Several Republican senators had angrily called the White House trying to determine who at the admin knew about Bolton's manuscript, which aides there have had for several weeks, and what was in it. They told the White House they felt blindsided. 
Jay Sekulow and Mike Purpura are arguing the “facts” as though the Bolton bombshell hadn’t exploded. This displays incomprehensible argumentative ineptitude. Adapting to radically changed circumstances is the least that respect for one’s audience demands. 
Trump's lawyers are now making their *strangest* argument: the fact that Ukraine is infamously corrupt *across the board* means that Trump *only* caring about the alleged corruption of a single *American* with *no business* in Ukraine—his political rival, Joe Biden—is exculpatory 
Rush Limbaugh today: "I’ve had dinner with John Bolton a couple times. I’ve met him two or three times, and if this passage in the book is true, and this is actually what he’s intending, it’s not the John Bolton I thought I knew, this kind of disloyalty." 
Wouldn’t the more natural conclusion from Limbaugh be: “if this passage in Bolton’s book is true, it’s not the DONALD TRUMP I thought I knew” . . . ? 
so if i am understanding correctly, a fair process should happen neither in public nor behind closed doors, not with witnesses nor without witnesses, quickly but in due time, neither by day nor by night

Trump is arguing Hunter Biden’s Burisma work warranted a criminal investigation. Which means all the deals, trademarks & loans Ivanka, the Kushners, Don jr & Eric have received during his presidency should get the same.
