Lawmakers announced they had reached the agreement after three private meetings on Monday. It is expected to be finalized as early as Tuesday, well before the Friday deadline when funding would again lapse for a number of federal agencies. The new hires will get to work on what the committee says will be “robust oversight agenda.” Their immediate tasks will center on requests for documents from the administration on areas of interest – requests that may well prompt battles with the White House and potential executive privilege claims.
The committee will also launch a series of public hearings on these issues.

Mogelijk, het lijkt me politiek gezien vanuit zijn positie bekeken een hele slechte strategie om nu de noodtoestand uit te roepen. Theoretisch zou hij bijna de volledige macht kunnen krijgen maar via de pas ontdekte maas in de wet kunnen ze 'm dan van z'n post trekken en berechten. Dan knoopt hij zich spreekwoordelijk gezien alleen maar steviger op. Ik sluit niet uit dat hij het zou kunnen doen maar als ik de zet 'voor' Trump moest maken dan zou ik het ditmaal niet op scherp spelen.quote:
