The Defense Procurement Agency has delivered 154 Great Wall Wingle 5 pickup trucks to the military.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that the SUVs were received as a result of procurement in the Prozorro system.

It is noted that the vehicles can carry up to five people and cargo weighing up to one ton.

“They are also capable of towing a trailer weighing 850 kilograms. The body can accommodate up to 4 personnel and additional equipment for weapons,” the Defense Ministry shared.

The tender to purchase pickup trucks had 11 participants. The supplier won with a price of UAH 996 thousand per vehicle, including VAT.

The total value of the contracts is UAH 153 million, of which approximately UAH 40 million is duties, taxes, and fees that will be returned to the country’s budget.

The pickup trucks have all-wheel drive and a 143 horsepower two-liter diesel engine that meets the Euro 4 standard and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called on the Hungarian authorities to maintain cohesion in the European Union, and also emphasized the importance of a united position of Brussels in support of Kyiv, Deutsche Welle reports.

On Monday, Steinmeier visited the Hungarian city of Sopron, where he met with the President of Hungary, Tam�s Sulyok. During the negotiations, the German leader noted that the role of the country currently presiding over the EU Council is to "strengthen unity within the European Union and promote constructive joint solutions for our common future topics."

Steinmeier expressed hope that Hungary "will accept and fulfill this role." In particular, he pointed out the need to adhere to a common line in matters of aid to Ukraine, which is defending itself from Russian aggression.

"We should leave no room for doubt that NATO and the EU are united in their support for Ukraine," the German president said.

The Come Back Alive Foundation, together with Ukrnafta, has delivered a batch of machine guns to the soldiers of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade.

The Foundation reported that 40 FN Minimi machine guns were purchased for the paratroopers of this unit.

Their cost is UAH 25,267,620, and this is not the only contribution of Ukrnafta to arm the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, the Foundation shared.

“Together with Ukrnafta, we have transferred 40 FN Minimi machine guns to the 82nd separate air assault brigade, which is currently participating in an offensive in the Kursk region,” the Come Back Alive Foundation team noted.

Units 1&2 began operation in 2016. The general framework agreement with Rosatom on the construction units 3&4 was signed in 2014 and, in 2017, the engineering division of Rosatom and NPCIL signed an agreement on the construction units 5&6. Work on units 5&6 began in 2021 and the NPP is expected to be operating at full capacity by 2027.

His decision to cooperate with Ukraine was driven by systemic crimes committed by the battalion’s command, including extrajudicial executions, beatings, and extortion.

As part of his cooperation with Ukrainian forces, “Silver” provided valuable intelligence on the location, strength, and intentions of enemy forces on a specific front. In May 2024, he executed a plan involving the throwing of grenades into the ventilation shaft of the battalion’s underground headquarters, where the battalion commander and other officers were sleeping. The explosion resulted in serious injuries to several officers.

Following the operation, “Silver” used a pre-planned escape route to flee and crossed into Ukrainian-controlled territory. He is currently undergoing basic training as a recruit in the Legion “Freedom of Russia.”

The “I Want to Live” project, which facilitates the voluntary surrender of Russian soldiers to Ukrainian forces, reports that there have been over 300 successful surrender operations in nearly two years.

In mei publiceerde Gazprom zijn jaarlijkse financi�le rapport voor 2023, waaruit een verlies van 629 miljard roebel (ongeveer $ 7 miljard tegen de huidige wisselkoers) bleek.

Moeilijk te zeggen. Maar de verwachting voor Oekra�ne (en ook volgens Zelenski zelf) is dat de cijfers beduidend lager liggen. Omdat Oekra�ne vooral aan het verdedigen is op een slimme manier. Terwijl Rusland aan het aanvallen blijft, en soldaten de gehaktmolen in blijft sturen.

Op sommige plekken van het front is het 1 uitgeschakelde Oekra�ner voor 5 uitgeschakelde Russen bijvoorbeeld. En er zijn uitschieters van 1-7 zelfs. Natuurlijk zal het gemiddelde lager liggen.

A man accused of planning to assassinate the Russian-installed head of annexed Crimea has been sentenced to 18 years in prison, Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office announced on Tuesday.

Igor Korchinsky, 35, originally from the Russian-occupied city of Melitopol in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, planned to blow up the car of Russian-installed Crimea head Sergey Aksyonov “under the guidance of a Ukrainian security service officer”, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The officer taught Korchinsky surveillance techniques and how to use explosives in the city of Zaporizhzhia between December 2022 and April 2023, the court said, before Korchinsky allegedly travelled to Crimea to track Aksyonov’s movements and collect an explosive device to attach to his car.

A military court in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don found Korchinsky guilty of undergoing training and preparing to commit a terrorist attack, as well as illegal possession of weapons.

Russia has introduced new drone technology in response to Ukraine’s operation in the Kursk region, utilizing drones guided by fiber optics—immune to radio jamming. This marks the first known use of such weapons in combat.

Ukraine’s advance into the Kursk region was facilitated by an electronic warfare blitz, which effectively disabled Russia’s reconnaissance drones and neutralized their FPV drones. The success of Ukraine’s operation in Kursk required extensive preparation, including the identification of all active frequencies and the deployment of sufficient jamming equipment to temporarily neutralize all drones in the area.

The Russian army has been working on innovative technology to overcome the issue of jamming with wire guidance, where the drone deploys a fiber-optic cable as it moves. This method, akin to the wire-guided missiles like the TOW system, allows the transmission of high-resolution video signals without relying on radio frequencies. As a result, fiber-optic drones can effectively counter assaults that depend on electronic warfare to protect armored vehicles.
