The vote on the GOP bill was 44 in favor and 49 against. The House Democratic bill failed on a vote of 46-to-48. Sixty votes were needed for either piece of legislation to advance.

It’s unclear how Congress and the administration will move forward to revive the emergency package, and the impasse risks indefinitely delaying disaster funding nationwide amid partisan sniping. Support for disaster aid is often bipartisan on Capitol Hill, but the dispute over this legislation has become increasingly bitter, despite the evident need.

On Tuesday night, the police said in a statement that the area where Smollett said the attack occurred had “very high density of city and private surveillance cameras.” Detectives had viewed hundreds of hours of video but “unfortunately, thus far we have not found any helpful information on a suspect or a suspect’s vehicle to be able to share,” the statement said. Wat cijfers over haatmisdrijven in de VS.

Zoals je ziet staat er geen feitelijk onjuist informatie in het artikel en is het verder ook niet opiniërend. Men spreekt zich niet uit over de juistheid van claims die gedaan worden door vermeend slachtoffer en politie.
Daar zit natuurlijk ook het verschil met een Fox News, waar men vol in de opiniërende aanval gaat in dit soort gevallen.
Ik snap dat dat onderscheid voor mensen lastig is, maar het is wel cruciaal als je je wilt ontwikkelen tot kritische mediaconsument in plaats van hokjesdenkend schaapje.
