Een erg kwalijke zaak. Hopelijk is het niet Elon Musk die niet met zijn vingers van de knoppen af kon blijven. Maar er moet zo snel mogelijk een onderzoek plaatsvinden over hoe dit kan gebeuren. When Russian forces launched the Kharkiv offensive on May 10, defending Ukrainian troops found their Starlink terminals unresponsive, The Washington Post reported on May 17.
The journalists spoke to soldiers serving with Ukraine’s 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, who said that Russian electronic interference had shut down Starlink connectivity near the border. That meant that the defending units were unable to use their recon drones as enemy troops poured into Kharkiv Oblast.
“We were left at a certain point completely blind,” a Ukrainian drone unit commander said.
“This was the biggest problem, we didn’t see how they were moving, we only worked through radio or through phones where they still worked.”
The report notes that it was the first time Starlink terminals (manufactured and serviced by SpaceX) were successfully disabled on the battlefield.

But Mr Xi himself did not echo the tone of these lofty compliments. Instead, his remarks were more perfunctory – even bland. Mr Putin, he said, was a “good friend and a good neighbour”. For China, the welcome ceremony and show of unity is in its interests, but lavishing its guest with praise is not.

- Door vrijwilligers gesourcede StarLink terminals kunnen buiten de boot vallen
- Rus gebruikt alleen in het midden-oosten ofzo gesourcede StarLinks, die technisch simpel zijn te identificeren en dus ook uitgezet worden als het in de gaten loopt
- Op het moment dat oekraine grondgebied verliest, zetten ze StarLink ontvangst in dat gebied uit, StarLink levert immers niet in rus, maar die 'cellen' zijn vrij groot, dan kan dat aan de westkant het ook voor oekraine niet meer werkt

China kijkt hierin puur naar haar eigen belangen, en die zijn niet altijd in lijn met die van Rusland.

"We have to be sober and understand that they (Russian troops) are going deeper into our territory. Not vice versa. And that's still their advantage," Zelensky said.
Ukraine's second-largest city of Kharkiv is a major Russian target, but Moscow understands that it would be "very difficult" to try to take it.
"It is a big city, and they understand that we have forces that will fight for a long time," Zelensky added.

Dit zal wel moeilijk worden voor de VN. Niets zeggen is lullig voor Hamas, da's goedkeuren. Maar afkeuren is vragen om commentaar waarom Russische aanvallen op ziekenhuizen op stilzwijgen van de VN kunnen rekenen. Wat is nu wijsheid.
