Stoner goed gegokt met de zachte compound, race leek wel erg veel op die van vorig jaar, toen haalde Stoner Lorenzo op exact hetzelfde punt in.
Dovizioso ziet Rossi naar Yamaha terugkeren

Mooie plaatjes. Laguna blijft (na Assen natuurlijk) mijn favoriete race. Fantastische baan, altijd een spannende race en die atmosfeer die je alleen hebt in SoCal.

Italian press say Rossi to Yamaha

A straw-poll of MotoGP journalists showed that most believed Rossi would make the switch back to Yamaha in MotoGP but believed that Rossi should stay at Ducati to finish what he started.
Gazzetta's article adds credibility to the rumours that Rossi will be leaving Ducati at the end of the season.

. Geweldige kerel die Wilco. Jaaaaaaren geleden toen ik nog een klein jochie was ooit eens de hand geschud bij de TT.Ik denk ook niet dat het twee vingers in de neus wordt maar dat Lorenzo beter is dan Rossi lijkt me vrij duidelijk.

Overigens is het al vrijwel bevestigd dat Dovizioso Rossi's plek bij Ducati gaat innemen. Ze gaan ook een juniorteam opzetten met Scott Redding en Andrea Iannone. Laten we hopen dat Audi's geld Ducati weer op de goede weg zet, ik wil Hayden weer op het podium zien .

Stoner kiest niet voor avontuur in V8 Supercars

Valentino Rossi 'couldn't wait' for Ducati to find form says Davide Brivio

Brivio described Rossi's decision to measure himself against current championship leader Lorenzo in the same team as a "courageous" move.
"He has taken the most difficult path, because it takes guts to challenge Lorenzo, at the moment the rider in the best shape, with the same bike," said Brivio.
"Rossi puts himself at stake and has eveything to lose, you need balls for that. He demonstrates he still has a lot of motivation to try to win."
When Rossi left Yamaha for Ducati, most of his crew followed him - including renowned engineer Jeremy Burgess, who had also moved from Honda to Yamaha with the Italian. Brivio could not confirm whether Burgess would return to Yamaha as part of Rossi's new deal.
"Vale has expressed his desires, now it's up to Yamaha to decide," he said.

"Someone who has talent normally keeps it and doesn't lose it like this in two years," he stated.
"He is still young enough, he is 33, he has won a lot of races and if he has won them in the past, he can win them as well in the future and, with the Yamaha a better bike this year, it will be easier for him.
"It's true that us younger riders are getting stronger, more experienced and more consistent, but we have to remember that Valentino has won a lot of races. We have to respect that and keep it in mind."

Ducati are said to be still interested in recruiting Cal Crutchlow. However, with the factory team spaces taken up with Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden, the Briton is rumoured to have been offered a place in the planned 'Junior Team' alongside Moto2 front-runner Andrea Iannone, but with the promise of a full factory bike.
In the event that Crutchlow rejects this offer and continues in the satellite Yamaha team next season, Scott Redding is in line to graduate to MotoGP on the Ducati, following an impressive debut test on the Desmosedici GP12 at Mugello two weeks ago.

Dan had bijvoorbeeld Bradl door kunnen schuiven naar het fabrieksteam en had Dorna hun Rookie Rule kunnen houden. Waarom laten ze dat dan niet toe? Dat geld wordt echt wel uitgegeven, daar kan Dorna niets tegen doen. Zo maakt Honda nu dus een soort 'klantenversie' van de RC213V die teams kunnen kopen. Op zich een goed idee maar dat geld had ook in een extra team met een gewone RC kunnen zitten. Veel beter voor de sport.quote:

Voor de korte termijn is het goed dat hij naar Yamaha gaat en wellicht nog wat races wint, maar dat gaat er waarschijnlijk alleen maar weer voor zorgen dat Ezpeleta en die andere knurften bij Dorna weer achterover gaan leunen.quote:

Nicky Hayden expects Ducati to prosper and score best result of MotoGP season at Indianapolis

"It should be nice to ride that track on the 1000s, and it will be fun for the American fans to really get to see them in action. Last season, tyre wear was critical there, but hopefully the pavement will come in a bit better this year.
"I hope to be competitive starting on Friday, and I'll definitely be disappointed if we don’t get the best result of the season so far."
