The winner of The Voice UK will land a record contract with Universal.
Holly Willoughby and Radio 1's Reggie Yates are hosting the series, which BBC One controller Danny Cohen reportedly spent over £20 million to secure for the broadcaster after a battle with ITV over the rights.
All four judges and the hosts will be at a Central London launch event tomorrow.

Well, this is awkward. After everyone had a good laugh about the fact that Simon Cowell had to move Britain’s Got Talent to avoid clashing with The Voice , the BBC talent show has cancelled its tour amid poor ticket sales.
The eight finalists of The Voice (Leanne Mitchell, Bo Bruce, Vince Kidd, Becky Hill, Max Milner, Jaz Ellington, Tyler James and Ruth Brown, fact fans) were due to perform around the UK later this year, but many dates have been axed.
Ticket website GetToTheFront stated this morning: “The Voice UK dates in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham and Aberdeen have been cancelled, tickets to be refunded.”
Simon will be chuckling to himself in a diamond helicopter somewhere, with The X Factor live tour always being a huge success around the country. This year’s BGT didn’t include a tour – with last year’s attempt also resulting in failure – so he’ll be pleased to have dodged that bullet this time around.
Simon originally moved Britain’s Got Talent to avoid clashing with The Voice – which pulled in much higher ratings of 11million at the start of the series.
However, as the live shows kicked off across both series, BGT soon overtook TV (yeah, that acronym won’t kick off), which dropped to less than five million viewers.
The cancelled tour dates follow the news that Leanne's winner's single Run To You (a Whitney cover) only went to number 45 in the charts . Ouch.

'One of the things I said I need to know is who the other coaches are, because I don’t want to be sitting there with somebody that I don’t admire or particularly like... there are a few of them!
'Hopefully, we will have the same four coaches.'
Re-vamp: BBC bosses are said to be considering extending the blind audition stage of the competition in a bid to claw back ratings.
BBC bosses are now said to be desperate to make changess to the £22million show in the hope of rescuing the format after ratings nosedived from 12.1million to a low of 5.1million in week 10.
Producers are reportedly open to talks with potential replacements to join will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue on the panel, and are considering running the blind auditions stage of the competition for longer and extending the popular battle rounds segment.

Bij de Britse editie van The Voice is alles koek en ei. Het is niet waar dat twee coaches zijn vertrokken, en dat bij een auditie maar vijf mensen zouden zijn komen opdagen, ligt volgens een woordvoerder genuanceerder.
Zowel Jessie J als Tom Jones heeft nog niet getekend voor het tweede seizoen van The Voice UK. De coaches zijn echter nog in onderhandeling, laat een woordvoerder van het programma weten aan de BBC. The Voice UK coaches have been causing jealousy amongst other BBC stars over their vast fees for taking part in the BBC One series.
The deals given to The Voice UK’s coaches – Will.i.am, Jesise J, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O’Donoghue – haven’t gone down well with other stars.
And with the news that all four are set to return this year for a second series despite disappointing ratings, many have been left somewhat fustrated.
Will.i.am is understood to have got a whopping £600,000 for his first series, while Sir Tom scooped £300,000.
Even Danny’s £100,000 fee was above what most other stars – such as the Strictly Come Dancing judges – got for their last series.
According to the Daily Mail, various “household names” from BBC shows are angry over the huge wages.
One told the newspaper: “How can the BBC justify paying that much money to four part-time judges who work a few hours a week on a show that struggled?
“I’ve had to take a major pay cut and accept that I’ll probably never receive a pay increase again, even though I work on a successful show.”
Another added to the paper today: “There are brilliant presenters who work full-time for the BBC who get less than half of the money paid out to The Voice judges. It’s not fair.”
The Voice UK will return in the new year for a second series on BBC One.

In de VS is het op een commerciele zender. Verdienen ze er netto geld aan, dan was het blijkbaar niet te duur. De BBC wordt door de staat gefinancierd. Dus iedereen die zijn kijk- en luistergeld betaalt, betaalt er aan mee. Als het programma dan ook nog eens weinig vernieuwend is en geen extreme publieken trekt, kan ik me voorstellen dat dat scheve gezichten oplevert. Zeker als anderen (die wellicht meer vernieuwen en meer kijkers trekken) moeten inleveren.quote:

“It is a bit like: ‘Been there, done that, seen that.’ Isn’t it about the voice? I might get in trouble for this…”
But despite it being about The Voice, Jessie admitted her recent image change come about after seeing how she looked on the telly every weekend.
“I learned a lot about myself. Watching myself back, I am a bit irritating sometimes,” Jessie admitted. “The fringe decided to retire, too. I looked at a picture of myself and was like: ‘You look a bit scary.’ I was a becoming a bit of a cartoon.
“But I might go as myself for Halloween, like Jessie J’s past.”
And confirming her return to the panel, Jessie revealed how she forced show bosses to move the dates of next year’s auditions in order to allow her to come back.
“My tour dates and the dates of The Voice clashed, so I said: ‘I need to prioritise my tour and my fans.’” she explained. “I was really gutted so I called the head of the BBC and said ‘Can we talk about this? I don’t feel right.’
“I didn’t want to miss out, so I sat with them and we looked at the dates and we jigged things around and I was then able to do it.”

Holly Willoughby will be back hosting The Voice UK in 2013, it’s been claimed.
The former Xtra Factor presenter fronted the first series with Radio 1 DJ Reggie Yates earlier this year.
Now it’s been reported that Beeb bosses have signed Holly for a second year, on a deal thought to be worth around £400,000.
A supposed BBC source told the Sunday People at the weekend: “Holly was a massive success for The Voice earlier this year.
“She was hugely popular with the viewers so it was a no brainer to get her back. BBC bosses really wanted her and she can’t wait for auditions to start.”
BBC One boss Danny Cohen previously said that he hoped Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Danny O’Donoghue would all return next year along with Jessie.
“We thought they made a very big impact for a first series and we want them all to come back,” he said last month. “We haven’t signed any contracts yet, so I can’t say anything official. But we said at the end of the first series that we wanted all of our coaches to come back.”
The Beeb chief also revealed plans for “dramatic changes” for series two, including less live shows and more audition rounds.
“Those live shows, the audience became over familiar with the grammar,” explained the channel controller. “It still works on Strictly and The X Factor, but audiences became over familiar with it.
“It’s not rocket science to say that the Blind Auditions were the best bit of the series.”

The Voice UK 2013 format changes have been revealed, with less live shows and more acts.
The BBC is planning on changing pretty much everything about the show next year, apart from the coaches.
Danny O’Donoghue, Will.i.am, Jessie J and Sir Tom Jones will all be back, and the panel will probably be the only thing to remain unchanged from last year.
There will be just three live shows this year but more acts on the teams, between 15 to 20.
The separate Sunday results show has been axed in favor of a live results show on the Saturday night.
“There will be a lot of changes,” Danny O’Donoghue explained. “For starters, there will be more blind auditions.
“And we are increasing the numbers on each team from 10 to 15 or 20.
“Live shows will be cut from six to just three and the results will be on the same night as far as I know.”

Danny promised fans that the same thing wouldn’t happen next Spring, telling the Daily Star Sunday: “The four coaches and the BBC know what to do to make sure this series is even better than the first one.
“We all agreed we need to get the songs and the artists out sooner.
“We were all throwing ideas down on the table and talked about writing a song for the winner to release as soon as the show finishes.
“The songs will be available to download on the same night to create a buzz and create a back catalogue and create an appetite for the artists.”

Zelf heb ik er niet zo'n probleem mee om te zeggen dat terwijl ik een programma zit te kijken, op een forum mee post en dat dat het leuker maakt. Het tweede scherm (weliswaar iets anders dan een forum) is erg in opkomst, en al best geaccepteerd.
Wel heb ik dat als ik een keer bij mijn ouders ben en we bijvoorbeeld DWDD kijken, ik uit moet kijken met wat ik zeg. Die zijn het niet gewend om zo negatief te zijn als ze ergens naar kijken
En dan toch nog even echt on topic en aanhakend op de huidige discussie. Ik denk dat alle veranderingen weleens positief kunnen gaan uitpakken en we mogelijk heel wat minder te klagen hebben dan vorig jaar. Al is het natuurlijk altijd afwachten, of het toch niet weer verzand in een saaie boel.

Het zou eerst een stuk later beginnen. Vorig jaar waren vooral de audities erg leuk, door de coaches etc. En ben zeer benieuwd naar de nieuwe opzet en hoe dat gaat uitwerken. Typisch dat ze in het buitenland wel echt wat nieuws proberen. En welke woorden will.i.am nu weer gaat verzinnen. Er waren veel mensen die hem minder vonden, maar hij was vorig jaar mijn persoonlijke favoriet als coach geweldig, maar helaas op zaterdag en Paasavond. Misschien ben ik er bij, maar zaterdag is altijd lastig.

The new series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is proving more popular than ever on ITV, reaching a series high last night.
An average audience of 7.3 million viewers watched the show, climbing to 7.7 million with those who caught up on ITV+1 included.

The Sex Bomb singer’s fellow judge Will.i.am has hit out at Universal for their handling of the situation.
He told Digital Spy: ‘I don't think people were considering today's behaviour and how we digest content. It was television five years ago. I hope we've learned from that because I'm part of this show.I hope the label that the artists have to go with have learned from it,
‘So with this year's winner, we already have songs ready to go. The label need to have an understanding of what the market is thirsting for and yearning for.’

In Groot-Brittannië gaat het tweede seizoen van The Voice zaterdag van start. In het tweede jaar doen alle coaches in de oude formatie mee: Tom Jones, Jessie J, Will.i.a.m en Danny O’Donoghue nemen opnieuw plaats in de rode stoelen. De producenten willen dat de show zich zoveel mogelijk onderscheidt van andere talentenjachten. Onderdeel daarvan is dat de coaches enorm moeten letten op hun woordkeuze.
Omdraaien
De deelnemers in het programma mogen bijvoorbeeld nooit ‘kandidaten’ genoemd worden, maar altijd ‘artiesten’. De coaches mogen zichzelf ook nooit omschrijven als ‘jurylid’. “Een van de belangrijkste dingen is dat ze nooit mogen zeggen is dat de stoelen omdraaien, maar dat ze keren. Dus als Jessie op de rode knop drukt voor een act – die altijd artiest genoemd wordt en nooit deelnemer – moet ze zeggen: ‘Ik heb me voor je omgekeerd’”, aldus een bron in The Sun.

De coaches wordt verteld dat ze daar niet van mogen afwijken. De makers van The Voice zijn er trots op dat het programma zo anders is dan X Factor, dus de coaches moeten ook positief zijn in hun feedback naar de acts. Er wordt hier niet gemeen gedaan. Dat komt omdat iedereen die meedoet kan zingen en je hier geen clowns ziet. De coaches worden aangemoedigd om uit hun stoel te komen en de deelnemers te begroeten na de auditie, of die nou succesvol was of niet.”
