Het is een stap, maar ze kiezen er in eerste instantie voor om goederen die niet onder sancties vielen te verhandelen zoals voedsel en medicijnen, wat voorheen ook niet gebeurde. Op zichzelf kan dit dus al vele onschuldige levens redden, maar het einddoel is vermoedelijk een megadeal voor Airbus. Ze zijn dan ook van plan om het gaandeweg uit te breiden, zelfs Rusland durft op het moment geen passagiersvliegtuigen te leveren aan Iran.
