Rusland laat vier Oekraïense kinderen gaan
https://nos.nl/liveblog/2(...)n-kracht-af-te-nemen

Maar blijkbaar geldt dit niet voor Rusland.quote:Russia admits most of its drones come from China
The majority of drones that Russia currently has are imported from China, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Oct. 16 in a rare acknowledgment.
"Today, (our) drones are mostly all from the People's Republic of China," Siluanov said at the meeting of the State Duma's Budget and Taxes Committee.
"We are grateful to our partners, but we need to develop our own resource base and allocate the necessary funds."
The minister said that Russia is devoting 60 billion rubles ($600 million) to boost the domestic production of drones.
"The task is that by 2025, 41% of all drones will be labeled Made in Russia," the minister explained.

Russia has set up production of FPV drones at a bread factory for the war with Ukraine.
At the same time, drones are produced simultaneously with bakery products.
A video from the enterprise was published on a Russian propaganda channel.
The production of drones was organized by the Tambov Bakery at the request of the Russian army.
The first reports about the launch of FPV production at this enterprise were spread by the Russian media in March this year.
This drone was named Bekas (Common snipe), allegedly in honor of a bird. It is stated that the development was carried out by technical specialists of the bakery, and they assembled them in a separate room.
For the production of FPV drones, they have purchased some parts, as well as 3D printers, which are used to print parts for attaching payloads, namely: cameras, antennas, and ammunition drop systems.
As of March 2023, Russian propaganda claimed that the Tambov bread factory was producing 200 drones per month at an average cost of $450.
The drones can fly at a speed of 65 km/h with a single battery charge lasting for 15 minutes of operation. In each kit, a spare battery is additionally supplied to the Russian invaders.
The volume of current production of FPV drones at this bakery is unknown.

Meer informatie in het artikel.quote:Bulgaria shocks Hungary, Serbia with huge transit fees on Russian gas
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó have reacted strongly to Bulgaria’s decision to introduce new, huge transit fees of ¤10.2 per MW/h of natural gas passing through the Bulgarian extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline to Western Europe – the so-called “Balkan Stream”.
Serbia and Hungary receive all quantities of Russian gas through the “Balkan Stream”, as do North Macedonia and Austria.
Bulgaria expects the new transit fees to generate additional revenues of ¤1.2 billion. The new fee is so high that it will pay off the construction of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline in just one year.
“This is a big problem for us. This will lead to a drastic increase in the price of gas by an additional ¤100 per 1000 cubic metres of gas. This is an appalling increase, and we will talk to the Bulgarian side. And this (decision) should not be valid for Serbia,” Serbian President Alexander Vucic commented on Saturday, quoted by Politika.
Vucic said he would discuss the matter with his Bulgarian counterpart, Rumen Radev.
The conversation with Radev and the Bulgarian government is unlikely to help because the new legislation was adopted by the Euro-Atlantic majority, which has been acting completely independently of the president and the government in matters related to Russia in recent months.
Welke Europese solidariteit. Daar heeft Hongarije helemaal niks van laten zien.quote:According to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó, the new Bulgarian fees are unacceptable and threaten European solidarity. A day ago, Hungary also complained about the increase in the price of oil transit through Ukraine.
quote:The Netherlands hands over 4 mobile hospitals to border guards
Ukrainian border guards have received a shipment of medical equipment from the Netherlands.
Four more mobile hospitals were delivered, including a dental department.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced this on Monday, October 16.
These mobile hospitals are supplied by Hospitainer as part of the government program and under the coordination of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine to strengthen the medical capabilities of the Ukrainian Defense Forces during the ongoing Russian aggression.
“We have received mobile hospitals that will be used at the front. The mobile hospital has everything we need for various operations, including complex ones,” says Anatolii Kovalenko, head of the medical support department of the Steel Frontier brigade.
It is noted that the mobile hospitals correspond to the classification of mobile medical units of NATO armies Role 1, Role 2 Basic, Role 2 Enhanced, which are already in service with the medics of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and are used for their intended purpose, saving the lives of defenders.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine highlighted that this is not the first time a Hospitainer has come to Ukraine with aid. The company’s representative added that it has already handed over 9 such hospitals to the Ukrainian military and plans to supply 12 more.
“These hospitals are highly mobile, secure, autonomous and equipped with the appropriate materials, facilities and equipment to provide quality medical care for a long time. The hospitals are all-season, they have all the necessary equipment and medicines. These mobile hospitals can serve as a place to provide first aid, perform surgeries, and also deploy an inpatient care,” the statement said.
The mobile hospital can be deployed at any location and provide medical care.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine is currently looking for doctors, nurses and paramedics to be employed.
quote:With eye on US, Turkey in no rush to back Sweden's NATO bid
Turkey, NATO's second-biggest military, is still expected to ultimately endorse Sweden's bid and could rapidly move on it
Turkey is willing to hold off ratifying Sweden's bid to join NATO this month as it awaits signs of US support for its own request to buy F-16 jets, sources said, potentially disappointing bloc allies hoping to end 17 months of delay.
President Tayyip Erdogan elated a NATO summit in July by promising to send the bid to Turkey's parliament for ratification when it reopened in October, appearing to green-light Sweden after having raised objections over its alleged harbouring of terrorists.
However since parliament opened on Oct. 1, its foreign affairs commission, which would debate the NATO bid, has received almost 60 international agreements to review - excluding Sweden's, official data shows.
A second person familiar with US-Turkish talks said a rough proposal - in which each side would take steps toward ratifying the NATO bid on the one side, and the F-16s purchase on the other - had been delayed.
Erdogan's office did not immediately comment on a time frame for Sweden's ratification or on any US talks.
quote:Turkey, NATO's second-biggest military, is still expected to ultimately endorse Sweden's bid and could rapidly move on it.
But Turkish officials and foreign diplomats say Erdogan is in no rush, especially after a bomb attack in Ankara on the day parliament opened and, days later, the downing of an unmanned Turkish drone by the United States in northern Syria.
Addressing the drone incident, which occurred near US troops on Oct. 5, Erdogan said last week: "Isn't Turkey a NATO ally of the US? ...How can we explain this? Only when it suits them, they call themselves partners".
But Erdogan appears willing to leverage the situation for other gains. Last month, he openly floated exchanging Sweden's ratification for the U.S. go-ahead to upgrade Turkey's F-16 fleet.
With Washington keen to expand NATO, senior US and Turkish officials had sketched out a plan in which Erdogan would send the NATO proposal to parliament and the State Department would ask leaders of the US Senate and House foreign affairs committees to review the F-16 deal, the second source said.
But hopes for a swift approval took a blow on Oct. 1 when the PKK claimed responsibility for the bomb attack near Ankara government buildings.
quote:Russian governor has been reported to police after saying there’s ‘no need’ for the war in Ukraine
A Russian governor was accused by critics on Sunday of “discrediting Russia’s armed forces” after telling residents in her region that the country had “no need” for its war in Ukraine.
Natalya Komarova, the governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk region and a member of President Vladimir Putin’s governing United Russia party, made the remarks during a meeting with residents in the Siberian city of Nizhnevartovsk on Saturday.
Critics have called for authorities to launch an investigation into her remarks, but Komarova hasn’t been detained or faced any charges so far.
A video of the event posted on social media showed the politician being confronted by the wife of a Russian soldier who said that mobilized men had been poorly equipped for the front line.
