Op zich wel typische Trump taktiek, wat hem vroegah geen windeieren legde: Chaos creeren en daarmee lopsided dealtjes afdwingen van zwakkeren. Dat gaat natuurlijk nu ook gewoon werken in zijn hoofd: Handels-anarchie in de wereld creeren waarna het sterke Amerika makkelijk dealtjes kan maken met zwakke niet-georganiseerde andere landen.quote:

Het slaat natuurlijk ook helemaal nergens op. Trump is vooral boos dat hij niet allerlei kleine landen kan "bullyen" om dealtjes te sluiten die hem goed lijken. Nog frustrerender is dat de EU een groot handelsblok is met flinke slagkracht.quote:

Nu het VK eruit aan het stappen is zie je de ware aard van Trump. Er moet vooral een deal komen die gunstig is voor de VS, wat het VK wil boeit hem geen reet.
Ik snap ook niet waar die continue cognitieve dissonantie vandaan komt. Trump roept al de hele tijd dat in zijn zero sum wereld andere landen profiteren ten koste van de VS vanwege verdragen. Dat wil hij omkeren. Dat betekent dus dat een deal niet gunstiger gaat worden voor andere landen. Maar goed, de Tories maken zich ook keer op keer onsterfelijk belachelijk.
