Als Trump 2020 hopelijk gewoon de verkiezingen zal verliezen en er een democratische president zal komen, zal ook deze weinig tot niks doen de amerikaanse toezeggingen aan NATO en haar europese bondgenoten te versterken...
OOk Rusland zal niet sterker ingeperkt worden en harder op militaire provocaties afgestrafd...
Waarschijnlijk zal juist het tegendeel het geval zijn en zal ooke en komende democratsische president sterk inzetten op militaire bezuinigingen en terugtrekking... zeker ook uit conflictgebieden waar en russische dreiging bestaat.

De vraag is vooral hoe en of een opvolger kan ontstaan, en een machtsvacuum snel genoeg ingevuld kan worden, en een hernieuwde militaire stabiliteit kan ontstaan, of juist verdere destabilisering wegens het gebrek aan een stabiliserende militaire macht.

Zie bvb de cijfers van het census bureau betreffende farm workers. Ze gaven een cijfer van 15%(? was alvast minder dan 20%) undocumented migrant workers (gebaseerd op steekproeven van de database, adressen die een uitgebreidere vragenlijst krijgen).
De USDA daarentegen, die farms bezoeken en de mensen daar ondervragen, gaven in 2014 een cijfer van 47%. Dat suggereert dat heel wat illegalen gewoon niet opduiken in de census cijfers. Ze wonen bvb met 10 personen op adressen waar slechts 3 opgegeven worden, of op "onbekende" adressen (trailers?).
