McConney also explained that in addition to the $130,000 paid to Cohen, there was $50,000 handwritten on Cohen’s invoice for payment to a company called Red Finch for “technical services.” The total of those two amounts, $180,000, was then doubled by Weisselberg, to $360,000, to account for the tax hit Cohen might receive, and a $60,000 bonus was also added, for a total payment of $420,000.

“Are you aware of another instance where a reimbursement was doubled to account for taxes?” Assistant District Attorney Matthew Colangelo asked. “No,” McConney said.

Earlier Monday, when prosecutors asked McConney about Cohen, he said tartly: “He said he was a lawyer.”

Asked whether Cohen worked in the company’s legal department, McConney replied, “I guess so,” drawing laughs from the packed courtroom.

Daniels said Trump “stood up between me and the door, not in a threatening manner.” Daniels said she told him: “I’ve got to go. He said, ‘I thought we were getting somewhere, we were talking.’”

Daniels said she did not remember many of the subsequent details, saying, “I think I blacked out,” but that she wasn’t drugged or drunk.

“Next thing I know I was on the bed,” Daniels said, “the opposite side of the bed from where we’d been standing. I had my clothes and shoes off. We were in missionary position.”

She testified that she didn’t remember how her clothes came off but did recall that “I was staring at the ceiling. I didn’t know how I got there. I was trying to think about anything other than how I got there.”

Daniels said Trump did not wear a condom and that they didn’t discuss that. “I didn’t say anything at all.” She said the encounter was brief.

“I will also note that I was surprised that there were not more objections” from Trump’s lawyers, Merchan said. “The defense has to take some responsibility for that.”

Niet per se. Ford gaf een pardon aan Nixon zonder dat Nixon schuldig bevonden was, dit is nooit getest voor de rechter dus men weet eigenlijk niet of het aan de regel voldoet maar er is wel een, soort van, precendent voor.

Ik heb de link naar het wikpedia artikel hierover al gegeven, dat doet uit de doeken hoeveel er eigenlijk nooit hard is bepaald omdat het simpelweg nooit voor de rechter geweest is.
