De aanklager probeert de verdediging "ik wist van niets" onbruikbaar te maken door te wijzen op de micromanager die Trump is.

She testified that she didn’t remember how her clothes came off but did recall that “I was staring at the ceiling. I didn’t know how I got there. I was trying to think about anything other than how I got there.”
Daniels said Trump did not wear a condom and that they didn’t discuss that. “I didn’t say anything at all.” She said the encounter was brief.

Dat maakt het inderdaad juridisch gezien extra dubbieus. Maar door af te reden rondom het Watergate schandaal, hield nixon de eer aan zich zelf en neemt dus verantwoording voor wat er is gebeurt (is niet het zelfde als schuldbekennen ind.), en kreeg een Pardon. Dus zowel Reps als Dems kunnen vrede hebben met de situatie.quote:

verschil is natuurlijk dat Trump nooit verantwoording heeft genomen voor wat er is gebeurd, en een zelfpardon, is dan gewoon je zelf vrijpleiten van enige vervolging en dus stellen dat de president boven alle wetten zou staan en gek genoeg loopt die discussie nu ook....
