Het is al weer een jaar geleden dat de vorige FFT100 gehouden is en uiteraard gebeurd dat dit jaar weer. De afgelopen drie edities (2002;2003;2004) werden glansrijk gewonnen door Pulp Fiction. Houdt deze populariteit ook dit jaar weer stand of begint de film zijn glans te verliezen ten gunste van een andere film. Over een maand weten we het, want dat gaan jullie de komende maand bepalen.
De samenstelling van de Top 100 gebeurd aan de hand van toplijsten die jullie maken en in dit topic posten. Je hebt hier de keuze uit een viertal lengtes, namelijk 100, 50, 25 of 10 films, elk met hun eigen puntentelling, zoals hieronder duidelijk zal worden. Zoek een lengte uit waarbij je geen moeite hebt om die geheel te vullen met erg goede films en niet per se een top 100 omdat dat beter zou staan, met het gevolg dat je heel hard moet gaan nadenken op zoek naar mindere films om die vol te krijgen.

Het wijzigen van je toplijst kan tot aan de deadline van het inleveren. Wanneer je iets wil wijzigen meldt dit dan in een aparte post, want ik zal de lijsten waarschijnlijk meteen verwerken en edits zullen mij dan niet opvallen.
De films in je lijst moeten minimaal feature-length zijn (60 minuten) en mini-series zijn niet toegestaan, tenzij deze in de bioscoop te zien zijn geweest. Ik denk hierbij bijvoorbeeld aan La Meglio Gioventù. Ik hou IMDb aan wat betreft aanduiding van miniseries. It mag daarom dus wel, maar bijvoorbeeld The Stand niet.
Verder is het niet toegestaan om een film-reeks als één film te beschouwen. Je kunt dus niet de LOTR-trilogie in z'n geheel op de eerste plaats zetten. Wat wel mogelijk is, is om de films ex aequo op de eerste plaats te zetten. De films krijgen dan niet elk 100 punten, maar elk het aantal punten van de tweede plaats, zodat het aantal punten wat jij uitgedeeld hebt gelijk is aan het aantal van iemand zonder ex aequo plaatsen.
Ik zou het erg op prijs stellen wanneer jullie het jaartal van release erbij vermelden en wanneer je zelfs IMDb links eronder zet ben je helemaal een held. Dat scheelt mij weer het nodige opzoekwerk en maakt voor mij ook meteen duidelijk welke film je bedoelt als er meerdere met dezelfde titel zijn.
Inleveren van je toplijst kan tot zaterdag 20 augustus 20:00 uur. De uitslag zal waarschijnlijk diezelfde avond nog volgen, maar daar kan ik nu geen garanties voor geven. Net als vorig jaar zal er ook een tweede lijst gepubliceerd worden, die samengesteld is uit door mij geselecteerde lijstjes volgens objectieve criteria.
Ik wens jullie veel succes en vooral veel plezier bij het samenstellen van jullie lijstjes en dat er een mooie top 100 uit mag rollen. Als er nog vragen of onduidelijkheden zijn hoor ik het wel.

Toch vrij veel films van de afgelopen 10 jaar. Maar ik ben pas 21 lentes jong. Ik heb meer films van na '95 dan van voor '95 gezien. Vandaar.
Een aantal films heb ik recentelijk gezien, en zal ik volgend jaar waarschijnlijk niet in mijn lijst opnemen. Maar ze zitten nu nog vers in het geheugen. Ik denk dat deze lijst volgend jaar op zeker 10 plaatsen veranderd is.
Ik heb bewust een aantal films eruit gelaten (The Godfather), aangezien ze hun stemmen toh wel krijgen. Dit terwijl een aantal andere films niet/weinig genoemd zullen worden, terwijl ze in mijn ogen wel een notering verdienen.

3. Au Revoir Les Enfants 1987 - dit is een van de weinige films die mij een traantje hebben doen wegpinken... hij is zo aandoenlijk

5. Apocalypse Now 1979
6. Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo 1966 - oftewel the good, the bad & the ugly
sfeer!!! heerlijk. western op zijn italiaans, met alle tijd van de wereld7. The Godfather 1972 - vind hem toch leuker dan deeltje II, maar in principe kun je die twee films ook samen nemen als 1 mooi familiedrama
8. Fight Club 1999 - toch wel een van de beste films van de jaren '90 vind ik, net als:
9. Jacob's Ladder 1990 - twist op het eind! weirde creaturen! drugs! vietnam! tim robbins in een ijsbad! het zit er allemaal in!
10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail 1975 - Humor op zijn top
runawaaayy!11. Brazil 1985 - Machtige film van Terry Gilliam over een distopische toekomst, ook vandaag de dag hoogst actueel aangezien burgerrechten nog steeds met hand en tand verdedigd moeten worden.
12. 2001: A Space Odyssey 1968 - Kubrick again... monumentale SF film. zware thema's genoeg: evolutie, kunstmatige intelligentie, zijn we alleen in het universum... list goes on
13. Being John Malkovich 1999 - malkovich malkovich malkovich, malkovich... malkovich? malkovich malkovich! (inkoppertje
14. Playtime 1967 - Jacques Tati's meesterwerk. Requires multiple viewings
15. Mulholland Dr. 2001 - al heel vaak gezien ondertussen, lynch
16. La Cité des Enfants Perdus 1995 - wat een aparte film. geweldig verrassend script met werkelijk prachtige cinematografie
17. Midnight Cowboy 1969 - Een mooi verhaal, met lekkere muziek van Nilsson. moet je gewoon zien
18. The Big Lebowski 1998 - heerlijk relaxte film van de Coen broertjes. The Dude - wat een held. wat een held! hij doet geen ene zak behalve cocktails zuipen en hij redt de hele film. but that's just, like, my opinion, man
19. Donnie Darko 2001 - scoort ook op alle fronten hoog: weirdness, soundtrack, acteerwerk, regie, camerawerk, originaliteit...
20. Blade Runner 1982 - Heerlijk sfeervolle SF film, zo niet dé sfeervolste, met belangrijk thema: (hoe) verschilt de mens van zijn eigen creatie: de machine?
21. Los Amantes del Círculo Polar 1998 - prachtige Spaanse film over twee mensen die door het lot met elkaar verbonden zijn. cirkels cirkels cirkels...
22. Metropolis 1927 - ja die ene uit 1927
mooi symbolisch verhaal, voor die tijd helemaal geweldig groots23. C'est arrivé pres de chez vous 1992 - cool! de eerste keer dat ik hem zag moest ik ff nadenken; is dit echt of wat?? ronduit bruut, en origineel, met een geweldige anti-held. Op de leeftijd dat ik hem zag een echte eye-opener. Kun je dit met film doen?
24. Bad Boy Bubby 1994 - Lekker weird, van de nederlands/australische regisseur Rolf de Heer, over een man die 35 jaar lang in een huis bij zijn moeder is opgegroeid, en voor het eerst de buitenwereld in gaat.
25. La Meglio Giuventù 2003 - ook deze kon mijn traanbuizen bespelen zoals Duran Duran Barbarella met zijn orgel
weinig verandering ten opzichte van voorgaande jaren; merk toch wel dat ik de laatste jaren toch meer naar tv-series en videoclips en allerlei andere afwijkende formaten ben gaan kijken; het canon heb ik toch grotendeels wel gezien. Bovendien merk je toch een zekere afstomping; als ik C'est arrivé pres de chez vous gisteren voor het eerst gezien zou hebben, dan zou hij gewoon minder hard aankomen dan toen ik hem (grofweg) 10 jaar terug zag en nog weinig film-kijk-ervaring had. toch ook een deel persoonlijke ervaring dus.
Maar al met al moet een film toch erg zijn best doen om nog een blijvende indruk op mij te maken; enige echte nieuwe film in mijn lijstje sinds de topics van 2002 is toch La Meglio Giuventu (en Playtime; een echte ontdekking).

Eigenlijk kon ik alleen de eerste 4 films snel oplepelen... de rest van de films zijn goed te noemen, maar zouden waarschijnlijk vervangen worden wanneer mijn geheugen wat beter was om wat meer Italiaanse, Franse en Spaanse titels te onthouden.
Ik vrees desondanks dat mijn eerste 4 titels niet terug te vinden zijn in de einduitslag. Daarvoor is onder veel Fok!kers de filmkennis te beperkt, zodat ze helaas niet al te vaak genoemd zullen worden.

Zeer overtuigende en zwaarmoedige film. Het verhaal is niet bijzonder sterk, maar zet de kijker wel heel dicht bij de situatie van de soldaten in die oorlog. Het eerste half uur is inderdaad het mooiste aan de film en de rest zwakt wat af. Toch heeft die eerste scène zoveel indruk op mij gemaakt dat hij een verdiende 1e plaats krijgt.
2. Der Untergang
Ook deze film is zeer overtuigend en zwaarmoedig. De bedompte sfeer die continue in de bunker hangt, de angst die leeft bij alle bewoners van de bunker, maar bovenal de fenomenale acteerprestaties van Bruno Ganz (als Hitler) geven deze film recht op een 2e plaats. (ik was zelden zo stil toen ik uit de bioscoop vertrok)
3. The Matrix
Mindblowing, revolutionair, origineel, fantastisch uitgewerkt en uniek in zijn soort. De vervolgen waren een regelrechte belediging voor deze film, maar dat kan de pret niet drukken. De film is de eerste waar ik aan denk bij dit soort lijsten en verdient daarom hier ook zeker een plaats in de top 3. (Waren die gieren nou maar met hun poten van het concept afgebleven en hadden de film gelaten voor wat het was.)
4. Fight Club
Eergisteren gezien, en minstens zo mindblowing als The Matrix. Het acteerwerk is ijzersterk en de filmtechnieken zijn bijzonder goed uitgevoerd. Hier en daar (in mijn ogen) wat schoonheidsfoutjes en onduidelijkheden, maar door z'n ijzersterke einde toch zeker de 4e plaats waardig.
5. The Shawshank Redemption
Het feit dat ik de film al zo'n 6 keer heb gezien zonder dat ie me verveeld (en waarschijnlijk me ook nog lang niet gaat vervelen) zegt voor mij al meer dan genoeg.
6. The Pink Panther Strikes Again
Droge Engelse humor ten top, waar 'The Holy Grail' hier en daar bijzonder ver gezocht was is dit meer de wat toegankelijke humor welke een 10jarige nog begrijpt.
7. Shaun of the Dead
De meest briljante filmparodie ooit. De geniale Britse humor is tijdloos. (aanrader is eerst het kijken van films als Resident Evil en waarschijnlijk ook Dawn of the Dead, de laatste heb ik overigens zelf niet gezien, maar aan de naam is een boel af te leiden.)
8. The Game
Geniaal script met een fantastische plotwending.
9. The Truman Show
Fascinerend.
10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Ondanks de af en toe wat vergezochte grapjes toch echt een klassieker, kan er ook niet veel woorden aan vuil maken.
11. Shrek
Zelden heb ik zo'n grappige animatiefilm gezien met de gave om zowel volwassenen als kinderen te boeien.
12. The Terminal
Hoogstandje van Spielberg en Hanks. Spielberg maakt hier wederom een verhaal, volledig uit het niets en nog nooit over nagedacht en Hanks speelt een zeer overtuigende buitenlander, gevangen op een vliegveld.
13. Minority Report
Erg coole film, het overall futuristische sfeertje wat er in de hele film hangt werkt voor mij zeer aanstekelijk en geeft de film al meer aanzien in mijn ogen dan ie misschien hoort te hebben, maar ik vind hem goed genoeg voor plaats 13.
14. Catch Me If You Can
Nog zo'n meesterwerk van Spielberg, ik weet niet eens exact meer hoe het verhaal ging, maar kan zonder twijfel vertellen dat ie hier thuishoort.
15. The Lion King
Zeer mooie animatiefilm van de Disneystudio's. De kracht van deze film zat hem voor mij in zowel z'n muziek als het zeer emotionele moment waarop de vader van Simba overlijd. Je gaat godsamme gewoon meeleven met een tekenfilmfiguur.
16. The Bourne Identity
Meer dan vermakelijke film. Misschien een nog onbevredigde behoefte aan films met huurmoordenaars?
17. Pleasantville
De filmeffecten zijn bepalend voor deze film. Ik vind de Idyllische weergave van "Pleasantville" (in het zwart-wit) die langzaam verandert naar kleur en daarmee een nog idyllischer uiterlijk een groot genot om naar te kijken.
18. Three Kings
Ik ken maar weinig goede films die handelen over het onderwerp midden-oosten, en deze staat voor mij aan de top.
19. Being John Malkovich
Zo abstract en boeiend dat het nog niemand gelukt is om ook maar in de buurt te komen van dit meesterwerk.
20. Ocean's Eleven
Vlotte film. Zeer goed vermaak, ga ook hier verder geen woorden aan vuil maken.
21. The Silence of the Lambs
Ook hiervan ken ik het verhaal niet helemaal meer en kan weer met zekerheid stellen dat ie voor mij op deze plek thuishoort. Ik hou niet van het genre horror/thriller en toch is deze me continue bijgebleven.
22. The Godfather
Nog nooit geëvenaard in sfeer, geloofwaardigheid en filmtechniek.
23. The Thomas Crown Affair
Ik val in herhaling, maar ook hier weer geen woorden-bevuilerij.
24. The Sixth Sense
Zeeer mooie psychothriller met een ontstellend einde.

Dat gaat op basis van punten, en bij gelijkheid van punten alfabetisch. Ik had geen zin om per 10, 9 of 8 alles nog eens door elkaar te gaan schoppen dus heb -afgezien van wat kleine wijzigingen- de rest op alfabetische volgorde laten staan kun je ook meteen zien dat mijn lijst halfverwege de 8 ophoudt

Ligt het aan mij, dat ik nooit heb kunnen ontdekken wat er nou zo bijzonder is aan die film, of blaat iedereen elkaar toch gewoon na?

23. C'est arrivé pres de chez vous 1992 - cool! de eerste keer dat ik hem zag moest ik ff nadenken; is dit echt of wat?? ronduit bruut, en origineel, met een geweldige anti-held. Op de leeftijd dat ik hem zag een echte eye-opener. Kun je dit met film doen?
24. Bad Boy Bubby 1994 - Lekker weird, van de nederlands/australische regisseur Rolf de Heer, over een man die 35 jaar lang in een huis bij zijn moeder is opgegroeid, en voor het eerst de buitenwereld in gaat.
25. La Meglio Giuventù 2003 - ook deze kon mijn traanbuizen bespelen zoals Duran Duran Barbarella met zijn orgel

1. La Vita é Bella
De eerste WO II film waarvan de tranen in mn ogen stonden. Prachtige film over Italiaans gezin wat in concentratiekamp terecht komt en waarvan de vader zijn zoontje voorhoudt dat het allemaal maar een spelletje is. Hartverscheurend.
2. Forrest Gump
Beste film van Tom Hanks, geniale acteerprestatie. Hanks speelt een extreem laag IQ persoon, die door zijn voorkomen in de meest speciale situaties terecht komt, en daarmee door de geschiedenis van Amerika loopt (vanaf 1960). Bubba, shrimps en uiteindelijk het meisje... Heb je deze film nog niet, go get it
3. Pulp Fiction
Sterk staaltje van prachtige teksten, passende muziek en een geschift verhaal waarin toch alles lijkt te kloppen. Dat allemaal overgoten met de overdone geweld saus van Tarentino toch wel echt nog een topper.
4. Reservoir Dogs
Film over een set criminelen die na een mislukte roof terugkeert naar de hide out. Wie is de verklikker? Ijskoude film waarin het geweld langzaam maar zeker opbloeit naar een behoorlijke climax. Prachtfilm, met name omdat feitelijk de film zich afspeelt op 1 lokatie.
5. Big Fish
Tim Burton film over een man die zijn levensverhalen aan iedereen vertelt, maar ze in een erg fantasierijk jasje giet. Zoon heeft er genoeg van en gaat opzoek naar de waarheid achter de verhalen van zijn pa en komt er langzaam maar zeker achter dat fantasie en werkelijkheid elkaar soms niet zoveel ontlopen. Heerlijke film, prachtige fantasie, prachtig einde.
6. Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain
Franse film over Amelie Poulain, een sociaal onhandig meisje met een wat rare jeugd, die ontdekt dat haar eigen geluk in haar eigen handen ligt. In de manier van filmen een waar hedendaags sprookje. Ook heerlijke film om met je vriendin te kijken
7. Edward Scissorhands
Ook film van Tom Burton. Edward is experiment van een geschifte wetenschapper. Omdat zijn handen nog niet af waren heeft hij scharen als handen. Als hij ontdekt wordt door een aan de deur verkoopster gaat er een compleet nieuwe wereld voor hem open. Maar of dat allemaal wel goed gaat met die Amerikaanse huisvrouwen die hem willen gebruiken als kapper en tuinman... Prachtfilm, kil en warm tegelijkertijd. Opnieuw een hedendaags sprookje met enkele rake verwijzingen naar de huidige maatschappij.
8. Ray
Film over het leven van Ray Charles, beroemd muzikant. Zo gigantisch knap geacteerd dat deze film het al verdiend heeft om in mn top 10 te staan. Bovendien is ie nog heel onderhoudend ook
9. We Were Soldiers
Vietnamoorlog film met Mel Gibson in de hoofdrol. Verdomd enge film met goed beeld van de ranzigheid en waanzin van oorlog. Met (hoewel cliche) de kinderen thuis en een vrouw die de "telegrammen" gaat langsbrengen. Deed me meer dan ik verwachtte, en dus een klein plaatsje hier
10. Spirited Away
In het geweld van gecomputeriseerde "zie mij toffe grappen maken" Disney films als Finding Nemo ook nog een échte animatiefilm. Een film over een meisje dat, nadat haar ouders in varkens zijn veranderd, in een compleet andere wereld beland, en daar probeert uit te komen. Een film boordevol met mystieke wezens, waarvan langzaamaan de betkenis naar boven komt. Voor een animatiefilm wat mij betreft een meesterwerk. O, en mocht je hem kijken, taal op japans houden
Voor mij geen films als the Godfather meer. Ze zijn wel goed, maar ik vind ze niet goed én leuk om te kijken tegelijkertijd, wat voor mij toch de criteria is om een film in de top 10 te laten komen. Vandaar ook slechts een top 10, ik heb wel 100 films, maar er zijn er maar weinig die me echt iets doen

Veel films die ik recent (nogmaals) heb gezien, staan vers in het geheugen en komen dan ook veel voor in de lijst en staan hoog genoteerd. Ik denk dan ook dat als ik de lijst over een jaartje herzie, er een hoop verschuivingen zullen plaatsvinden.

En tot zover mijn Top 100 voor vandaag. De lijst is eeuwig in beweging. 1/5e deel van de lijst wordt ingenomen door mijn favo regisseurs (Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Godard, Fellini en Bergman), de overige 80 zijn bovenal niet-engelstalige films en klassiekers. Hoe dat komt? Ik weet het niet precies. Verder heb ik iets met Japanse Jidai-geki en samourai-flicks en doet vooral de klassieke cinema uit Italie en Frankrijk veel met me (Rossellini, Antonioni, Pasolini, Visconti, De Sica, Fellini, Godard, Melville, Renoir, Vigo etc) Het valt me nu op hoe weinig moderne films ik verkies. Misschien een tikkeltje meer openstellen voor de moderne cinema. Maar in ieder geval: het was weer leuk om zo’n lijstje samen te stellen!

De samenstelling van de Top 100 gebeurd aan de hand van toplijsten die jullie maken en in dit topic posten. Je hebt hier de keuze uit een viertal lengtes, namelijk 100, 50, 25 of 10 films, elk met hun eigen puntentelling, zoals hieronder duidelijk zal worden. Ik zie verdomde weinig La Vita é Bella zelfs niet in de top 100 lijsten. Komt dat omdat niemand deze film kent ofzo?

Dat mag je helemaal zelf bepalen. Het jouw lijstje wat je inlevert en wat je motivatie erachter is, al was het maar dat die figurante er zo leuk uitzag, maakt niet uit. Je moet dus een lijstje maken van films die van jou om wat voor reden dan ook in de Fok! Film Top 100 of in elk geval in jouw eigen top zoveel thuishoort.
