Is it possible for non-OGAE folks to purchase tickets and (be honest), you think it's a fun event to attend? I'm already in Amsterdam so I'm considering going. Let me know if you have the scoop.

Yes, Amsterdam Calling is in De Melkweg (which used to be the EIC venue up until 2017) and it is not strictly for OGAE members; anyone can buy a ticket!quote:

I'm sure it can be quite fun, even though I've never been to that event. Especially if some of the guest artists sound interesting to you, then you might think it's worth it. I am not sure if I am going to that one, because it's another 30 euros for a ticket and I'm not that interested in the guest artists personally (and some of them, like SuRie, will also be at the London preparty). However, it's another great opportunity to enjoy the ESC with other fans. It's really up to you if you think it's worth it.
Edit: I just remember that someone on the forum has been to Amsterdam Calling before, but I forgot who it was. I'm sure that person can help you out!

Looks like anyone, OGAE-member or not, is able to get tickets for Amsterdam Calling, you can get them through the website of the Melkweg venue:

I’ve never attended it before but from what I’ve heard and read on the website it’s more like a celebration of Eurovision with mostly former Dutch entries of yesteryear, EyeCue and the legendary SuRie. And lots of songs played by DJ’s. So it’s more like a party celebrating the past. I’m sure it’s tons of fun with lots of dancing and singing along. I doubt it can top the sheer greatness that is Eurovision in Concert though.

Thanks so much for the information and the links. I doubt that tickets will sell out so I will decide in a couple of days. 30 Euros is quite a lot for this event but then again, how many times do I get to attend a Eurovision party? I really appreciate everyone's input.

Kheb vandaag ook even gedoneerd via hun PayPal. Anders had ik de hele week in Eurovision village bier gekocht, dus kon er wel vanaf.

Elke keer als ik Nederland zie winnen en alle reacties daarop vanuit pers en zaal zie: het doet me elke keer weer wat. De emoties komen dan gewoon weer naar boven.
Het was ooit één van de grootste wensen: meemaken het Songfestival te winnen (ik was 5 toen Teach In won dus dat heb ik niet bewust meegekregen). En dan nu in de fijnste stad van Nederland die ik zo goed ken
