwelijks lopen, en dus na 7 posts stilvallen, leek het ons een goed idee om een topic te maken waarin "Indie" centraal staat.

Het begrip indie is natuurlijk wat wazig, maar dat mag geen excuus zijn voor enorme zeurpartijen over wat nou wel indie en wat nou niet indie is. Dat is dan ook helemaal NIET de bedoeling. Als je toch per sé een definitie wil, All Music Guide heeft een redelijk uitgebreide op hun site staan.

Dus praat hier wel over obscure bandjes, nieuwe platen, geziene optredens, geef tips en commentaar, als het maar met "indie" te maken heeft!

Ik heb de ( betere ) albums van Oasis al meerdere kansen gegeven, maar kan er niet veel mee.
Kan er niets aan doen. Ik hoor wel dat het goed in mekaar zit, maar het raakt me op een of andere manier niet.

Ik heb 'n beetje hetzelfde probleem met een band als R.E.M.
Kan die albums ook niet van begin tot eind uitzitten.
( Maar die hebben dan weer wel 'n hoop afzonderlijke tracks ( - vooral het oudere materiaal - ) waar ik graag naar mag luisteren. )

Precies. Beady Eye vind ik dan toch heel pretentieus. Beetje simpele rock-muziek maken en er vanuit gaan, 'omdat je een koning bent', dat het wel goed zal zijn. Zo komt Beady Eye op mij over.

En door de stem alleen al de moeite om te luisteren. Ik luister nu wat opnames van Oasis live in 2000, dat was dra-ma-tisch qua stem :D

Tsja, ontzettend saai eentonig album, Net als de vorige. En pretentieus kan betekenen dat je de wereld denkt te veroveren, maar ook dat je geen flikker hoeft te doen en automatisch goede muziek denkt te maken. Zoiets. En zo komt het bij mij over.

Liam kreeg niet voor niets allemaal bekers naar zijn kop op Pinkpop dat jaar.
