Details: The lack of funding is due to a ban on additional military aid to Ukraine amid budget negotiations within the government coalition.

Yandex is Russia’s biggest search engine which in 2021 was said to handle around 60 percent of all internet search traffic in the country and could handle an even higher proportion following limitations placed on Western search engines since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Verontrustend
Zo sneed het Amerikaanse leger v��r de Russische invasie in Oekra�ne niet alleen flink in de jaarlijkse uitgaven aan kogels en granaten, de vervanging van de verouderde Amerikaanse artillerieproductiefaciliteit in Virginia door een moderne faciliteit met een veel hogere capaciteit liep tien jaar vertraging op, terwijl de kosten bijna verdubbelden. Te weinig, te laat
President Joe Biden tekende in april een veiligheidswet waardoor de productie van 152 mm artilleriegranaten vervijfvoudigde. Maar Rusland slaagde er volgens Russische staatsbronnen in om de productie van zijn 152mm Krasnopol-M2 artillerie precisiegeleide granaten met een factor 20 op te voeren. Ter illustratie: waar de Amerikaanse munitieproducenten in 1980 maandelijks nog 438.000 patronen van de band lieten rollen, daar is het nu de ambitie van het Amerikaanse leger om tegen het einde van 2025 maandelijks 100.000 granaten af te leveren. Samenvattend: als alles volgens plan verloopt, kunnen de Verenigde Staten en hun NAVO-bondgenoten tegen het einde van 2025 jaarlijks bijna 2 miljoen 155mm granaten produceren. Dit lijkt indrukwekkend, maar de totale Russische productie van artilleriegranaten ligt op jaarlijks drie miljoen patronen.

Hoewel Fredenburg geen exacte gegevens heeft over de productie van de kanonnen zelf, stelt hij wel dat de Russische productie die van het Westen overklast 'door zijn zeer grote fabrieken uit het Sovjettijdperk 24/7 te laten draaien om munitie, voertuigen en andere militaire goederen te produceren'.

Onwil
Dat het Westen niet veel meer werk maakt van de productie wijt Fredenburg enerzijds aan het feit dat het Westen geen existenti�le strijd levert op leven en dood (zoals Rusland het zelf ziet), en anderzijds aan de onwil van westerse partijen om 'de status-quo van defensieaankopen' te verstoren. Ja, de Russische dreiging is groot, betoogt Fredenburg, maar het is 'niet zo'n grote dreiging dat het gerechtvaardigd is om de status-quo die defensieaannemers hebben gecre�erd te verstoren - een status-quo die elk jaar minder geld oplevert, maar wel recordwinsten en -inkomsten genereert'.

In a post on Telegram, Oleshchuk published a video showing what he described as a "precise" air strike on the structure.

"Minus one more bridge!" he added.

Though he did not state exactly where the bridge is located, the Russian Telegram channel Mash said it was a bridge over the Seim River near the village of Zvannoye.

It also claimed U.S.-supplied HIMARS missiles were used in the attack.

The Kyiv Independent could not verify the claims.

The press service of the 80th Air Assault Brigade published an interview with the soldier.

The tank was captured during one of the raiding operations of the 80th Air Assault Brigade behind enemy lines, where they were supposed to clear enemy positions.

During this operation, the military spotted a T-90M Proryv tank, which one of the Russian soldiers tried to start but failed.

• In the Vremivka direction, the enemy launched four offensive actions toward Vuhledar, Rozdolne, and Vodiane. One battle is still ongoing.

• In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy was unsuccessful in three attempts to breach the defensive lines of Ukrainian units.

No changes have been reported in other directions.

The General Staff also recognized the soldiers of the 100th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi, who were effectively destroying the enemy, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment.

Over the past day, Russian army losses at the front amounted to 1,170 soldiers. In total, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has lost approximately 599,350 military personnel. Additionally, during the night of August 17 to 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed seven tanks and 71 enemy artillery systems.

Russian corporate databases also show that SLB registered two new trademarks in July 2024.

SLB announced in July 2023 that it would immediately stop all shipments of products and technology from its facilities into Russia in response to growing sanctions on the Russian oil industry. In their announcement, SLB joined "the international community in condemning and calling for an end to the war in Ukraine."

Russian customs filings show that while SLB did stop importing supplies from its facilities abroad, it continued to import products and technology from other sources. Of $17.5 million in equipment shipped between August and December 2023, $2.2 million was declared to have originally been manufactured by SLB.

Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has labeled SLB an "international sponsor of war" for its continued business in Russia.

It also marks the first time that foreign troops have seized Russian territory since World War II.

That report "partially coheres with a report that Russian forces had redeployed up to 11 battalions to the front line in Kursk Oblast as of August 11," the ISW said.

"Russian forces have redeployed additional forces to Kursk Oblast since the first week of the Ukrainian incursion and have likely redeployed more than 5,000 personnel to Kursk Oblast overall," the ISW added. The think tank said that exact amount of manpower and material Putin will need in Kursk will depend on how heavily Zelensky's troops defend the newly captured settlements.

→ 26 VECTOR reconnaissance drones (288 in total);
→ material for explosive ordnance disposal;
→ six engineer excavators;
→ one armoured recovery vehicle Bergepanzer 2 with spare parts (22 in total);
→ 55,000 first-aid kits (655,000 in total);
→ 700 MK 556 assault rifles (3125 in total);
→ 10 HLR 338 sniper rifles (250 in total);
→ 50 CR 308 rifles (total 531).

The German Finance Ministry does not plan to approve additional aid to Ukraine as part of budget savings, the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung claims. Ukraine will receive aid in the amounts previously approved, but additional applications from the German Ministry of Defense will not be approved.

In 2024, military aid to Ukraine from Germany should amount to 8 billion euros and is already planned in advance. The limit will be reduced to 4 billion euros in 2025, to 3 billion euros in 2026, and to 500 million euros in 2027 and 2028.

After several hits from the kamikaze drones, the Russian self-propelled howitzer caught fire, which was recorded on video by a Ukrainian drone.

Another Russian Msta-S self-propelled howitzer was recently hit in the temporarily occupied Avdiivka.

Lal said the conflict in Ukraine would also be discussed, and reiterated that New Delhi was willing to provide any support it can in pursuit of peace.

"Lasting peace can only be achieved through options that are acceptable to both parties. And it can only be a negotiated settlement," he said.

Zelenskiy's office said he and Modi would discuss bilateral and multilateral cooperation and that a "number of documents" were expected to be signed.

India has traditionally had close economic and defence ties with Moscow and refrained from criticising Russia over its invasion. It has increased purchases of Russian oil to record levels, saying it must protect its own national interest first.

The prospect of India mediating to help end the war in Ukraine has been raised in diplomatic circles from time to time but New Delhi has appeared cagey, saying only that it is willing to offer any support to resolve the conflict peacefully.

To obtain intelligence, the traitor used his own official position, and exploited his colleagues who were unaware of his criminal intentions.

The ring supervisor engaged in the espionage work his father, also a former cop.

The Danish government has announced a new aid package worth about DKK 783 million ($116 million) to support Ukraine’s military needs.

The press service of the Danish government said that this package was aimed at meeting both short-term and long-term defense needs of Ukraine.

The main funds will be directed to the purchase of new military equipment from the Ukrainian defense industry and international partners.

“Putin continues his brutal and bloody attacks on Ukrainians. It is very important that Denmark continues to support Ukraine so that it can defend itself,” Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said.

He emphasized that this twentieth military aid package had been drawn up taking into account the wishes and needs of Ukraine and would be useful both in the near future and in the future.

Denmark has been providing military assistance to Ukraine since the first days of the war and is constantly preparing new aid packages.

In July, it became known that by the end of that summer, the Ukrainian army would receive 14 Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks purchased by the Netherlands and Denmark as part of military aid.

Ukrainian aircraft hit command and observation posts, and a hangar with military equipment.

Encirclement of the Glushkovsky district
The village of Tyotkino is currently outside the operational area of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. However, it may soon find itself in an operational environment.

The Russian Glushkovsky district, which includes this and a number of other settlements, borders Ukraine to the south and west. The left bank of the district is connected to the right bank by three bridges along the Seim River and has a land “corridor” in the east, which is already partially controlled by the Ukrainian military.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force recently destroyed two of the three crossings over the Seim River in the villages of Glushkove and Zvannoye with precision bombs.

The Russians are trying to respond quickly to the threat. On August 13, OSINT researcher moklasen discovered a pontoon crossing of the Seim River near the village of Glushkovo on fresh satellite images.

Yet another Ukrainian unit has joined the country’s invasion of Russia’s Kursk Oblast. On Sunday, the Ukrainian marine corps’ 501st Marine Battalion announced its presence in the city, in a video depicting marines tearing down a Russian flag “in one of the settlements of Kursk.”

The battalion’s 400 or so marines “are at the forefront of combat missions,” the unit stated. But that wasn’t always the case. The 501st Battalion has an unfortunate history of avoiding combat. In that sense, the Kursk campaign is an opportunity for redemption.

The 501st Marine Battalion was part of the Ukrainian garrison in Crimea when Russian troops invaded the strategic peninsula in 2014. As outgunned Ukrainian forces fled the peninsula, just 64 of the 501st Marine Battalion’s personnel joined them. The others—potentially hundreds in all—voluntarily stayed in Crimea, effectively siding with the peninsula’s Russian occupiers.

The Ukrainian defense ministry rebuilt the 501st Marine Battalion. Eight years later, in the early months of Russia’s wider invasion of Ukraine, the battalion joined the garrison in Mariupol on the Black Sea coast.

Russian troops laid siege to Mariupol, ruthlessly starving and bombing the city’s garrison as well as its civilian population. The main garrison—more than 2,000 strong—held out for three months, eventually falling back to the Azovstal steel plant before finally surrendering in late May 2022 when food, ammunition and medicine ran out.

The 501st Marine Battalion was not among the final holdouts. Instead, it gave up six weeks earlier during the first week of April.

By this summer, the unit was in Kharkiv Oblast in the north, defending the town of Vovchansk from a major—and ongoing—Russian incursion.

The 501st Marine Battalion apparently traveled the 100 miles between Vovchansk and Kursk last week, as the Ukrainian invasion corps extended its control past the town of Sudzha, six miles from the Russia-Ukraine border.

With the battalion’s arrival, the invasion force now includes troops from the army, the air assault force, the territorials and the marines. The marines might have the most to prove.
