Trump Inaugural Committee Ordered to Hand Over Documents to Federal Investigators

Federal law prohibits foreign contributions to federal campaigns, political action committees and inaugural funds.
A spokesman for the inaugural committee said it was still reviewing the subpoena and intended to cooperate with the investigation. Those records were passed to Mueller's team, but Peter Carr, a spokesperson for the special counsel, declined to say whether the transactions are under investigation. Saudi Arabia and its coalition gave al Qaeda, Salafi militias and other factions in Yemen weapons that were produced by the United States, CNN reported Monday.
The weapons have also reportedly been captured by Iranian-backed rebels groups fighting the coalition in Yemen, meaning they may be reverse-engineered for intelligence.
A Department of Defense official confirmed to CNN that the U.S. is investigating the issue, as transferring military equipment to a third party would violate U.S.-Saudi coalition arms agreements.

Onder de Republikeinen in de Senaat, waar deze partij nog de meerderheid heeft, groeit weerstand tegen de dreigementen van Trump om de noodtoestand uit te roepen. Als genoeg Republikeinse senatoren de Democraten steunen, kan de Senaat de noodtoestand van Trump blokkeren. Dit besluit kan de president dan in theorie negeren. Mitch McConnell, de leider van de Republikeinen in de Senaat, heeft Trump echter al laten weten dat dit geen verstandige zet zou zijn.
Maak daar maar een 90% zekerheid van dat Trump dit in de praktijk gewoon gaat negeren. Want tot nu toe heeft hij structureel voor de slechtste keuzes voor het land en de beste keuzes voor hem gekozen.
Men moet in de VS nu ongeveer de belastingaangifte doen. Op Twitter stikt het nu van de boze mensen die ondanks de taxcut veel minder terugkrijgen dan vorig jaar.
