The URCC, the Philippines' top MMA promotion, hosted URCC Baguio 3: "Invasion" this past weekend. It had a good line-up of fights, but as you can see pictured above, most of the attention was stolen by a scuffle.

Razi Jabbari was already banned from competing in the Rizal Sports Complex in Manila for getting in a fight against a sports official a while back. The Iranian was still given another chance to put that all in the past, as the URCC gave him a shot against undefeated lightweight prospect, Honorio Banario of Team Lakay Wushu. Things didn't go his way though, as the Wushu expert had him mounted early, making him tap to strikes a minute and a half into their bout. The referee, Joey Lapiten stopped the bout, and when he asked the fighters to shake hands after the bout, Jabbari lived up to his reputation and started cursing at him. Things escalated from there. Jabarri assaulted the referee, then a few moments later, Alvin Aguilar, the URCC founder and promoter who also happens to be a BJJ black belt, stepped into the ring and choked out Jabbari to end all the chaos.

The URCC issued a statement and plans to get him banned from competing in the country again:

This behavior is unacceptable at the URCC and we take this very seriously. Steps are underway in permanently revoking Jabbari's GAB license banning him from all professional MMA events in the Philippines.

Fedor Emelianenko has made a shocking decision to compete in the Russian National Championship for Combat Sambo, according to a report on ESPN that was confirmed by M-1 Global earlier today.

Evgeni Kogan, M-1 Global's Director of Operations for M-1 Global, stated "Fedor's in, definitively." Emelianenko, known as "The Last Emporer," is a 4-time World Sambo Champion.

The always-excellent world-renowned Mixed Martial Arts reporter Josh Gross specifically called into question the New Jersey Athletic Control Board's 90-day medical suspension Emelianenko is supposed to honor due to the damage he suffered during his Strikeforce World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament fight against Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva on February 12th at the IZOD Center.

In his report, Gross reported, The state regulatory agency also prohibited Emelianenko from fighting pending a CT scan of his head and facial bones ... Representatives for Emelianenko did not respond to questions about the heavyweight's decision to compete despite athletic commission medical suspensions ... The NJACB did not immediately respond to inquires regarding the potential consequences of Emelianenko's participation in the tournament.

The Combat Sambo event takes place this weekend, February 26 and 27th in St. Petersburg, Russia. The next quater-final matchups in the Strikeforce Grand Prix appears to be in limbo, as Strikeforce is reportedly planning on bumping the next two Heavyweight Grand Prix matches from their April 9th card and replacing them with a pair of title fights. Instead of the originally scheduled Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers and FABRICIO WERDUM vs. Alistair Overeem quarterfinal fights, the San Jose-based promotion is quietly putting together a Lightweight Championship fight between reigning title holder GILBERT MELENDEZ and Tatsuya Kawajiri; and a Welterweight Championship contest between NICK DIAZ and either Paul Daley or the heavily-hyped Tyron Woodley. The rournament delay is rumored to be taking place because of Josh Barnett's continuing issues in getting licensed.
