The story:

Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas... a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.

Bekende problemen in GTA – San Andreas:

Het geluid (en de ondertiteling) loopt in veel in-game filmpjes niet synchroon! Ook heb ik last van het wegvallen van de sound-fx, terwijl ik de radiostations wel gewoon blijf horen in mijn voertuig!

Dit is een bekend probleem, welke heel gemakkelijk op te lossen is. Voer de volgende stappen uit:

Ga naar Start -> Uitvoeren

Typ dxdiag in en druk op enter

Ga naar het tabblad Geluid

Zet bij de DirectX Features de Hardware Sound Acceleration Level op: Basic acceleration

Exit en spelen maar! Het probleem zou nu opgelost moeten zijn.

Ik zie de voetgangers maar voor de helft of soms zelfs helemaal niet!

Dit is een probleem welke veel gebruikers van (oudere) Ati videokaarten hebben. Het is niet duidelijk of het enkel aan de drivers ligt, of aan de combinatie drivers + game. Oplossing is in veel gevallen alsvolgt:

Uninstalleer je drivers en herstart je computer

Download en installeer de Ati Catalyst 4.9 drivers (met Control Centre). Ze zijn te downloaden van deze locatie:
.Net Framework is een vereiste voor deze drivers, welke te downloaden is van deze locatie.

Herstart je computer en verwijder het volgende bestand: C:\Documents and Settings\Je gebruikersnaam\My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files\gta_sa.set
Hierdoor zijn je settings gereset, dus wanneer je het spel opstart dien je het opnieuw in te stellen. Je savegames ben je in ieder geval _niet_ kwijt.
