Volgens russische propaganda en officiele Kremlin cijfers zouden er 700.000 soldaten in de grensregio zijn. Volgens Britsche analysten zijn 54000 soldaten in de regio, dit is inclusief het aantal dat vecht in Oekraine. Gezien het gemak deze offensief in Kursk uitgevoerd is, met de weinig weerstand vanuit Russische zijde. lijkt het me heel plausible om te stellen dat rusland al hun reservers in moeten zetten in Kursk. En dat het aantal soldaten dichter bij Britsche schatting ligt dan bij het officiele aantal genoemd door Kermlin.

De aanval in de Koersk oblast is een afleidingsmanoeuvre.
Het is deze zomer nog niet vaak zo heet geweest in Zuid Oekraïne. Het terrein in de moerasdelta van de Dnjepr is nu op z'n droogst. De Russen hebben volgens mij de laatste maanden troepen weggehaald van de oostelijke rivieroever.
De echte Oekraïense aanval komt straks in de oostelijke Khersonregio.
