I will arrive in Amsterdam on Thursday actually and will stay until Monday. I will then spend a few days with my family in Germany and then will indeed attend the London Party.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves but I think that Amsterdam is more likely, as it is the capital of the Netherlands. And Ziggo Dome is a bigger arena than Ahoy. And they could use AFAS live in Amsterdam as press center/extra stage/etc. AFAS live is the venue of EiC, just 500 m from Ziggo dome.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 17:56 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:
So I have a question for everyone. Let's just assume you guys will win in May. Do you think it will be between Rotterdam and Amsterdam as the host city? Which one is more likely, would love to hear your thoughts.

It depends on the venues available. Both Ahoy in Rotterdam and the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam (which is pretty much next to AFAS, where EIC will be) are serious contenders.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 17:56 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

However Ahoy in Rotterdam had many conference Halls and rooms integrated in the building, which is very practical die the press!quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 17:59 schreef Momo... het volgende:

It might be between Rotterdam and Amsterdam for a little while just for the sake of discussion, but I think in the end Amsterdam will be way more likely since it's the capital and they do have the venue.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 17:56 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Of course, I don't want to jinx this for your by asking this question . I'm just genuinely curious as I have been to both cities and love them both for different reasons. it is true that Amsterdam would be the obvious choice but I don't think that's a given, remember Germany picking Duesseldorf?!?
And believe it or not, I start planning early, my 2010 planning is already underway!
Yes, we very much enjoy the current favorite position a lot. Indeed what you say; who knows when that will happen again?quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:04 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

And I don't think it's a bad thing to dream about it. Just like winning the lottery. It's just fun to think about it, even if it doesn't happen so why suppress positive thoughts? Who knows when the Netherlands will be in a similar situation again so enjoy it

Well, planning is still in its infancy. But I am looking at potential arenas as the most important thing for me is the proximity of my accommodation to the arena. I booked my room in Tel Aviv the day the venue was announced and saved a bunch of money.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:05 schreef Greys het volgende:

Does the press have to book their own accommodation then? I somehow always assumed that was taken care of for the press, considering what will happen if some press teams can't get accommodation.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:08 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Matt, what do you think about our chances? Which countries do you expect to finish in the top3 ? Ofcourse we dont know about staging yet, but just so far based on live performances, song and music videos.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:04 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Oh no no no no no no no, we get zilch. Everything is paid out of pocket. Which is why we raise money where we can to afford these adventures but it's all out of pocket.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:09 schreef Aoibhin het volgende:

Tough question, every host city had its pros and cons. I think my favorite ESC was 2016 in Stockholm...so much fun.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:11 schreef Aoibhin het volgende:
Matt, I know you are looking forward to visiting Tel Aviv. What other host cities have you enjoyed the most over the years?
Ok, then I certainly understand why you are planning early. I'm glad you have found accommodation in Tel Aviv though; I've heard that it was very hard to find available and affordable accommodation there.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:14 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Rotterdam and Amsterdam are really close in distance and have great train connections (41 minutes with the intercitytrain and quite affordable), so even if you do end up in the different city from te organising one, it shouldn't really give much problems.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:14 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

You could ask Cornald Maas on April 6 if he has any idea about the hosting city. He is the one that does the tv comments during Eurovision shows and he is in the comittee that chooses the artist anually. Do you know Cornald? Or else I will introduce you to him in Amsterdam at EIC. "Hi Cornald this is Matt and he has to book his hotel so spill the beans". Has to work.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 18:08 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Personally I think it is a no brainer to be Amsterdam and if it is Amsterdam there is really only one venue that can host is, which is the Ziggo Dome.quote:Op woensdag 27 maart 2019 17:56 schreef MattESCunited het volgende:

Je kunt het beste gewoon alsnog iets aan hem posten of vragen, zodat als hij er weer is hij dat ziet of kan beantwoorden. Dan is de kans kleiner dat je hem weer mist.quote:

Well, Hi everyone.
It was brought to my attention that there is a thread dedicated to my work which is such a nice thing to see. Thank you, everyone, for your support on this, I'm beyond flattered and encouraged to continue my work to the best of my abilities.
I'd wish you all good luck but, clearly you don't need it as your country is going to (rightfully) own the contest this year.
If you happen to be in Amsterdam for Eurovision in concert, make sure to say Hi as I will be attending the event and will be there most of the day.
Thanks again, I love these gifs, I keep forgetting how animated I can be at times
