Of 'The Slacker Take-Over Plot' deel LXXVII

Omdat veel topics over indie bandjes nauwelijks lopen, en dus na 7 posts stilvallen, leek het ons een goed idee om een topic te maken waarin "Indie" centraal staat.

Het begrip indie is natuurlijk wat wazig, maar dat mag geen excuus zijn voor enorme zeurpartijen over wat nou wel indie en wat nou niet indie is. Dat is dan ook helemaal NIET de bedoeling. Als je toch per sé een definitie wil, All Music Guide heeft een redelijk uitgebreide op hun site staan.

Dus praat hier wel over obscure bandjes, nieuwe platen, geziene optredens, geef tips en commentaar, als het maar met "indie" te maken heeft!

Godver, ik luister nu weer eens naar Joy Divison. Dat verveelt echt nooit, zeg.
Ik heb die platen letterlijk al honderden keren gehoord, en het klinkt nog steeds fris.

Unknown Pleasures is een geniale plaat.

Joy Division en The Cure zijn vrijwel gelijk begonnen. Hebben ze naar elkaar gekeken of puur toeval? Altijd al afgevraagd....

Nou, ik vind The Cure toch wel iets anders klinken, hoor, Moody.
Joy Divison is toch behoorlijk wat agressiever en energieker.
Ik heb met The Cure ook niet zo heel veel, eerlijk gezegd.

Maar ze hebben natuurlijk wel fantastische platen gemaakt.
( En A Forest is een van de beste nummers van de jaren 80. )

Ja het is geen kopie, maar dat zeg ik ook niet :P

Ze hebben vrij veel van elkaar weg, maar dat kan ook komen door de opkomst van synth-geluid eind jaren '70 (new wave).

Dat is trouwens een tijd waarin ik wel 18 geweest zou willen zijn.......zucht

The Cure heeft heel veel hele goede nummers verspreid over nog veel meer albums. Seventeen Seconds en Pornography zijn wel ijzersterk.
