Weeds,
komedie serie over een drugs dealende "desperate housewive"
Veronica Mars,
leuke mix tussen high school en detective serie
The Wire,
misschien wel de beste politie/misdaad serie ooit.

quote:ABC Gives 2008-09 Pick-Ups to Nine Shows
'Pushing Daisies,' 'Dirty Sexy Money,' 'Lost,' 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Desperate Housewives' are among those returning
February 11, 2008
ABC has picked up nine of its most successful scripted shows for the 2008-09 season, including first-year offerings "Pushing Daisies," "Private Practice," "Samantha Who?" and "Dirty Sexy Money."
In addition to those four new shows, ABC gave no-brainer early pick-ups to "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "Lost," "Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters."
"The strength of our schedule this fall was unprecedented and speaks for itself," says Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. "We're looking forward to building on that success."
None of ABC's pick-ups can be considered a real surprise and a number of programs on the network's schedule remain currently unrenewed, including freshman drama "Women's Murder Club," the Emmy-winning "Boston Legal" and "Men in Trees," which still has an unholy number of unaired episodes in the can.
A more interesting question isn't which ABC shows will be back next season, but which ABC shows will be back with new episodes later this season.
With the writers strike finally at an end, networks will have to decide which shows will be put back into production to yield fresh installments later in the spring and which will just hold off for next fall. It's expected, for example, that ABC will get new episodes of "Samantha Who?" but that "Private Practice," "Pushing Daisies" and "Dirty Sexy Money" are all done for this season. Also expected to shoot new episodes are "Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "Ugly Betty," "Boston Legal" and "Brothers & Sisters."
Thus far, there's no word on the fate of "Cavemen" and "According to Jim."

'Gossip Girl,' 'Reaper,' 'Supernatural' and others will return
February 15, 2008
The CW may be saying goodbye to "Girlfriends", "WWE SmackDown!" and "CW Now," but several of its shows will return with all-new episodes now that the Writers' Strike has ended.
The networks announced Friday, Feb. 15 that six of its shows will once again go into production in order to air new episodes this spring, while two other shows already have episodes in the can.
"The Game" will return in late March with the most episodes, while "One Tree Hill," "Smallville," "Gossip Girl," "Reaper" and "Supernatural" will poke up their heads in April.
"Everybody Hates Chris" shot and completed episodes early, so its remaining 12 original ones will begin airing March 3. Similarly, its fellow sitcom "Aliens in America" has eight original episodes done that will air March 2-23 and April 27-18.
The CW already has some fresh material on the horizon. "Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious" debuts on Monday, Feb. 18, and two days later on the Wednesday the 20th, the tenth cycle of "America's Next Top Model" premieres. In addition, the next wave of social experimenters will return with "Beauty and the Geek" on Tuesday, March 11.

'Office,' others set for April; 'Chuck,' 'Life,' 'Heroes' return in fall
February 13, 2008
"The Office" is re-opening in April. So are "Scrubs," "ER" and "30 Rock."
Fans of "Heroes," "Chuck" and "Life," however, will have to wait until fall 2008 to see those shows. The good news, though, is that viewers are assured of seeing them.
NBC announced its post-strike plans late Wednesday afternoon, targeting early and mid-April for the return of seven of its scripted series, including all four of its Thursday-night comedies. "ER," "Law & Order: SVU" and the original "Law & Order" will also have new episodes ready to go then.
Additionally, the network has picked up "Heroes," "Chuck" and "Life" for the 2008-09 season, saying that all three shows will get "major re-launch campaigns" in the fall.
"We are thrilled to be bringing back the high-energy dramas 'Chuck' and Life' for next season," NBC co-chairman Ben Silverman says. "Additionally, we will be saving and re-launching our No. 1 drama and most successful franchise, 'Heroes,' so that it will run in all original episodes in the fourth quarter."
NBC makes no mention of "Friday Night Lights," "Journeyman" and "Bionic Woman" in its spring plans. All have wrapped production on their seasons, and there's no word yet on potential for next season.
"My Name Is Earl" will be the first scripted show back on NBC; it returns with a one-hour episode on Thursday, April 3. Its fellow comedies, along with "ER," are set to return the following week. Each of the Thursday shows save for "Scrubs" will produce new episodes, but for now the hospital comedy, which is in its final season, will use only pre-strike episodes.
"SVU" resumes April 15, and "Law & Order," which still has a handful of pre-strike episodes on hand, will have more new cases on Wednesday, April 23. "Medium" will continue its current run on Monday nights.
Here's a rundown of the return dates:
Thursday, April 3: "My Name Is Earl" (one-hour episode)
Thursday, April 10: "30 Rock," "The Office," "Scrubs" and "ER"
Tuesday, April 15: "Law & Order: SVU"
Wednesday, April 23: "Law & Order"

'How I Met Your Mother,' 'Two and a Half Men' back in March; most dramas in April
February 13, 2008
CBS is the first network out of the gate with its post-strike lineup, one that will bring nearly all of its scripted series -- from "CSI" to "How I Met Your Mother" -- back to the airwaves.
The network will gradually rebuild its regular lineup, starting with the Monday comedies "HIMYM," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men," which are set to return Monday, March 17. Dramas will move back into their spots over the following three weeks, with "CSI: Miami" the first to return on Monday, March 24.
All the returning shows will produce at least four new episodes, and in the case of the Monday comedies as many as nine (the exception being "Rules of Engagement," which will air four new episodes in April and May after "Old Christine" finishes its run). "CSI: Miami" will produce eight new shows, while "NCIS" and "Criminal Minds" will do seven apiece.
There's no word on "The Unit," which is on hiatus while CBS airs a winter run of "Big Brother," or "Cane," which completed its initial 13-episode run in December. "Shark" will go back into production for four episodes, but its return date isn't nailed down. The new drama "Swingtown," which hasn't been scheduled yet, will also resume production

While 'Big Bang Theory,' all three 'CSIs' and 'Ghost Whisperer' are safe, but what about 'Moonlight' and 'HIMYM'?
February 14, 2008
Late Thursday (Feb. 14) afternoon, CBS gave Valentine's Day gift to freshman comedy "The Big Bang Theory," plus 10 other scripted hits.
The network announced that 11 of its most successful shows, including eight of the 20 top-rated scripted offerings on television, will be back for the 2008-09 season. Joining "The Big Bang Theory" on the pick-up front are "Cold Case," "Criminal Minds," all three shows in the "CSI" franchise, "Ghost Whisperer," "NCIS," "Numb3rs," "Two and a Half Men" and "Without a Trace."
The network had previously ordered another installment of "The Amazing Race," plus two more seasons of "Survivor."
None of those renewals is particularly surprising, as most of the shows represent the foundation of CBS' long run as TV's most-watched network.
CBS also announced on Thursday that even if other networks are feeling doubts about how to handle the upfronts season this year, The Eye will hold a presentation for advertisers on Wednesday, May 14 at Carnegie Hall. The may turn out to be Judgment Day for fans of a number of currently unrenewed shows.
Among the shows that remain in limbo are beloved Monday comedy "How I Met Your Mother," slightly less beloved Monday comedy "Rules of Engagement," the James Wood drama "Shark" "The Unit" and cult vampire favorite "Moonlight." All of those shows (except possibly for "The Unit") are being brought back into production and will return in March and April for new episodes likely to determine their eventual fate. Presumably the network's schedule will still have room for several of those shows.
Also on uncertain footing is "Jericho," which was brought back from the dead after a fan campaign, but delivered middling returns in its Tuesday return. "Jericho" has finished shooting its mini-season, but six episodes have yet to air.

ABC also announces returns for 'Desperate Housewives,' 'Ugly Betty'
February 20, 2008
ABC will close the 2007-08 season with several new episodes of its most popular scripted shows, including "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost."
The network announced its post-strike plans Wednesday afternoon, becoming the last of the big broadcasters to slot the return of its scripted series. Seven shows are going back into production and will air between four and seven new episodes each starting in April. (The network also has new seasons of "Dancing with the Stars" and "The Bachelor" debuting Monday, March 17.)
First up is the comedy "Samantha Who?," which will return for six episodes on Monday, April 7, in the post-"Dancing" spot that served it well in the fall. "Boston Legal" airs the first of six new shows the following night.
Also returning are "Brothers & Sisters" on Sunday, April 20 and "Ugly Betty" on Thursday, April 24. "Grey's Anatomy" and "Lost," which will move from 9 to 10 p.m., also come back on the 24th; all three Thursday shows will have five new episodes. "Lost" fans will have to wait about a month between the final pre-strike episode and the debut of the new installments.
"Desperate Housewives," meanwhile, will squeeze in seven new hours of shooting, including a two-hour season finale. Its first episode back is scheduled for Sunday, April 13.
The pre-strike Wednesday lineup of "Pushing Daisies," "Private Practice" and "Dirty Sexy Money" won't be back this spring, but ABC has picked up all three series for the 2008-09 season.
Geen 24 dus, al was dat geen nieuws meerquote:FOX Announces April Return for 'House'
'House' is set to begin post-strike production along with 'Back to You,' ''Til Death' and 'Bones'
February 19, 2008
FOX has added original episodes of "Bones," Back to You," "'Til Death" and "House" to a spring schedule already loaded with fresh series premieres.
The network announced Tuesday (Feb. 19) that those four returning shows will return to production for new episodes (exact numbers to be determined) in April and May. In addition, "24" will go back to shooting its seventh season, though that Emmy-winning drama won't return until Jan. 2009, when it can stick to tradition by airing 24 consecutive episodes.
The move that's bound to interest the greatest number of viewers is the shift of "House" to Monday nights. The medical drama will have its time period premiere on Monday, April 21 with an encore episode at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the first of an unspecified original post-strike episodes premiering the following week. FOX had already announced plans to air repeats on "House" on Mondays through the summer.
"House" will be paired with "Bones," which was already set to take the Monday 8 p.m. slot starting on April 14. The forensic series had a number of episodes in the can already and will shoot new ones as well.
The return of "House" means that FOX is moving up the premiere of " Canterbury's Law." Already on its third or fourth different premiere date and time slot, "Law" will now premiere on Monday, March 10 at 8 p.m.
The comedies "Back to You" and "'Til Death" will also stagger back onto the air in the weeks to come. With "Back to You," the network was already set to air original episodes on Tuesday, Feb. 26 and Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the post-"Idol" 9:30 p.m. slots. The series will then vanish until Wednesday, April 16, when it will have its 8:30 p.m. time slot premiere, beginning a run of new episodes. Wednesday, April 16 will also be the time period premiere for "'Til Death" in the 8 p.m. slot, but the comedy will air an isolated new episode on Tuesday, March 25 at 9:30 p.m.
In addition, FOX still has "Unhitched" (March 2), "New Amsterdam" (preview 03/04, time period premiere March 10), "The Return of Jezebel James" (March 14) and a new season of "Hell's Kitchen" (April 1) premiering this spring.
FOX also announced that the animated comedies "American Dad," "Family Guy" and "The Simpsons" are resuming production.
