Also on the show, originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Chan Marshall AKA Cat Power returns, and making their television debut are hotly-tipped Irish teenage four piece The Strypes with their take on the classic rhythm and blues sound of the 60s and 70s which has already won them a legion of fans including Paul Weller and Dave Grohl.

Sixteen-year-old New Zealand sensation Lorde, whose first single Royals has clocked up over six million hits on YouTube, makes her UK TV debut. Hailing from the Peak District, explosive garage rock duo Drenge, brothers Rory and Eoin Loveless, also make their first TV appearance with songs from their eponymous debut album.
