Republicans steal the very power the people have over their government from the people, in exchange for bribes and cash. They do it for corporations. And the Trump administration is actually stealing our sovereign power and our democratic freedoms, and giving them to Russia, either for his own personal safety from their blackmail, or for financial gain in the form of the loans we know he's getting thanks to what his sons have said on record in years passed - we don't know which, and it is Republicans working feverishly to ensure we, the people, never find out.
Republicans are obviously, manifestly the problem. You can pick apart any small flaws in the Democratic party - they are legion, sure, as any human endeavor has myriad flaws.
But Republicans are not a flawed organization that otherwise fulfills its functions.
Republicans are the antithesis of governance. They are a cancer on democracy, a toxin to society and civilization. They are a virulence that infects us with fascism, autocracy, and dysfunction.
Trump is only the barest, fattest manifestation of that truth.

In "gesloten" communities in Florida, waar veel oudjes hun laatste jaren slijten, worden opiaten gebruikt om ze "rustig" en verslaafd te houden. Een simpel griepje is vaak genoeg om een ware kettingreactie van opiaat behandelingen te starten. Kijk naar Amerikaanse adverts op de teevee daar. Het zijn bijna allemaal commerciele bedrijven die deze oudjes peperdure medicijnen in de maag willen splitsen met lachende en voldaan kijkende model-ouderen die golf spelen en actief in de wereld staan: Are you on medicaid? Do you want a rich forfulled life?? "Ask you docter about DIADID" en meer van dit soort troep. Aan het eind van de ad krijg je dan steevast een razendsnel opgelezen lijst met bij-effecten.quote:

Je moet het natuurlijk ook in een tijdsperspectief plaatsen. De wereld is nog nooit zo geweldloos geweest als nu en een burgeroorlog is ook onwaarschijnlijk, zo niet onmogelijk. Dan focus je je toch eerder op andere aspecten van beleid.quote:

"Je moet hem meer tijd geven" zou een argument / gebrek aan perspectief zijn geweest als de Republikeinse commentatoren Trump veel hoger hadden geplaatst, maar daar staat hij eveneens bij de laagste 5. Na zijn eerste 100 dagen kan ik me nog voorstellen dat je de termijn wat kort vindt, maar die hebben we nu al bijna 4x volgemaakt en het wordt met de dag erger.quote:

Dat zijn alleen maar een stel idioten op de flank, die bovendien niet gekenmerkt worden door groot tactisch vernuft. Of hij is gewoon de minst geschikte man die ooit president werd. Gezien het totale gebrek aan vakkennis, de onvoorspelbaarheid, lak aan politieke mores, desinteresse voor wat er gaande is in zijn land is dat geen vergezochte conclusie.quote:

Misschien dat hij het nog redelijk op de rit krijgt de komende drie jaar en we over tien jaar wel anders oordelen. Maar dat zelfs Republikeinse experts hem een 2,5 geven zegt veel natuurlijk.
