En Trump in direct verband staat met de hulp aan Oekra�ne (het tegenhouden ervan in elk geval), maar ook met zijn chantage aan het adres van Zelenski, waarbij hij ook dreigde al toegezegde hulp tegen te houden is Trump wel degelijk relevant in deze oorlog. En daardoor dus ook zijn legale problemen en de verkiezingen waaraan hij meedoet.

Waarvan hij al aangegeven heeft dat als hij weer president wordt hij alle hulp aan Oekra�ne zal stoppen, dat er geen cent meer naar Oekra�ne toe gaat.

Door zijn bedreigingen aan het adres van niet alleen Biden (al valt daar nog over te discussi�ren), maar ook de rechter, zijn familie en de prosecutie zou dat prima mogelijk zijn (is ��n van de voorwaarden om iemand onder voorarrest te plaatsen, een gevaar zijn voor de gemeenschap of een persoon uit deze gemeenschap). Al ben ik nu weer aan het afdwalen.

Dat andere filmpje is inderdaad minder relevant. Ik was het vooral eens met de punt die hij maakte. Dat de media MAGA/Trump en die gehele groep niet moest ontwijken. Maar juist aan de tand moest voelen. Zodat ze de wereld (en vooral de Amerikaanse kiezer) kunnen laten zien waar ze voor staan.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree in February to create a new branch of Ukraine's Armed Forces specifically dedicated to drones.

- De Tomahawk is een stuk minder nauwkeurig (al is dat over de jaren heen wel flink verbeterd). De nieuwste versie heeft ongeveer een nauwkeurigheid van 5 meter, die drone van Oekra�ne 1 meter. Al heeft dat meerdere redenen natuurlijk. Die drones vliegen bijvoorbeeld niet zo snel als een raket. En de Tomahawk heeft een veel grotere explosieve lading, dus die hoeft niet op de meter nauwkeurig te zijn.
- Voor zover ik kan zien maakt de Tomahawk geen gebruik van AI. Al staat AI natuurlijk nog in de kinderschoenen, en weet ik ook niet hoever Oekra�ne nu is met de implantatie hiervan in zijn drones. En hoe geavanceerd deze AI dan wel niet is.
- De Tomahawk kan niet zelfstandig beslissingen nemen, tenminste niet op een breeder niveau. Doelwitten moeten in geprogrammeerd worden, of er moet directe communicatie zijn met een satelliet/externe radar/het afvuursysteem. De acties die hij dus "zelfstandig" kan uitvoeren zijn gelimiteerd. (al weet ik niet hoever Oekra�ne gevorderd is met dit soort dingen. Zoals ik al zeg het staat nog in de kinderschoenen)

Zo zijn er vast nog wel wat meer verschillen te vinden. Maar als Oekra�ne een AI bestuurd systeem kan ontwikkelen die een hele hoop subsystemen van bijvoorbeeld de Tomahawk kan overnemen. En die ook kan leren en zelfstandig beslissingen kan maken dan zou dat een hele grote stap voorwaarts zijn.

En op dit ogenblik is Oekra�ne natuurlijk de perfecte testomgeving voor dit soort dingen. Er is geschat dat ze zo'n 10.000 drones per maand gebruiken/verliezen. De beelden en zo die ze hiervan krijgen kunnen ze gebruiken om AI te trainen. Bijvoorbeeld in doelwitherkenning. Hoe langer de oorlog voortduurt hoe beter de AI zal worden. En uiteindelijk zou het zelfs zover komen dat drones geheel autonoom op AI kunnen draaien.

1/3de van de Europese (EU) productie gebeurd in Tjechie. En dat gaat slechts om 80.000-100.000 per jaar. Dit willen ze omhoog brengen naar 150.000

Waarom ze maar zo weinig (kunnen?) produceren weet ik niet. Zowieso kost het iets van 3 dagen om een batch met shells te produceren. Mogelijk dat het probleem de explosieven zijn? Er is bijvoorbeeld een tekort aan buskruit.

Of mogelijk zijn er erg gespecialiseerde machines en personeel voor nodig.

An Austrian ex-secret service agent is said to have sold information to Russia. The fugitive Wirecard manager Marsalek apparently orchestrated the betrayal. Now there are indications of helpers in Germany.

The case looks like the material of a spy thriller: Egisto O., once an employee of the Austrian Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Combating Terrorism (BVT), is said to have obtained and sold information for Russia. His former superior, department head Martin W, is said to have incited him to betray him. He, in turn, is said to have acted on behalf of the fugitive Wirecard manager Jan Marsalek.

The German authorities are now also interested in the suspected espionage case.
