Ze hebben nu een verzoek ingediend om de subpoenas in te trekken en te wachten tot de strafrechtelijke zaak is afgerond. In die strafrechtelijke zaak kunnen getuigen immuniteit krijgen voor vervolging maar dan mogen ze niet liegen. Als besloten wordt dat ze toch echt moeten getuigen tbv het onderzoek in de civiele zaak (waar geen ontkomen aan is volgens de experts die ik gehoord heb) en ze weigeren alsnog dan mag daar wettelijk de conclusie uit getrokken worden dat de beschuldigingen gegrond zijn (draw an adverse inference) en kan de AG van New York (Letitia James) een civiele rechtszaak (dus geen strafzaak!) beginnen. Geen idee of zij dan beslag kan gaan leggen, dat ben ik nog niet tegengekomen

Overigens mag een weigering om te getuigen bij een civiel onderzoek dan weer niet tegen ze gebruikt worden in de strafrechtelijke zaak wat op zich dan weer voordelig voor ze is.
