Of de Krim terug te veroveren is wordt vooral bepaald door het doorbreken van de landbrug. Herroveren de Oekrainers de rest van Kheros oblast en Zaporizia oblast dan wordt het bevoorraden van de Krim erg lastig. Dan krijg je een scenario zoals bij Kherson stad. Zeker als Oekraine wapens krijgt met een groter berijk. Dan wordt de krimbrug aan gort gebombardeerd. Dan blijft alleen bevoorrading via water over en dat is beperkt. Via havens moet dan niet alleen de militaire middelen worden aangevoerd maar ook alles voor de burger bevolking.quote:

Its impossible. Every bridge crossing the Dniepr river at that area into southern Kherson has been blown. Moving heavy weapons into that area, especially what limited tanks they have or will acquire, along with artillery forces is simply too much of an already degraded Ukrainian military to accomplish.
There's only two ways to go about it. One is suicide, another is a long and brutal campaign.
Firstly, the suicidal option: A successful crossing into Southern Kherson and establishing a secure beachhead thats sustainable and able to expand and break any efforts at containment. Right away, this is just not possible for them. It would be an act of insanity to even attempt this.
Secondly, pushing south from Zapor. and pushing towards the sea of Azov. A risky ploy that would come under relentless attacks from unmitigated air, sea, and artillery assets. Any ground taken, comes at an enormous loss of a life, just like in Kharkiv, and northern Kherson, but much worse. This is ontop of a high intensity attrition situation around Bakhmut, which Ukraine seems hellbent on holding no matter the cost, even if the cost is the war in the long run, on some faint hope that the west will escalate its commitments eventually.
Now all that said, is assuming the Russians just sit on their hands and do nothing with the immense amounts of man power they added to the skeleton force they started the war with. The amount of men and equipment needed for this kind of operation, is just not in the cards for Ukraine. What I would imagine would happen, is the moment Ukraine attempts any kind of offensive anywhere else, the Russians will rotate forces around to bog them down, with enough assets to go in pursuit, and then strike again in the north of the country with a large contingent of fresh troops around Sumy and Kharkiv, alongside the tense fighting as mentioned before, ongoing around Donbas. In short, this political aim of retaking Crimea, is how Ukraine loses the war. Overstretched and pressured on 3-4 fronts, amidst a botched offensive into the south will lead to panic and collapse.
Something else to consider here, is that until recently, the Russian forces deployed to Ukraine were too numerically insignificant to pursue retreating enemies, offering only artillery fire in most instances. Imagine a botched counter offensive in the south leads to a messy retreat and the outright slaughter or capture of a considerable chunk of those forces, and as mentioned before, they have hardened those lines, and have them properly manned with sufficient forces. They're no longer performing rear guard actions and letting the artillery diminish the enemy outright until they retreat and return to former positions. They're holding ground and repelling the enemy outright.

Toch wel opmerkelijk dat kadirov soort van zegt dat hij het liefst onafhankelijkheid zou willen voor chchenie. Maar hij heeft te veel voordeel om Rusland de rug te keren, tenzij Rusland implodeert en hij gebruik maakt van de situatie zoals de chchenen begin jaren 90 deden bij de ontbinding van de Sovjets.

Wagner's Army of diseased convicts - the doctors in Yuvileine (Russian controlled Ukraine) refuse to provide medical assistance to the Wagner mercenaries due to the fact that most of them are carriers of such diseases as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, syphilis, tuberculosis and pneumonia.

HIV - consistently taking a cocktail of anti retrovirals (pills and/or injections). Blood borne tranmission protection ... so gloves and eye goggles when in direct vicinity of patient's bodily fluids.
AIDS (late stage HIV infection w multiple other opportunistic diseases on board) - these patients can have crazy infections and cancer, depending on how long they have HIV and how low their T cell count is. These patients will require anti retroviral therapy and a potentially a lot of other meds and surgeries to keep them alive. We're talking brain viruses, skin viruses, lung viruses, random bacterial and fungal infections, skin and blood cancers, all of which normal immune systems can fight off without issue. You have to have a lottttt of resources to care for this. Blood borne tranmission protection ... so gloves and eye goggles when in direct vicinity of patient's bodily fluids.
Hepatitis - these patients range anywhere from needing anti-virals like interferon to needing liver transplants and other surgical procedures and intesive care units to prevent them from dying from hepatitis induced liver cancer or liver failure. Usually gonna die a slow death if the hepatitis has caused liver faiilure. Blood borne tranmission protection ... so gloves and eye goggles when in direct vicinity of patient's bodily fluids.
Syphilis - antibiotics. Or neurosurgery or icu if it's gotten to your brain. Usually gonna die if it's gotten to your brain. At least this one is harder to get - unless youre fucking each other in the Ukrainian forest.
TB - the most infectious of all these diseases. Patients should be kept isolated from other people in negative pressurized rooms with aerosol isolation (N95 mask). Therapy is months of hardcore antibiotics (if the TB hasnt already become resistant to antibiotics). Surgery may be required if the bacteria have started damaging the lungs and other organs / bones in the body.
If you ask me, TB is the real fucker in this list. Where are you going to find hundreds of isolation rooms in the middle of a war zone. I guess you could set up a TB wards. And how are you going to keep hundreds of criminals / prisoners in check for 6-12 months while you administer drug cocktails every day.
Anyhoo - it's a losing battle in a resource constrained setting. This partly why modern armies vaccinate and careful check the health of their fighters.

Up to 300 mercenaries from the Russian mercenary company Wagner Group were brought to the 15th city multidisciplinary hospital in Yuvileine, Luhansk Oblast, but doctors there have refused to treat them, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff reported
Wagner's Army of diseased convicts - the doctors in Yuvileine (Russian controlled Ukraine) refuse to provide medical assistance to the Wagner mercenaries due to the fact that most of them are carriers of such diseases as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, syphilis, tuberculosis and pneumonia.

HIV - consistently taking a cocktail of anti retrovirals (pills and/or injections). Blood borne tranmission protection ... so gloves and eye goggles when in direct vicinity of patient's bodily fluids.
AIDS (late stage HIV infection w multiple other opportunistic diseases on board) - these patients can have crazy infections and cancer, depending on how long they have HIV and how low their T cell count is. These patients will require anti retroviral therapy and a potentially a lot of other meds and surgeries to keep them alive. We're talking brain viruses, skin viruses, lung viruses, random bacterial and fungal infections, skin and blood cancers, all of which normal immune systems can fight off without issue. You have to have a lottttt of resources to care for this.
