The white teenager accused of fatally shooting two demonstrators and injuring a third in Wisconsin in August will not be charged with gun crimes in his home state, an Illinois state prosecutor announced.
Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, faces six criminal counts in Wisconsin, including first-degree intentional homicide. He allegedly used an AR-15-style rifle during protests in Kenosha, Wisc., that erupted after the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
Lake County, Ill. State's Attorney Michael Nerheim's office said in a statement that an investigation conducted by local police "revealed the gun used in the Kenosha shooting was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin."
"Additionally, there is no evidence the gun was ever physically possessed by Kyle Rittenhouse in Illinois," the state's attorney's office added.
Police in Antioch, Ill., led the investigation. Antioch is Rittenhouse's hometown, which is located about 15 miles southwest of Kenosha.
The Lake County statement did not provide any details about who may have possessed the gun or where it currently is.
Little is publicly known about the firearm's history, as the Chicago Tribune points out, so it is unclear if the teenager or another person would have faced charges in Illinois if investigators had determined Rittenhouse had possession of the gun inside state lines.
An attorney for Rittenhouse has previously said his client never had possession of the gun outside of Wisconsin.
"Kyle did not carry a gun across state lines," Lin Wood said in a tweet. "The gun belonged to his friend, a Wisconsin resident. The gun never left the State of Wisconsin. Truth always prevails."

A Racine man has been charged with firing a pistol during unrest in Kenosha, a shot Kyle Rittenhouse's defenders think was a factor in the 17-year-old fatally shooting a man two seconds later.
Joshua Ziminski, 35, was charged last week with disorderly conduct-use of a dangerous weapon, a misdemeanor, in the Aug. 25 incident.
That was third night of protesting following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was left paralyzed, and the evening Rittenhouse killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz.
His lawyers say Rittenhouse — who faces homicide charges — acted in self-defense in all three shootings. An 11-minute video his defense produced first highlighted Ziminski's possible role in the events, but didn't identify him by that name.
An hourlong analysis of different videos from that evening by Neil Kiernan, a Michigan-based blogger, posted Sept. 26, properly identified Ziminski and breaks down his presence near the gas station where Rittenhouse first fires his AR-15 rifle, killing Rosenbaum.
Ziminski and his wife are seen with Rosenbaum several times, including as they all confront Rittenhouse right before Rosenbaum starts chasing Rittenhouse into the car lot where their encounter turned fatal.
When Kenosha detectives interviewed Ziminski on Oct. 7, he said he had fired a "warning shot" and that gun he used, and is seen holding in various videos from that evening, has since been stolen.
According to the criminal complaint, videos show Ziminski pointing the gun up near the corner of 63rd St. and Sheridan Road, just a few yards from where Rosenbaum, 36, had chased Rittenhouse into an area of parked cars. As the shot is heard, Rittenhouse turns back toward Rosenbaum.
Witnesses say Rosenbaum then tried to grab the rifle from Rittenhouse, who then fired four times.
In the ensuing panic, videos show most people in the area running, but Ziminski and his wife walking calmly.
Ziminski is free on $1,000 bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for December. If convicted, he could face up to nine months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Despite walking toward police with his arms up after the shootings, Rittenhouse was ignored and returned home to Antioch, Illinois, and surrendered to police there. He remains in an Illinois juvenile jail as he fights extradition to Wisconsin to face the homicide charges.

Voor de overige aanklachten, gezien de feiten, bestaat er een aannemelijke kans op vrijspraak ivm zelfverdediging.
Deze is wel leuk om even te herhalen. Deze vrouw is dus gewoon congress lid...

Geen idee of het nog altijd bezig is. Sinds de verkiezingen lijkt het allemaal wat rustiger te worden, of word er niet meer over gesproken.
Laatste wat ik over BLM/antifa gehoord heb is toen met die Trump rally een weekje geleden volgens mij.
