Vergeet niet hoe Amerikanen bijna 24 uur per dag met informatie worden gebombardeerd. Ik deed daar wel eens de TV uit en sommigen snapten echt niet dat ik prima geïnformeerd bleef als ik in plaats van de tv de radio (meestal NPR) aanzette.

Zolang de toon maar klopt en niemand erop wijst dat er iets gebeurt waar iets op te letten valt, wordt er altijd wel iets geabsorbeerd, ook als er op een volstrekt plausibele toon iets over een gorillakanaal wordt gezegd.

Some of that is done directly to the president, and Wolff gives a clear vision of how each of their strategies work: Bannon through raw power, Priebus through flattery via the Republican leadership, and Kushner through connections to the business world. But those strategies pale in significance when compared to the really powerful method being used in the White House: leaking. Everyone is leaking about everyone else; everyone is accusing everyone of leaking about everyone else.
