Als het gaat om journalistiek ondersteunen: Heb meer de indruk dat TheGuardian geld nodig heeft. Niet WaPo of NYTimes of WSJ. Weet iemand of dat klopt? En hoe zit dat met Nederlandstalig nieuws, want dat lijkt ook wel steeds schraler te worden?
The Guardian draait verlies inderdaad maar is geen bedrijf met winstoogmerk maar eigendom van een hele rijke ideeele stichting maar daar is wel gesneden in het journalisten bestand, Guardian heeft volgens mij ook geen inkomsten uit andere activiteiten dus is heel erg afhankelijk van financieele steun. WaPo draait geen verlies meer na 2016 en heeft dan ook een flinke berg journalisten aangenomen, NY Times draait volgens mij ook geen verlies en heeft al de meeste journalisten van alle kranten in de VS, zo'n 1400.
Persoonlijk steun ik alle drie, Guardian met een contributie, NYT en WaPo met abonnementen. In Nederland heb ik een abbo op het VK, overigens. Ik vind kwaliteit zijn geld waard op journalistiek gebied.
In Nederland doen, volgens mij, de Volkskrant en NRC het financieel goed, de rest matig tot slecht, de eerste twee blijven ook stabiel of stijgen qua abonnees.

Als het maken van een selfie met Trump (of welke andere politicus dan ook) je mening over hem verandert, dan spoor je niet. Het beleid of de uitspraken veranderen er namelijk niet door.
