Documentary maker to the US for ‘real story’ on Holloway



WILLEMSTAD/ORANJESTAD – “When I looked her in the eyes, I knew that something was not right, and from that moment on, I ducked down in the case; and I am still on it”, says documentary maker Renée Gielen about Beth Twitty, the mother of Natalee Holloway. Gielen ducked down into one of worlds most discussed disappearance cases two-and-a-half years ago and was especially moved by the strange behavior of Natalee’s mother, whom she interviewed in June of 2005 in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Aruba for the Dutch TV-program TweeVandaag. “At that time, I didn’t know yet what I saw in her eyes; one thing I knew, I didn’t have a sad mother sitting in front of me. I know now what I saw then: a mother with a lot of problems.”
Gielen, who lives and works in Curacao, came earlier this year with video-recordings including declarations of persons involved, which put the case in a new light. Amigoe reported this and the Dutch current affairs programme Network broadcasted it thereupon. As a result of the recently published book of Beth Twitty ‘Loving Natalee, the true story of Aruban kidnapping and its aftermath’, she’s now working on a documentary with new material on tape, together with Dolph van Stapele, Peter Ranzijn, Michel Drente, and Suzanne Jansen.
Gielen is now getting ready to go to the United States for further inquiry. She describes Beth’s book as ‘an image building story with a first class rabble-rousing’.
“After I read the book, I got the feeling that there is something wrong here.” That confirmed her suspicions. The lies in the book and the many other doubtful claims and occurrences in the past 2.5 years made me think: Has Beth really wanted Natalee to be found?”
IDEAL DAUGHTER
Gielen points out that Natalee was never put on FBI’s official list of missing persons. She also says that the surveillance tape of the Holiday Inn that shows a blond woman, was not sent to the Forensic Institution in Rijswijk, because Twitty said that the woman was not Natalee. Gielen says that she has information that reveals that Natalee did not at all meet the image that her mother Beth likes to portray her: the dream daughter, a virgin that has never done something wrong in her life, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, has never experimented with drugs; the Christian girl that in all sorts of manners propagated her biblical ideas in volunteer work and was an example for all other young persons.
According to Gielen, the truth is the reverse of all of the above. Natalee has even been in a drug rehabilitation clinic right before she came to Aruba. The girl had such a good time in Aruba that she didn’t want to leave the island. Natalee had the male persons present ‘lick her belly jellies’ on the bar, was smoking dope on the beach, and her girlfriends even warned her not to drink so much, recites Gielen. Natalee’s ‘addiction’ was brought up in an interview that Gielen has on tape, with the Aruban taxi driver Trina (for her protection no family name), who also appears in the book (as the only taxi driver) called by her first name. She tells Gielen that when Beth’s by now second ex-husband and his friend Mitch were in her Taxi, they asked her if she can take them to cholhouses on the island. “When she asked why, they told her that Natalee has recently been in rehab in the US”, said Gielen.
Gielen dares to say that in the days, months, and by now years after the disappearance of her daughter, Beth Twitty wants just one thing: disguise Natalee’s outrageous behavior and the way she disappeared. She only needed one thing for that: a whipping boy. And that was Joran van der Sloot, the boy with whom she was seen last, in the company of the two Surinam brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe; they must have done it. Gielen says that Joran made the mistake by the first instance lie about leaving Natalee behind. “Besides, he writes that in his book, in which he does not spare himself.”
BE NO GOOD .
The assertions of Beth Twitty in the course of time confirm the idea that she has played a peculiar part. Gielen names a few examples. “Twitty manages to say in interviews – FOX News, Geraldo – that the Dutch government has used the tragic occurrences around hurricane Katrina to release the suspects in Aruba in September of 2005. ‘Rape is not a crime for the Dutch government’, she added.” Twitty asserts in the same interview that there are five declarations in which Joran van der Sloot admits having had sex with Natalee in his house and that Natalee became unconscious so now and then, while these declarations do not exist, says Gielen. “You must have a lot of courage, when you write in your book that during a meeting in Aruba with Ahata, you make the statement that everything was a cover-up from Aruba’s side and that the then chairman of Ahata would have whispered ‘yes, that’s correct’, while you can count that this can be checked, which I did”, says Gielen.
Twitty writes that the Strategic Communications Task Force that Aruba established, was done ‘to combat the negative media and to combat us’. “A member of the task force contradicts this and says that the task force has always tried not to take an extreme position. In the beginning, the strategic task force has even set herself up as liaison for her. They fixed hotels for her and facilitated her press conferences. They have even collected money.”
The member can only guess that Beth experienced the website – that nuanced her often unfounded statements and accusations that caused the island harm – as an attack on her.
Gielen also quotes that Twitty has repeatedly insinuated that her daughter had no bankcard with her, ‘because it was in her bedroom in Alabama’. “This while Jug Twitty –Natalee’s stepfather, whom Beth has meanwhile divorced – and a friend were talking in a taxi about Natalee withdrawing money twice since her disappearance, after which they have blocked her account.”
Beth writes in her book that she felt threatened by Charles Croes, who as owner of a ‘rental cell phone company’, was real fast involved with the case and offered help on all fronts. Beth says that he has pose as ‘clairvoyant’ and supposedly has asked her about her sex life when he was alone with her in the car. A girlfriend had rescued her just in time. “These are not the only insults of Twitty to Croes’ address. Croes tells his story in an interview I had with him recently, and that is completely different. Besides, Croes confirms Twitty’s ties with the White House. Jug Twitty told him: ‘I have very long fingers that can reach all the way to the White House’. It already appeared earlier that via Jug, Beth had contacts with Condoleezza Rice, who, via the Dutch Justice-minister, managed to have Aruba make the case a ‘high profile one’.

As many of you may have read, there appears to be some truth to a rumor that Police Chief Gerald Dompig is resigning from the Aruban Police Force. The rumors explode from there. One rumor has the police chief going to medical school. Wherever the truth lies, Gerald Dompig will resign. ...... Why?

Well, as the American media would have us believe, Dompig was incompetent, and he botched the investigation into Natalee Holloway's disappearance. That seems to be reason enough. And, I suspect most Americans will accept that reason as gospel.

Returning a moment to some recent insights from Art Wood, we learned (whether true or not) that only Narcotics investigators were assigned to Natalee's disappearance. Art Wood speaks emphatically that no homicide detectives were assigned to the case. Clearly, a blunder of this magnitude suggests ... as the American media would have us believe ... that a cover-up was in progress early on in the investigation.

Also, we learned that the Aruban police were privy to the Holiday Inn surveillance video of the front entrance prior to obtaining any statements from the three suspects (Sloot & Kalpoes). The police knew that the suspects were lying about the Holiday Inn drop-off, before they detained the two security guards. As I have concluded earlier, the Holiday Inn drop-off was immaterial to the case of Natalee's disappearance.

Given a late revelation of the close association between Boeti, a known, Holiday Inn-area, drug dealer, and Police Chief Dompig, we can surmise that much of the Aruban police's early tips came from Boeti. It has been revealed that it was Boeti's declarations that got the two security guards incarcerated and not any statements by the three suspects.

This leaves us with some interesting questions: 1) Why were the security guards detained? 2) Why were the three suspects detained? 3) Why no homicide detectives?

Apparently, we should be able to conclude that the Aruban police had far more information about the case than anyone has let on. First, it was a narcotics case. Second, it was suspected early on that Natalee Holloway overdosed. Third, the drugs that produced Natalee's overdose were supplied by one or both of the two security guards.

What about the detention of the three suspects? Why was that necessary?

Well, the Aruban police did not have a body. They needed a body in order to close the case. Since the three suspects were seen with Natalee that evening, and they were "expendable," they were detained. Why? Just to assist in finding Natalee's body? The Aruban police needed time to locate Natalee's body. Having someone in custody allowed the Aruba police ample time to search for Natalee's body.

All along, we have been led to believe in Boycott Bob's dull mental ability to boycott an area containing his statesmen's retirement investments. What if Boycott Bob's boys were not so dull? What if they had checked it out and knew their retirement funds were heavily invested in Aruba? What would be the downside of boycotting your own financial future?

Why would Boycott Bob entertain such an idea?

Well, if some of his prime constituents ... heavy political and/or financial influence ... had their children implicated in Natalee's overdose, then it might persuade Boycott Bob to maneuver in such a way as to protect them. If the upper echelon of political power in Aruba were privy to the measure ... and assured of limited collateral damage by an authoritative US State Department official ... an interesting conspiracy develops in order to protect the blue-blood offspring of Alabama.

The detention of the three suspects becomes a diversion to the main aspects of the case. Dompig may or may not have been privy to the arrangement. I suspect that he was not ... the reason for the gag orders. The three suspects remained in focus, because Natalee's body was needed in order to wrap up the case. I doubt anyone suspect a sailboat exit for Natalee's body.

Consequently, I believe Gerald Dompig is resigning from the Aruban Police Force, because he has come to the realization that he had been had. The American press destroyed him and his credibility. When he tried to inform us of what happened, he was quickly attacked and denounced by everyone. And, he was denied access to the case files in order to defend himself. Gerald Dompig has told us what happened as best the could. Many of us refused to believe him, because the American media has concocted the case into a chimera. And, Dompig's story doesn't match ... or we don't desire to hear the truth, if it is Dompig's truth.

4/7/2006 Dompig no longer on Holloway-case

ARUBA - Since the beginning of this week, the Aruban Chief of Police is no longer the leader of the team that investigates the disappearance of Natalie Holloway.

Spokesperson of the Public Prosecutor, Marianne Croes mentioned today that Dompig was taken off the case, but didn't want to say why. According to Croes, all the four district chiefs of police have been assigned a new portfolio. Holloway has been missing since May of 2005. Dompig was the second leader of the investigation team. The first one was Jan van der Straten, who retired and is the chief of police in Bonaire for the period of one year.



ORANJESTAD (AAN) -- DIARIO interviewed High Commissioner mr. Ronny Bernadina, related with the changes that arose surrounding the investigation of the case of the disappearance of the American student, Natalee Holloway, which is still underway.

The High Commissioner explained that the police force designates the persons who will work on certain cases, and in this case, Commissioner Gerold Dompig was working on this investigation, but what happened is that last Monday, Mr. Dompig approached Mr. Bernadina, and asked for his retirement as lead investigator on the tactical aspects of the Holloway case.

Bernadina explained that when such a case presents itself, all the responsibility goes to the Public Prosecutor.

The High Commissioner said that he doesn’t want to go into details on the reasons why Mr. Dompig took such a decision, but mr. Bernadina made it be known that he sat down with the Attorney General already and they put another person at the head of the investigation. The High Commissioner reiterated that Mr. Gerold Dompig himself asked to be removed.

The High Commissioner indicated that the team is actually the one that does the main task, and not the tactical guide.

Currently, the investigative team is reinforced by the help of Holland, in what refers to the technical, material and search aspects, which is much appreciated.
These are parts that come into play in the ‘procesverbaal’ and that at any given moment, the Public Prosecutor has to present to the judge, and this will not bring any problems for the investigation process.

About the fact that Mr. Dompig is no longer assistant [deputy] to mr. Bernadina anymore, the latter said that every year there are changes in this position, and it had to have happened last January, and in this case, Commissioner Krozendijk is mr. Bernadina’s replacement for this year and for 2007 they will name another person. He emphasized that this is a clarification he wanted to make.

ORANJESTAD—The fact that there is another commissioner in charge of the investigation of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway led to some speculation about what was the real motive. These speculations took life especially in the American media, which in one way or the other continues with a twisted view about Aruba.

Bon Dia Aruba received information that a producer from the cable channel MSNBC made a connection between a supposed drug dealer, B.N., and Natalee Holloway, given that the former admitted to selling drugs to the latter. The problem is, according to this producer, that this person is Commissioner Dompig’s brother-in-law. The American journalist related the whole conversation he had with B.N., in the presence of Fred Golba, who recently was still in Aruba, under the request of Commissioner Dompig himself. Among other things, one of the investigators in the investigative team admitted to the journalist that B.N. is a person of interest, and that he gave Fred Golba the freedom to investigate him, but not officially. The police never let Golba conduct an official investigation.

According to the MSNBC producer, B.N. is known on the beach in front of Moomba. He himself was present when B.N. was selling cocaine and marijuana. “Police were passing by, but never even saw what was happening”, the reporter said in a letter which arrived at Bon Dia Aruba. So much so that B.N. even showed Fred Golba a ‘hiding place’ from where he was able to see Natalee’s hotel room, according to the American producer.

B.N. related too that he knew beforehand of the Alabama group’s travels, and that Natalee approached him to buy drugs. Here, the journalist quoted B.N. saying that Natalee even asked for alcohol (something which is not logical, given that the Alabama group had an ‘all inclusive’ package which also included alcohol). Following the American journalist’s account in a letter, B.N. procured for the whole Alabama group to obtain access to drugs during their stay in Aruba. B.N. went into detail about everything to do with Natalee and the group with the journalist, and this whole conversation was recorded. The same member of the investigative team who was in contact with the journalist asked for this recording, given that the team did not have all these details. But the reporter did not give him the recording.

It was interesting that B.N. said to the American gentleman that he knows more about the case, but that only money would make him talk.

What’s more, B.N. called other reporters (local) to say that he knows what happened to Natalee Holloway. But this person never really concretized what he wanted to say.

GVC was bothering Natalee on Friday night at Carlos N Charlies. She was dancing with another classmate and this guy (GVC) came up behind her and started humping and grinding on her back and groping her body. She turned around and yelled at him to leave her alone so he left.



But he came back later with this friend AB and came up behind Natalee and started doing it again, so she turned around and hit him in the chest.

GVC did slap Natalee in the face.

Then her classmate got physical with this GVC and they started scuffling but the other MB kids stopped it before it became more.

There is no doubt to me all these guys knew each other and are predators and misognyists.

But who allowed this sense of entitlement? Who didn't slap them when they got out of line. Like Father like son?

It's no wonder most of the charges against these suspects includes the word, premeditation.

THE white pick-up

MANSUR: Yes, ma`am, because there`s another witness that, before that, told someone that works at the hotels that he saw a white pick-up over there by the Holiday Inn, in which three persons were also in, all of them male, carrying what looked like the body of a girl, putting it in the back of the white pick-up and driving away with it.

GRACE: OK. So you`ve got a white pick-up at the Holiday Inn, where Natalee was staying. You`ve got a white pick-up at the landfill. Both eyewitnesses state that there were three individuals, I`m assuming male. But can they give an identification of Joran Van Der Sloot or the Kalpoe brothers?

MANSUR: None of them have given that kind of a description. They haven`t identified the three males. But it`s very important to note that the witness on the beach by the Holiday Inn has absolutely no knowledge of the witness over there to the east side of the island by the landfill or dump. They don`t know each other, but still they give the same description of the same white pick-up.

GRACE: OK, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Jossy Mansur, remember the fishermen that were out in the water? Didn`t they state they saw a pick-up along the beach that night?

Daarna nog naar Bahia Daarna naar Karma lounge entoen dat om 4 uur ging sluiten zijn we met een paar mensen die Booty kent nog mee gegaan naar een feest in een vaag zaaltje tussen cactussen. Dit ging door tot vanmorgen 7 uur. Toen we naar buiten gingen om naar huis te gaan hadden we besef van tijd en schrok ik van het felle zonlicht buiten.

Maar goed bij de moomba, op zondag altijd erg leuk en onze pleegbroer booty is er ook bijna altijd, dag in dag uit. We hadden met booty afgesproken om hem daar te ontmoeten. Booty was deze keer wederom in topvorm. Gladde praatjes, wazig maar nooit onaardig, altijd lachen en neemt zijn taak als pleegbroer ook nog altijd even serieus. Big criticism about Aruban investigation in the case of Natalee Holloway

ORANJESTAD(AAN): Dutch criminal law experts recently expressed big criticism about the Aruban police investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway
They call the investigation methods strange and unprofessional. They expressed much criticism as well about Commissioner Gerold Dompig’s behavior.

“It is incomprehensible that police, after an important tip about the location of Natalee Holloway’s body, to not go search immediately.”

This is according to a criminal law scholar of the University of Amsterdam, Menno Dolman.

The place in the dunes where they searched last week was left alone for long weeks, which could have made that important tips be lost.
It was a month after that an anonymous man called Dompig in tears with information about where the body of Natalee was buried, that authorities sprung into action.

“This is very strange”, according to a legal psychologist, Peter van Koppen. “Normally the area is closed off immediately, to dig and search for clues, but not in Aruba”.

Before police started to search, Dompig spoke openly with the press about new clues and another search which was on the way.

“Total madness”, according to a criminal law expert of the University of Leiden, Hans Nijboer. “This is a total error”.

According to Nijboer it is against all principles and illogical to bring forth details of the tips, before starting the search. Competent investigators investigate the case.

“The media is the last option for investigators”, according to Dolman. “You do not give out information that only the guilty could know.

If this happens, then it becomes very troublesome to know if the details in the declarations are authentic or if the person read this in the newspapers”.

According to the Dutch article, Dompig does not appear worried about these details. He gave details of the case easily to the press. However, the facts and the theories of which he spoke, contradict each other.

He said that he believes that Natalee perished due to an overdose of a combination of alcohol and drugs, that she consumed on the night of her disappearance.

However, in an interview with a Dutch newspaper, he said that he believes that Natalee lost her life as a victim of a criminal act (rape and murder).

According to Dolman, these two versions contradict each other. Dolman suspects that Dompig did this to keep the media at bay.


According to van Koppen, perhaps this is an investigation tactic on the part of Dompig, where he is now tapping the suspects’ conversation along with their friends and families, in order to catch something perhaps during a telephone conversation. Dolman doesn’t believe in a tactical action of such magnitude. According to Dolma, this is done for a stalled case.
