De tape
Duct tape, originally known as duck tape, is a strong, fabric-based, multi-purpose adhesive tape, usually silver or black in color, although many other colors, including transparent, are also available, and is usually 1.88 inches wide. It was originally developed during World War II in 1942 under the name "Duck Tape" as a waterproof sealing tape for ammunition casings. Permacel, then a division of Johnson & Johnson, used a rubber-based adhesive to help the tape resist water and a fabric backing to facilitate ripping. Because of these properties, it was also used to quickly repair military equipment, including jeeps, guns, and aircraft.
After the war, the housing industry boomed and people started using duct tape for many other purposes. The name "duct tape" came from its use on heating and air conditioning ducts, a purpose for which it, ironically, has been deemed ineffective by the state of California and by building codes in most other places in the U.S. (which means professionals are restricted from using it in systems they install, but do-it-yourselfers are not). However, metallized and aluminum tapes used by professionals are still often called "duct tapes".

Ik gebruik het echt overal voor, als verpakkingstape, voor elektra, om spullen op zijn plek te houden, als afdichtingstape, als bescherming voor scherpe randen en hoeken, enz, enz.
Ook hebben we het afgelopen jaar gebruikt voor het reparen van de tent (winkelhaak in het dak, en één stok geknikt (parasolpaal ernaast getaped als spalk))

ik werk op een technische dienst op een camping en ductape heeft mijn reputatie/leven al meerdere malen gered. stuke tuinslag/stuk snoer/ lekkage`s alles is te fixen met ductape.
Wij organiseren nog wel eens feesten e.d. Bovenaan de lijst van benodigde spullen staat altijd Ducktape (veel rollen!!), zelfs nog voor de audio-installatie

Moet alleen zeggen dat het wel vrij duur is, maar ik koop altijd die goedkope van de Gamma. Zit volgens mij weinig verschil in met de 'echte'. Het is iig stevig genoeg

Op MTV is er een aflevering van "Made" waar zo een meisje helemaal idolaat is van duck tape. Uiteindelijk maakt ze zelfs haar prom-dress ervan Hij was best mooi geworden.

is beetje hetzelfde, er is ook gorilla glue... dat plakt een beetje in het begin daarna hardt het uit en zet het uit, en dan wordt het KEIHARD... en krijg je het zelfs met aceton niet van je handen af

Gorilla glue is een merk polyurethaanlijm en is hetzelfde als b.v. bisn/patex constructielijm. Overigens is het minder sterk dan polyvinylacetaatlijm beter bekent als witte en gele houtlijm. Het voordeel van pu ten opzichte van pva is het vullende vermogen. Ook moet je PUlijm niet op je handen krijgen niet omdat het zwarte vlekken geeft en er bijna niet af gaat, het is kankerverwekkend in vloeibare vorm.
