Iets na 18 uur Nederlandse tijd is Gadhafi gestopt met een bizarre speech. Er was geen rode lijn te ontdekken in de speech. Hij heeft gezegd dat hij nog niet heeft gekozen voor geweld, maar dat hij daar niet voor terug zal deinzen mocht het nodig zijn. Verder heeft hij ongeveer de hele wereld vervloekt, een gedicht voorgelezen, gesproken over zijn voorouders en over Russische geschiedenis. Gadhafi maakt zich ook zorgen om de demonstranten omdat de drugs die ze zouden hebben genomen slecht is voor hun hart.
Ook leek het erop dat Gadhafi zijn plannen uit de doeken heeft gedaan om de continenten Afrika en Zuid-Amerika te veroveren. De vanuit een bunker sprekende leider van Libi heeft verder gezegd alle hervormingseisen van de demonstranten in te zullen willigen en dat zijn zoon daar later meer over zal zeggen. Het lijkt er echter op dat ook deze laatste zin met een korreltje zout moet worden genomen. Tot slot heeft Gadhafi belooft niet weg te zullen gaan uit Libi. Hij heeft aangegeven bereid te zijn alles te doen om zijn tegenstanders te verslaan.

Khadaffi had Saif vijf jaar geleden al in het zadel moeten helpen.
Het model van Khadaffi had na hervorming misschien daar best goed kunnen werken. Zeker na wat meer democratie hierin.
Saif al-Islam was dan DE man geweest om Libie verder te helpen naar een meer democratisch gezind en meer Wester gezinde natie.
Maar, na hem gezien en gehoord te hebben twee dagen geleden, denk ik niet dat de man hoog-intelligent is, eerder tamelijk intelligent in combinatie met hoog-bezeten, daemonisch ; eigenlijk net als papa, not yet showing his papa's extreme, but utterly capable in it. Het extreme was duidelijk te horen in zijn discours.
Zijn promotie in de LSE is in de eerste plaats een politiek geinspireerd kado, shame on the LSE, maar dat gebeurt, daar zit geen academische noblesse of waarde in.

of the Libyan revolution of the 17 Feb. it is possible that this
person is working fo the regime and sending out false information to

exagorated information to discredit them at a later date
Sola ElBelazee called aljazera on the day the Libyan Government flew
the Military Planes over Tripoli and he told the worldthat the planes
were F16 and are israili plans ad are bombing Tripoli. this turned out
to be wrong and it was a cover for the masicer the security forces
were commiting in the main street of Aljonhoria in Tripoli.
Sola Elbelazee called aljazera today to tell them that there are tanks
on there way from Sorman to Zawia 20 min away. the whole town went
into a state of alert and there was nothing even after 4 hours.
Sola Albelazee aims at disturbing the population in the west of Libya
so that the government forces can get a grip on Tripoli becouse they
dont have enough forces to cover all the areas in the west of tripoli
The other reason Fo the named Sola ElBelazee to spread roumers through
AlJazera is to carry out the plan of Gadhafi to discredit AlJazera and
stop the world from following its news on Libya.
Sola ElBelazee is one of the few that are able to call aljazeraa from
Libya. only people with satelite phones are able to call the numbers
of Aljazeraa with ease.
I'm asking you to think of all this and then decide if it's a must to
call aljazeera and alert them about this "Sola ElBelazee" or just
don't!

The UAE and Libya have agreed to set up a joint investment fund with a paid up capital of Dh11 billion to carry out projects in the two Arab countries, a Libyan official was quoted on Thursday as saying.
Jamal Al Lammouchi, General Secretary of the Directive Committee of the General Board of Privatization and Investment, said the fund would be equally shared between the two countries and would take advantage of massive investment opportunities arising from ongoing privatization in Libya.
Quoted by the semi-official daily Al Ittihad, he said Libya is also seeking UAE expertise in managing its new Tripoli airport and is ready to discuss with Dubai World its possible management of ports in the North African Arab nation.
He said the investment fund and other projects were discussed during the recent visit by UAE minister of economy Sultan Al Mansouri to Libya.
The talks focused on ways to expand our economic links and the agreement to set up that fund was the first major move in this direction, he said.
The investment projects to be carried out by that fund would be in both countries according to the needs of each country.
Lammouchi, who spoke during an investment seminar in Dubai, said 29 Libyan public enterprises to be privatized would be presented to UAE businessmen for investment, covering farming, industry, hospitality, tourism, and transport. He said around 50 per cent of these projects would be sold to the public while the rest would be equally shared by the government and their employees.
Lammouchi also revealed plans by Libya, a key OPEC oil producer, to invest a staggering $200 billion in infrastructure projects, including $100 billion to be spent until 2012. The second investment programme will start in 2013, making Libya one of the largest investors in infrastructure.
He said Libya has strong ties with the UAE but added their trade relations are below the available resources.
He urged UAE businessmen to benefit from investment opportunities in Libya, noting that his country aims to attract between $six billion and $12 billion foreign direct investment into real estate, trade, transport, construction and other sectors.

The National Council for Youth (NCY) began on Tuesday distributing 150,000 laptops on Libyan youth who are members of the council.
The National Committee for Volunteers, an organization belongs to NCY, is carrying out the distribution of these laptops to youths in all Libyan regions, the Libyan news agency JANA reported.
During the first phase, the council is planning to distribute 10,000 laptops. The first to received these laptops took place in southern, eastern and western Libya.
The Libyan Company for Planning and Urban Development said it has coordinated with NCY the preparing of lands to be used for youth housing in all provinces to be distributed on young people.
It also said it has already begun distributing pieces of land of 505 hectares on youths in Enjeela area, 30 km west of Tripoli.
The company said its goal is to dedicate 900 hectares in Tripoli and surrounding areas, 200 hectares in Sirte, 90 hecctares in Sebha, 40 hectares in Zwara and 55 hectares in Juffra.
The land pieces are divided into 500, 400 and 350 meters.

Het geweldige Libische volk verzamelt zich voor grote optochten, om de Leider te ondersteunen na zijn speech gericht aan de jongeren op het Groene Plein.
Het leger kan voor bescherming zorgen, net zoals in bijv. Egypte. Bijkomend voordeel is dat het leger ook nog getrained is in de omgang met die wapens. Die zijn dan in staat om Ghadaffi af te zetten, maar een stel woedende demonstranten die in het rond schieten zijn juist een perfect doelwit voor de loyalisten van Ghadaffi.quote:

Saddam Hussein heeft kort voor de oorlog ook allemaal wapens aan de bevolking zitten uitdelen, wat voor ellende dat na de oorlog heeft veroorzaakt kan daar direct mee in verband gebracht worden.quote:

Voor de rest, zie boven, het leger is veel geschikter om die vuurwapens te gebruiken om Ghadaffi af te zetten.
Ja, laten we vooral het risico lopen dat onderliggende sluimerende conflicten binnen Libie meteen de beschikking krijgen over bewapening, want dat voorkomt uiteraard veel problemen na deze situatie met Ghadaffi.quote:
