Fighters of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the Russian warehouse on the temporarily occupied Kinburn spit, according to the video published by the Navy itself.
"A unit of the Navy of the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed the enemy's warehouse of ammunition and fuel and lubricants on the Kinburn Spit in the Black Sea," the message reads.
The video shows a warehouse near the coast – it is first hit by an FPV drone, and then ammunition from the drone is dropped on the building.
After that, a fire and heavy smoke can be seen.
On August 9, Defense Intelligence's special forces raided the occupied Kinburn spit in Mykolaiv Oblast. Intelligence reports the destruction of six units of armored vehicles of the Russian Federation and the elimination of about 30 troops.
Later, a video emerged of how in early August the Tsyklon group of the DIU legion struck the Russian military on the Kinburn spit: scouts hit equipment, observation points, and personnel from drones. The exact date of this was not revealed.
The spokesman of the Navy explained that the Kinburn Spit is important for Ukraine, as the Russians are shelling the Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts from it, and can also attack vessels that could potentially enter Mykolaiv's seaports.

Russian prosecutors have requested prison sentences ranging from 16 to 24 years for 23 men and women accused of being members of Ukraine’s Azov Brigade, independent media outlet Mediazona reported on Wednesday.
The prosecutors requested the court in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don hand all 23 defendants custodial sentences, including to eight women who worked as cooks and two soldiers who were exchanged for Russian prisoners in 2022 and who are being tried in absentia as a result. The case against a 24th defendant, Oleksandr Ishchenko, who died in Russian custody last month, was dropped.
All the defendants, who have served in both military and auxiliary roles for the Azov Brigade, a detachment of Ukraine’s National Guard, have been charged with attempting to seize power by force, participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation and undergoing terror training.
Some of the accused were captured during the defence of the now-occupied southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol and its Azovstal plant in the early days of the war, though many were arrested at home after being demobilised, Mediazona reported. Some of the defendants were no longer in military service at the time of the Russian invasion in February 2022 and were detained while attempting to cross into Russia from the occupied regions of Ukraine.
The case against the Azov Brigade was opened in 2022, with all 24 defendants originally being held in occupied Donetsk. The case was transferred to Russian jurisdiction and the city of Rostov-on-Don later the same year.

Tetiana, 11, lays on their possessions as she and her grandmother Tetiana, 61, wait for transfer to the trainstation during evacuation of local people from Selidove to safe areas, in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, Ukraine, on Tuesday august 20, 2024.
Some new Ukrainian soldiers refuse to fire at the enemy. Others, according to commanders and fellow fighters, struggle to assemble weapons or to coordinate basic combat movements. A few have even walked away from their posts, abandoning the battlefield altogether.
While Ukraine presses on with its incursion into Russia’s Kursk region, its troops are still losing precious ground along the country’s eastern front — a grim erosion that military commanders blame in part on poorly trained recruits drawn from a recent mobilization drive, as well as Russia’s clear superiority in ammunition and air power.
“Some people don’t want to shoot. They see the enemy in the firing position in trenches but don’t open fire. ... That is why our men are dying,” said a frustrated battalion commander in Ukraine’s 47th Brigade. “When they don’t use the weapon, they are ineffective.”
The accounts come from commanders and soldiers who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity in order to speak freely about sensitive military matters. Others spoke on the condition that they be identified only by their call signs in keeping with Ukrainian military protocol.
Commanders say the recruits have contributed to a string of territorial losses that enabled Russia’s army to advance, including near the city of Pokrovsk, a critical logistics hub. If it falls, the defeat would imperil Ukraine’s defenses and bring Russia closer to its stated aim of capturing the Donetsk region. Russian soldiers are now just 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away.

A TikTok trend in Nepal portrayed joining the Russian army as a path to a better life. But for many young men, the reality turned out to be a nightmare.
A TikTok trend swept across Nepal in the summer of 2023, featuring videos of young Nepalese men boasting about joining the Russian army.
Hundreds Joined Russian Army
They talked about the comfortable living conditions, safe work environments, and wages far higher than what they could earn back home, according to Hotnews. For many in Nepal, where economic opportunities are limited, the promise of a better life in Russia seemed too good to pass up. But the reality was far harsher than these videos suggested.
Unbeknownst to many viewers, these TikToks only showed the initial training camps where recruits spent a few weeks before being sent to the front lines in Ukraine.
Over the past two years, hundreds, possibly thousands, of Nepalese men have joined the Russian military. At least a few dozen have already been killed, leaving behind grieving families in Nepal, who had relied on them as sole providers.
Hoping for a Fresh Start
One such recruit, Bista Prakash, initially sought a fresh start in Russia after a tragic personal loss. Convinced by a cousin, Bista borrowed a large sum of money to pay an agent for a visa and airfare.
However, upon arrival, he quickly realized his tourist visa barred him from working, leaving him vulnerable and desperate. Eventually, he saw an ad for military recruitment and, lured by the promise of a high salary, enlisted.
Bista’s dreams quickly unraveled. After just three weeks of training, he was sent to the frontlines in Ukraine, where he experienced relentless violence and terror.
Wounded and disillusioned, Bista eventually escaped the war zone, but not before urging his friends back home to avoid making the same mistake.

Ukrainian Air Force Chief Mykola Oleshchuk has reported on the successful operations of his fighter jets during the offensive in the western Russian region of Kursk . Precision bombs were mainly used against Russian positions and troop concentrations.

Precision bombs are glide bombs that can be guided to their target by pilots. During the advance in the Kursk region, two important bridges over the Sejm River were destroyed by fighter planes .
Oleshchuk did not provide any information on which aircraft types Ukraine used in its attacks. According to Ukrainian military experts, the American F-16 fighter jets provided by the West have not yet been used. (dpa)

An attempt by a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group to cross into Russia’s southwestern Bryansk region was thwarted on Wednesday, according to Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz, who reported clashes between the group and the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
The group attempted to enter the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, Belarus and adjoins Russia’s Kursk region, which has been the focal point of a Ukrainian incursion since 6 August, through the region’s Klimovsky district, Bogomaz said.
The Ukrainian forces reportedly retreated after suffering “fire damage” from Russia’s FSB Border Service and the Russian military, Bogomaz continued, adding that the situation had been “stabilised” and brought “under the control” of the regional authorities by Wednesday evening.
Popular pro-war Telegram channel Dva Mayora said a group of at least 20 Ukrainian soldiers had launched an attempted cross-border incursion near the village of Zabrama at around 7pm on Wednesday, but retreated after a “small arms fight” with eight border guards and 10 soldiers from Chechnya’s Akhmat special forces battalion.
Neither Moscow nor Kyiv has commented on the alleged incursion attempt.
Reports of the attempt to cross into the Bryansk region came as images emerged on Thursday morning of bomb shelters being installed in the neighbouring Kursk region, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) incursion entered its third week.
Acting Kursk Governor Alexey Smirnov published an image of a reinforced concrete shelter being delivered to the regional capital Kursk, saying that the structures would be installed at 60 bus stops across the city, as well as in the nearby cities of Zheleznogorsk and Kurchatov.
On Wednesday, Smirnov announced an initiative by Russia’s leading online marketplaces to help locals house those fleeing from districts of the Kursk region under AFU control, with popular classified ads platform Avito inviting users to indicate their willingness to host evacuees free of charge.

A Danish rapper whose rejection of “European values” and support for Vladimir Putin led him to migrate to Russia last year, has won a legal battle to terminate a contract he signed with the Russian Defence Ministry, independent news outlet Mediazona reported on Thursday.
Nicklas Hoffgaard, who performed in Denmark under the name Stanley Most before announcing his retirement in 2018, was initially granted a Russian residence permit in 2023. However, after experiencing problems trying to extend it, he decided to sign a contract with the Russian Defence Ministry in the hope of obtaining Russian citizenship.
Hoffgaard, 33, had expected to become a border guard in Siberia, according to Mediazona, but was instead sent to eastern Ukraine to serve in a unit responsible for launching drone strikes, where he complained that his fellow soldiers considered him a spy and forced him to drink vodka.
Roman Petrov, Hoffgaard’s lawyer, told the court that his client had not understood the terms of the contract he signed as he does not speak Russian. Despite the court ruling in his favour, Hoffgaard may still have to face another trial at a military court in Novosibirsk before being able to return home, Mediazona reported.
On Monday Vladimir Putin signed a decree designed to simplify the relocation process for foreign citizens who want to move to Russia because they support “traditional Russian spiritual and moral values” and oppose the “neoliberal ideology” of their home countries.

This week’s drone attack on the Olenya airbase was one of several recent Ukrainian strikes against the far northern Russian region.
Almost at the same time, a big number of drones attacked targets in the Moscow region, as well as more southern regions of Volgograd, Voronezh, Rostov, Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk.
With massive air defence fire, Russian forces took down the UAV that had the shape of Aeroprak A-22 Foxbat ultralight aircraft. The drone exploded in the air near the small military town of Vysokii.
According to several sources, the Kola Peninsula has been subjected to Ukrainian attacks over several days this week. It is not clear if any of the drones hit their targets, or were shot down by Russian air defence. In late July, a drone made it all the way to Olenya where it reportedly damaged a long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier TU-22M3.
Locals in the heavily militarised Kola Peninsula are now increasingly concerned about the situation.

Russia was once the global leader in military drone and electronic warfare technology, particularly at the tactical level. However, in the 30 months since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it has lost its edge in these technical areas.
In contrast, Ukraine has emerged as a world leader in these fields, with its defense industries developing increasingly advanced systems for their military.
This is especially true for drones and electronic warfare systems, which have rapidly evolved during the course of the war. Ukraine outpaced Russia in development, allowing them to deploy more advanced systems more quickly, gaining a decisive edge.

Fire trucks extinguishing oil depot in Proletarsk consecrated
Owners of oil depots in the Rostov region rushed to get rid of assets amid attacks from Ukraine. The number of ads for the sale of such objects increased after drones struck a fuel depot in Proletarsk, RostovGazeta noted . The oil depot has not been extinguished for five days.
One of the ads was posted on Tuesday, August 20. The owner offers to buy a property in Volgodonsk for 30 million rubles. Another oil depot is located in Azov and is being sold for 60 million rubles. On June 18, Ukrainian drones flew to the storage facility of the Azovproduct plant. The fire that engulfed the tanks with oil products took three days to extinguish over an area of 3.2 thousand m².
Another base is for sale in Matveyev Kurgan. The owner decided to part with it, despite the fact that a year ago he carried out a "major overhaul of all equipment" and buildings. Among the bonuses, he names the fact that the facility has two fire tanks and a fire pond. The price is 45 million rubles.
Also in the region they are trying to sell two oil refineries and an oil depot, which is currently not working. The price is not indicated in the ads.

The last part of the vid, is from earlier the same afternoon. The shootout between the BMPs happened after this (You can see the burnout of the Ukrainian (Kozak?), which you see catch fire later in the vid. You can also see it on the daylight, which are pretty dimmed early in the vid, but are much brighter later in the vid. (Sun from the west, indicating sunset). So the timeframe on that 5 min clip is manipulated.

Drone footage of battle in Russkaya Konopelka - Kursk oblast (August 2024). Includes encounter between enemies IFV.

A Russian BMP-3 is firing on a Ukrainian M113 going down the road. A Ukrainian MRAP and BMP-2(triangle markings visible) both approach the intersection where the Russian BMP-3 is.
The Ukrainian BMP-2 mistakenly fires a shot at the Ukrainian MRAP while the Russian BMP-3 turns around and destroys the Ukrainian BMP-2 at close range.
Looks like a series of catastrophic mistakes from the Ukrainian side as the Ukrainian BMP-2 could have easily eliminated the Russian BMP-3 which was firing the opposite way down the road.
EDIT: a lot of people are replying that the BMP-2 is Russian because the symbol appears to be a “V”.
While possible, I think that it looks like a triangle that’s been distorted by the angle of the drone camera. Also, none of the Russian IFV’s/APC’s spotted in Kursk have been marked with a “V” symbol. The Russian bmp-3 clearly has no marking, so it wouldn’t make sense for the bmp-2 to have a “V” marking if it was Russian.
Lastly, the Ukrainian M113 we see at the beginning of the video has a black tarp covering the back. The bmp-2 has the exact same style of black tarp covering its back as well. The Russian bmp-3 has a different turret cage with a completely different covering from the bmp-2 and no black tarp. For these reasons, I think that it is unlikely the bmp-2 is Russian.

quote:Finland to deploy around 5,000 NATO troops near Russian border
The Finnish government has decided to deploy a NATO armored brigade, comprising 4,000-5,000 troops, near its border with Russia to enhance deterrence against external threats. This move was reported by the Finnish publication Iltalehti, citing sources within the Alliance and security services, and relayed by DW.
"The Finnish Defence Forces and state leadership have concluded that the presence of NATO troops on Finnish territory is necessary for enhanced deterrence," the publication noted.
The new brigade is currently being formed and will be stationed in Mikkeli, a city close to the Russian border.
A NATO command post will be established to oversee the brigade, which will report to NATO’s headquarters in Norfolk, USA. The preparations for this command post have been ongoing since last spring, according to Iltalehti. During this period, British Rear Admiral Tim Henry, Deputy Commander of NATO’s Norfolk Joint Operations Headquarters, visited Mikkeli.
“We want to send a clear message to the Russians and make it public. The Alliance is very clear in its position: Russia poses a threat to the Euro-Atlantic region,” Henry emphasized during his visit.
According to Iltalehti, the brigade, which will be equipped with armored vehicles, will also include Swedish and Norwegian troops. The decision has already been made, and it is expected that NATO and Finnish authorities will announce the deployment of this new unit in the coming weeks.

The Russian government has opened a criminal investigation into a CNN correspondent for reporting from Ukrainian-occupied Russia, an assignment defended by the news network.
Nick Paton Walsh, CNN’s chief international security correspondent, at the invitation of the Ukrainian government, was escorted by their military last week to Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk region to report on Ukraine’s surprise cross-border incursion and occupation.
Russia’s main internal security agency, the Federal Security Service (FSB), said in a statement that it had “initiated and is investigating criminal cases” against Paton Walsh and two Ukrainian journalists.
It accused them of having “illegally crossed the State Border of the Russian Federation and filmed in the area ofthe Sudzha settlement in the Kursk Region.”
CNN said in a statement: “Throughout this conflict our team has delivered factual, impartial reporting covering both the Ukrainian and Russian perspectives on the war.”
“Our team was invited by the Ukrainian government, along with other international journalists, and escorted by the Ukrainian military to view territory it had recently occupied. This is protected activity in accordance with the rights afforded to journalists under the Geneva Convention and international law.”
The FSB said that the journalists would be placed on an “international wanted list.” It is not clear to which list the FSB referred.
quote:Ukraine Has its Foot on Gazprom’s Throat
Russia’s Gazprom continues to send gas even though Ukraine has captured a key technical site in Kursk. The consequences could be extremely serious for the company and the Kremlin.
As an expert in gas transit and former head of Ukraine’s gas transmission network, I have closely observed decision-making over Gazprom’s continued use of pipelines through Ukraine, especially since Kyiv’s armed forces seized the critical Sudzha gas metering station inside Russia’s Kursk region two weeks ago.
Understanding Gazprom’s approach requires recognition of Sudzha’s strategic significance. It is the only remaining route to deliver gas directly to Europe and became even more crucial after the Yamal and Nord Stream 1 pipelines ceased operations in 2022.
At present, the gas flow through Sudzha is 40-42 million cubic meters per day, making it an indispensable link in the chain of Russian gas exports to Europe. It is even more important to Gazprom, the once money-spinning gas giant financially humbled by the continent’s turn away from Kremlin energy.
Given its importance, the lack of control over Sudzha introduces substantial risks for the Russian company. Gazprom now has no oversight of the metering station where gas flow is measured, creating the risk of third-party interference with metering equipment and preventing Gazprom personnel from performing standard maintenance procedures.
In short, Gazprom can no longer trust the system that proves and details a large part of its exports and therefore its revenues.
The company is also obliged to provide metering documentation to Russian Customs and Fiscal Services so that it can pay tax.

Gergely Gulyás, Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Prime Minister, has called for a ceasefire in the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kursk Oblast, Russia.
Source: Telex portal, as reported by European Pravda.
Details: Asked to comment on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operation in Kursk Oblast, Gulyás said that the Hungarian government "remains committed to peace".
"Ukraine is no longer just defending itself but is on the offensive. We want a ceasefire and peace," he said.
The Hungarian government representative also called on Ukraine and Russia not to forget that they are also responsible for Europe's energy security. He was referring to the transportation of Russian oil and gas through Ukrainian territory.
The Hungarian government has consistently advocated for a "truce" and "ceasefire" and against providing military assistance to Ukraine, both at the national and EU level.
In early July, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán went on a self-proclaimed "peace mission" to Ukraine, Russia and China, drawing criticism from the EU.
