Verder was het in het vorige Congress natuurlijk zo dat als ze tegen zouden stemmen en het hun stem was wat het verschil zou maken, dat een voorstel uberhaupt niet eens ingediend zou worden.
Collins is bovendien Senator uit een D+3 staat en moet dus grof gezegd democraten voor zich zien te winnen als ze nog eens een gooi wil doen (of het maakt niet uit als niet) en Murkowski heeft ooit haar primary verloren in Alaska en won daarna alsnog van de Republikein, op basis van write-in's (dan kruizen ze niet een hokje aan, maar schrijven ze de naam)... die hoeft dus niet echt rekening te houden met de malle fratsen van McConnell.
Zou trouwens niet per se spreken over hoop oid, maar meer dat ALS bepaalde senatoren bereid zijn te breken van de lijn, dan zijn dit waarschijnlijk de eersten.

Vraag mij vooral af hoe je je met goed fatsoen kunt verzetten tegen het oproepen van Bolton als getuige. Uit de verhoren in het HvA bleek immers dat hij dichtbij het vuur zat en tekst en uitleg kan geven over wat er precies is voorgevallen.
