OSINT researcher MT_Anderson published new satellite images of the 23rd arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, located near the village of Oktyabrsky in Tver Oblast. The images show the destruction of more than 58 warehouse buildings, several open ammunition yards, as well as damage to railroad tracks and destruction of ammunition trains.

On September 21, a LIGA.net source in the Security Service of Ukraine reported that drones of the agency hit an arsenal in Tver Oblast with artillery ammunition and missiles for the Iskander and Tochka-U systems.

Fresh satellite images show that significant destruction affected the northern part of the depot. More than 58 warehouse buildings and several outdoor areas were destroyed or severely damaged. The ammunition loading area on railway platforms was also damaged.

According to OSINT analysts, ammunition trains were on site at the time of the strike.

Having already led an organised crime group that gunned down two businessmen in 2013, Dmitry Malyshev’s criminal career took an even more sinister turn in 2014 when he killed a 46-year-old Tajik man with whom he had been drinking after the pair had an argument. Not only did Malyshev hit his drinking buddy over the head four times, he cut out his heart, fried it and ate it, filming the entire process.

Despite being found guilty of murder and cannibalism and sentenced to 25 years in jail in 2015, Malyshev was released in 2023 after signing a contract with the Defence Ministry, V1.ru reported in May.

Malyshev told reporters that a desire to preserve Russia’s “traditional values” had led him to enlist to fight in Ukraine. “What would you do if someone taught your daughter how to put a condom on properly at primary school? Or you saw men walking down the street kissing each other?” Malyshev asked.

Mayor of Rakhina Fyodor Kadovba confirmed that Malyshev had returned to his hometown after being wounded in Ukraine. “He was wounded earlier in the year too. … He told me he‘d return to the front line once he’d recovered,” he added.

Vuhledar praten we nu over.

Vanuit staroimaorske (1vd dorpen bevrijd tijdens het tegenoffensief vorig jaar) dat nu weer door russen is ingenomen zijn ze ook weer verder aan het gaan.

Zelfs bij kherson nemen ze langzaam aan alle eilandjes weer in.

MOSCOW, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Russian forces have begun storming the eastern Ukrainian town of Vuhledar, a stronghold that has resisted Russian attack since the beginning of the 2022 war, according to Russian war bloggers and state media.

Russian forces in eastern Ukraine advanced at their fastest rate in two years in August, according to multiple open source maps, even though a Ukrainian incursion into Russia's Kursk region sought to force Moscow to divert troops.

President Vladimir Putin has said Russia's primary tactical goal is currently to take the whole of the Donbas region in south-eastern Ukraine. Russia controls just under a fifth of Ukraine, including about 80% of the Donbas.

Russian forces have been pushing westwards at key points along some 150 km (93 miles) of the front in the Donetsk region, with the logistics hub of Pokrovsk a key target. They captured nearby Ukrainsk on Sept. 17 and were now entering the hilltop town of Vuhledar, about 80 km (50 miles) south of Pokrovsk.

"Russian units have entered Vuhledar - the storm of the town has begun," said Yuri Podolyaka, a Ukrainian-born, pro-Russian military blogger. Multiple pro-Russian war bloggers confirmed the attack.

Russia's defence ministry said its forces had defeated Ukrainian units at a series of settlements including Vuhledar, which Russians call Ugledar, and that the Eastern Grouping of Russian forces had improved their tactical positions. It gave no further details on Vuhledar.

Unverified video on Russian state media showed Vuhledar, which had a population of over 14,000 before the war, under heavy artillery and aerial bombardment.

Vuhledar's military administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Ukrainian Security Council's Centre for Countering Disinformation, said Russia's use of guided aerial bombs had helped it to advance in the area.

"(Vuhledar) used to be easy to defend, it is on high ground. But with the active arrival of guided aerial bombs at the front, the enemy managed to destroy it and move to the flank," Kovalenko said. "Guided aerial bombs and aviation are the only things that allow the enemy infantry to move."

Separately, Ukraine's Deep State open-source intelligence analysts said on Telegram that Russian troops were trying to encircle Vuhledar and had been pummeling it with artillery and guided bombs.

WAR

The Russian advance westwards comes at a crucial turning point in the war.

Ukraine is seeking to win greater Western involvement in the war by securing permission to use U.S., British and French missiles for strikes into Russia, a step Putin has said would mean the West was fighting Russia directly.

U.S. Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns cautioned in April that if the West failed to give more assistance to Ukraine, then its forces would suffer more defeats on the battlefield - a development he said would embolden the West's competitors around the world.

Neither side gives convincing casualty figures for their losses, though the Wall Street Journal reported this month that about one million Ukrainians and Russians had been killed or wounded in the war.

The relatively swift westward advance of Russia's forces - which have a numerical advantage over Ukraine - has involved encircling towns and forcing often exhausted Ukrainian troops to withdraw.

"I think that a gradual withdrawal from positions there is inevitable, given the developing trends," Kyiv-based military analyst Oleksandr Musienko said on Tuesday, adding that Vuhledar had fulfilled its role in defence of the eastern front.

Ik zag net bij Balkan Mapper de laatste ingelaste update.
Vanuit het oosten hebben de Russen ten noordwesten van Voehledar de hoofdweg naar Bovoyavlenka al bereikt.
En in het oosten van Voehledar zelf zijn de Russen al bij de eerste gebouwen.
De enige uitweg voor de Oekra�ners is via landweggetjes in het noorden deze plaats uit te gaan. Ik denk dat het niet meer met voertuigen kan, maar dat ze vannacht stilletjes per voet moeten proberen te ontsnappen om de complete omsingeling voor te zijn.

En misschien laten de plaatselijke Russen ook nog wel een terugtrekking van de Oekra�ners toe
