German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier called on the Hungarian authorities to maintain cohesion in the European Union, and also emphasized the importance of a united position of Brussels in support of Kyiv, Deutsche Welle reports.
On Monday, Steinmeier visited the Hungarian city of Sopron, where he met with the President of Hungary, Tams Sulyok. During the negotiations, the German leader noted that the role of the country currently presiding over the EU Council is to "strengthen unity within the European Union and promote constructive joint solutions for our common future topics."
Steinmeier expressed hope that Hungary "will accept and fulfill this role." In particular, he pointed out the need to adhere to a common line in matters of aid to Ukraine, which is defending itself from Russian aggression.

The Come Back Alive Foundation, together with Ukrnafta, has delivered a batch of machine guns to the soldiers of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade.
The Foundation reported that 40 FN Minimi machine guns were purchased for the paratroopers of this unit.
Their cost is UAH 25,267,620, and this is not the only contribution of Ukrnafta to arm the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, the Foundation shared.
“Together with Ukrnafta, we have transferred 40 FN Minimi machine guns to the 82nd separate air assault brigade, which is currently participating in an offensive in the Kursk region,” the Come Back Alive Foundation team noted.

Als ik het zo lees geef ik hem weinig kans dat hem dat gaat lukken. Maar het geeft gelijk wel aan dat Putin niet denkt de invasie binnen een korte periode terug te kunnen dringen. En dat er inderdaad troepen vanaf delen van het front naar Kursk zijn gehaald (behalve dan het Pokrovsk en Toretsk deel van het front, waar hun focus blijft te liggen. Zij hoeven het natuurlijk niet eeuwig vast te houden. Maar zij zijn zich wel aan het ingraven, zijn fortificaties aan het opbouwen en hebben ook luchtafweer en artillerie Kursk binnen gebracht.quote:

Dus voor elke meter die Rusland hen zal terug dringen zal dit hopelijk tegen zulke groot mogelijke kosten gebeuren. En de deadline van Putin van 1 oktober zal sowieso niet gehaald worden. Dus ook dat zal weer een grote nederlaag betekenen voor hem.
Ook ligt het deel onder de rivier voor het oprapen, waardoor ze het bezette gebied bijna kunnen verdubbelen.
Oekrane zal met de inval in Kursk voor het einde van deze week meer grond innemen dan Rusland in 2023 en 2024 (tot nu toe) bij elkaar heeft ingenomen.
Ook is de vraag wat de kosten voor Rusland zullen zijn om Povresk in te kunnen nemen. Want er zitten in elk geval nog twee verdedigingslinies tussen het front en de stad in. En ook de stad zelf zal als verdedigingslinie gebruikt worden natuurlijk.
Het heeft Rusland een week gekost om 2-2.5 kilometer dichter bij de stad te komen. En dat was zonder zware verdedigingslinies.

The customer and operator of the station is the National Power Company of India Ltd (NPCIL), the general contractor is JSC ASE JSC (Rosatom’s Engineering Division), general designer Atomenergoproject and equipment designer OKB Gidropress.
Units 1&2 began operation in 2016. The general framework agreement with Rosatom on the construction units 3&4 was signed in 2014 and, in 2017, the engineering division of Rosatom and NPCIL signed an agreement on the construction units 5&6. Work on units 5&6 began in 2021 and the NPP is expected to be operating at full capacity by 2027.

“Construction of a parallel structure, which also resembles a bridge, is underway near the Kerch Bridge,” the analysts say.
In early August, photos appeared showing builders driving piles for this structure.

According to reports, a 24-year-old Russian FPV pilot with the callsign “Silver” made contact with the Legion “Freedom of Russia” in the winter of 2024. His decision to cooperate with Ukraine was driven by systemic crimes committed by the battalion’s command, including extrajudicial executions, beatings, and extortion.
As part of his cooperation with Ukrainian forces, “Silver” provided valuable intelligence on the location, strength, and intentions of enemy forces on a specific front. In May 2024, he executed a plan involving the throwing of grenades into the ventilation shaft of the battalion’s underground headquarters, where the battalion commander and other officers were sleeping. The explosion resulted in serious injuries to several officers.
Following the operation, “Silver” used a pre-planned escape route to flee and crossed into Ukrainian-controlled territory. He is currently undergoing basic training as a recruit in the Legion “Freedom of Russia.”
The “I Want to Live” project, which facilitates the voluntary surrender of Russian soldiers to Ukrainian forces, reports that there have been over 300 successful surrender operations in nearly two years.
