A UN agency is investigating accusations that Russia hacked into Ukrainian television and flashed violent imagery from its invasion of the country on children’s channels, according to a report.
Ukraine and other European nations have complained to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) about the alleged satellite interference impacting navigation services and television shows, The Telegraph reported.
Ukraine, in its complaint to the ITU on 3 June, recorded at least 11 cases of interference in the last three months affecting dozens of Ukrainian television programmes, the report added. ITU is a specialized agency of the UN responsible for matters related to information and communication technologies.
The alleged interference by Russia hit children’s channels and resulted in the flashing of violent images of Moscow’s bloodied invasion between the regular programming. The hacking jammed GPS signals and could endanger air traffic control, according to the EU in a statement submitted to the ITU earlier this month.

Bulgaria, one of Moscow’s closest allies during the Cold War era, joined NATO in 2004. Although the presidential post is mostly ceremonial, it provides a strong platform to influence public opinion. Large parts of the country’s population of about 6.6 million, surveys show, share pro-Russian sympathies based on historical and cultural bonds between the two nations.

European artillery shell producers are calling on the European Union to increase funding to create a strong production base.
The ammunition manufacturers Nammo and KNDS stated this during the Eurosatory defense exhibition in Paris.
The manufacturers emphasized that the European Union should invest in expanding the production of artillery shells now, as companies will not be able to increase production rates immediately, but systematically.

In the Tambov Oblast of Russia, a drone attacked an oil depot, causing a fire.
This was reported by the Russian ASTRA telegram channel.
Early in the morning on Friday, June 28, the attack was announced by the governor of the region, Maxim Yegorov.
According to him, the drone allegedly hit an oil depot in the Michurinsky municipal district of the Tambov region at 4:35 am local time.
He noted that as a result, a “small fire” had broken out, which had quickly been localized with the involvement of 11 fire crews.
According to Yegorov, there were no casualties. If necessary, local residents will be evacuated.

Russia’s defense minister has instructed the armed forces to counter US reconnaissance drones flying over the Black Sea.
The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation published a statement.
This is due to the fact that these UAVs allegedly provide targeting information to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which use high-precision Western weapons to strike at Russian military facilities.
They also added that the flights of US strategic reconnaissance aircraft over the Black Sea allegedly “increase the likelihood of incidents in the airspace with aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.”
That’s why Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, who recently took office, instructed the Russian army’s general staff to make “proposals for measures to respond promptly to provocations.”

Denmark has trained the first 50 Ukrainian specialists to service F-16 fighter jets, which will soon be put into service with the Ukrainian Air Force.
Major General Jan Dam, Commander of the Royal Danish Air Force, said this in an interview with TV2.
According to him, most of them have already returned to Ukraine to prepare to receive the first fighter jets at Ukrainian air bases.
The major general said that the next group of 50 Ukrainians would also start training soon.
He added that the first group of Ukrainian pilots was still being trained. They are currently learning to fly at night.
