De hardstyle liefhebbers onder ons
Wat is Hardstyle?
Het gemiddelde tempo ligt tussen de 140 en de 150 beats per minuut. De sound is karakteristiek voor de stijl en kan omschreven worden als donderende beats gecombineerd met overweldigend enthousiaste melodielijnen.
Veel hardcore-artiesten produceren ook hardstyle tracks, die vergelijkbaar klinken maar toegankelijker zijn. Hardstyle wordt in het Verenigd Koninkrijk vaak gecombineerd met hardhouse. In de rest van de wereld echter vindt men vaker de combinatie met hardtrance of hardcore.
Geschiedenis
Eén van de sleutelfiguren in de ontwikkeling van de stijl is Dana van Dreven, ook bekend onder haar dj-alias Dana (DJ Dana). Later volgden meer van haar collega's uit het hardcore-tijdperk zoals Pavo, Darkraver, Luna, Zany en The Prophet.

Misschien leuk om terug te gaan naar de nummers waarmee jij in contact kwam met de 'hardere' dance. Via Rank 1, System F, Dutch Force, Cygnus X en Armin kwam ik rond 2001 terecht bij vage Duitse dansmuziek met een pittigere drive, een wat hoger tempo vol met psychedelische melodietjes.
En wat vond ik het destijds geweldig.
Pas in 2006 (!!!) ontdekte ik hardstyle. Het melodieuze van (hard)trance gecombineerd met stevige kicks en synths van de hardcore. De perfecte middenweg. Lovin' it ever since.

Line-up vind ik maar matig, denk dat ik met kerst niet naar een feestje toe ga meestal geen ruimte om los te gaan ivm de drukte!
Nieuwe plaat van Noisecontrollers heb ik alleen in bagger kwaliteit dat wil je denk ik niet hebben!
