Ik heb al aangegeven dat we nog een aantal titels in beraad hadden. Hieronder de uitkomst van het overleg:
De Bijbel
Dit is een levens- c.q. wereldbeschouwelijk boek en eigenlijk de basis van een hele religie. Ons inziens is het om die redenen niet geschikt voor de boekentop 100.
Ter vergelijking: een aantal boeken met een zelfde soort inslag, zij het met een wat wetenschappelijker basis, kunnen ook niet meedoen. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan 'The Origin of Species' van Darwin.
Ter verduidelijking zullen we hiervoor ook een categorie opnemen bij de omschrijvingen van boeken die niet mee kunnen doen.
Johan Huizinga – Herfsttij der Middeleeuwen
Op grond van informatie die op internet te vinden is, lijkt dit boek tot de niet-verhalende non-fictie gerekend te moeten worden en kan helaas dan ook niet meedoen.
Pieter Jelles Troelstra - Rispinge Alde en Nije Fersen
Dit blijkt een poëziebundel te zijn. Omdat je poëzie naar de aard ervan anders beoordeelt dat proza, is poëzie sowieso al uitgesloten van de top 100. Ook dit boek telt dus niet mee.
Thomas More – Utopia
Dit is een wereldbeschouwelijk boek, waarin een ideale staat beschreven wordt. Niet-verhalende non-fictie en kan dus niet meedoen.

Vraag ik me zomaar af
Ik vergelijk het met de oude rauwe Blues. Wordt ook door veel blanke jongetjes niet gewaardeerd maar als een nummer door de stones of een modernere shitband wordt gecoverd dan lopen ze er ineens mee weg.
