It’s alive, dammit: Netflix has renewed Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt for a fourth season, the streaming service announced on Tuesday.
Kimmy stars Ellie Kemper as the naive survivor of a doomsday cult who moves to New York to start her life after 15 years stuck in an underground bunker. The supporting cast includes Tituss Burgess as Kimmy’s aspiring-actor roommate Titus, Jane Krakowski as her filthy rich former employer Jacqueline, and Carol Kane as her wacky landlord Lillian.
Season 3 of Kimmy debuted on Netflix last month, with all 13 episodes dropping on May 19. The series, co-created by Tina Fey and 30 Rock alum Robert Carlock, was originally developed at NBC, but moved over to Netflix before it made it to air. Since then, it’s racked up a total of eleven Emmy nominations, including two for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The show is also a haven for celebrity guest stars: Season 3 included turns from Jon Hamm, Josh Charles, Ray Liotta, Maya Rudolph, Daveed Diggs and Laura Dern.

Netflix is firing its Girlboss.
The streaming service has cancelled the comedy series, starring Britt Robertson, after one season, our sister site Deadline reports.
The show — which was based on Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso — followed a scrappy, sassy hustler (Robertson) who realizes that she can buy vintage fashion in secondhand stores, then sell them for hundreds more on eBay.
Kay Cannon (30 Rock) wrote the 13-episode series, which was produced by Charlize Theron (Monster) and Amoruso, who announced the cancellation in an Instagram story.
Girlboss‘ axing marks Netflix’s third recent cancellation after The Get Down and Sense8, the latter of which sparked a fan petition to save the show. Ultimately, the campaign failed, with the streaming giant responding to grieving viewers on Facebook.
“We’ve seen the petitions, we’ve read the message… we know you want [us] to #RenewSense8,” read the message. “The reason we’ve taken so long to get back to you is because we’ve thought long and hard here at Netflix to try to make it work, but unfortunately we can’t.”

NBC has cancelled The Carmichael Show after three seasons, TVLine has learned.
Notice of the show’s end spread Friday after Carmichael announced via statement that he would no longer lead the controversial comedy.
“For three seasons (okay 2.5), I got to make a show that I love with my friends. It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was 13,” he said in a statement obtained by our sister site Deadline. “Now, I’m excited to go make other things that I love. Thank you to every person who worked on or watched The Carmichael Show.”
Despite critical acclaim, the fate of The Carmichael Show had very much been in doubt. Earlier this month, Deadline reported that NBC was “nowhere near a renewal decision” on the multi-camera sitcom, with cast options set to expire today.
“We are enormously proud of The Carmichael Show and Jerrod’s talent and vision to do a classic family sitcom that also taps into issues and relevant stories from the real world. We thank and salute the cast, crew, and producers — and especially Jerrod — for three critically-acclaimed seasons,” NBC said via statement.
Word of cancellation comes just six episodes into Carmichael‘s 13-episode summer run, and just two days after NBC aired its delayed mass shooting episode, originally scheduled for June 14. At the time, Jerrod Carmichael said it would be a disservice for the network not to follow through and air the episode as planned, referring to the very idea of preemption as “criminal.” The show once again drew buzz one week later with an episode debating the use of the N-word.
“The Carmichael Show was such a wonderful show that we choose to focus today not on its loss but on the three incredible seasons we had the pleasure to produce,” 20th Century Fox TV presidents Jonnie Davis and Howard Kurtzman said via statement. “We are thankful to the brilliant Jerrod Carmichael and his talented cast, and to showrunner Danielle Sanchez-Witzel, our fantastic writers and devoted production team. It’s a rarity that a comedy series tackles the social and political issues of the day in such a clever and hilariously funny way. This show was special, and we will miss it.”
The Carmichael Show thus far this season is averaging 3.7 million weeekly viewers and a 0.8 demo rating, down 12 percent from its sophomore run.
The Carmichael Show‘s third (and final) season currently airs Wednesdays at 9/8c.

TNT’s Major Crimes will end after its upcoming sixth season, TVLine has learned exclusively.
What will now be the crime drama’s 13-episode farewell run kicks off on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 9/8c, with the milestone Episode 100 landing on Dec. 19. The double-episode series finale will then air Jan. 16, 2018.
“The whole company of Major Crimes is dedicated to making [this] the best season yet,” says series creator James Duff. “We will finish our long run on TNT with a finale worthy of our loyal viewers and their years of unstinting support.”
A spinoff of The Closer, which starred Kyra Sedgwick in the title role and ran for seven seasons, Major Crimes stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, Jonathan Del Arco, Leonard Roberts, Jessica Meraz and Daniel di Tomasso.
As far as who is new for Season 6, Jessica Meraz (Chasing Life) has joined the cast as Det. Camila Paige, while Amirah Vann (Underground) will recur as Special Agent Jazzma Fey. Additionally, Billy Burke is set for his first appearance since the Season 3 finale as the franchise’s slithery Phillip Stroh.
Per TNT, as Commander Raydor grows accustomed to her new boss, Assistant Chief Leo Mason, “the MC detectives find themselves questioning their faith in the rapidly changing priorities of the justice system and their ability to reason through difficult changes.” Season 6 will treat fans to an array of milestones from celebrations of love to periods of loss. “Finally, they must accept the necessity of risk, in all its different guises, as they prepare to face the undeniable return of Phillip Stroh (returning guest star Billy Burke).”
“Major Crimes has successfully navigated the many challenges that arise with a spin-off; the primary mission of which is staying true to its core DNA while expanding into unique territory all its own,” says TNT EVP of original programming Sarah Aubrey. “From Brenda Leigh Johnson to Commander Sharon Raydor, the cast and crew have done a phenomenal job of creating enduring characters — many of whom are celebrating 200 episodes together this season.”

Don’t expect to see any more fog in the forecast: Spike TV has cancelled The Mist after one season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The creepy sci-fi drama — based on a Stephen King novella that also inspired a 2007 film — starred Morgan Spector (Boardwalk Empire), Alyssa Sutherland (Vikings) and Emmy nominee Frances Conroy (Six Feet Under, American Horror Story) as residents of a small town in Maine that becomes engulfed by a thick, mysterious fog. (And even worse, the fog hides a host of deadly monsters that attack the townsfolk.)
Debuting in June, The Mist launched to less than 700,000 same-day viewers, an uninspiring number that sank to about 400,000 by the time its ten-episode freshman season wrapped up last month. And with Spike TV becoming the Paramount Network in January, executives ultimately opted not to bring The Mist along in the transition.
We got a big clue to The Mist‘s eventual fate earlier this month when Spector signed on to join the cast of Showtime’s Homeland as a series regular next season. (Spector will play an old friend of Carrie’s who starts investigating all the people detained by the newly inaugurated President Keane.)

A remake of the British series of the same name, Shameless stars William H. Macy as Frank, the deadbeat patriarch of the dysfunctional — to put it mildly — Gallagher family. The series’ cast also includes Emmy Rossum, Cameron Monaghan and Steve Howey.

The Good Wife offshoot has garnered plenty of attention as of late for its ripped-from-the-headlines storytelling. A significant portion of the series’ current second season has focused on Donald Trump’s presidency, with recent episodes — each numbered to reflect how many days he’s been in office (“Day 464,” “Day 471,” etc.) — centered on his potential impeachment and the alleged “pee tape.”
“The Good Fight is a perfect example of what we strive for a CBS All Access original series to be: thought-provoking, boundary-pushing and, most of all, incredibly entertaining,” Julie McNamara, executive VP of CBS All Access original content, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see what Robert and Michelle King, their creative team and the incomparable cast will bring to audiences in Season 3.”
New episodes of The Good Fight debut Sundays at 3 am ET/midnight PT. The Season 2 finale is set for release on May 27.

Its season finale airs Monday, May 14.
The fate of The Resident’s Monday lead-in, Lucifer, remains TBD.

Ik heb de video gezien waarop dat interview gebaseerd is. Daar zei ze dat ze het per seizoen bekijken. Seizoen 15 komt er sowieso en ze heeft een paar maanden geleden een contract geregeld voor seizoen 15 én 16, dus ik gok DA ze dan na seizoen 16 stoppen. Duurt nog even dus. Eerder zei Rhimes nog dat Grey's Anatomy zou doorgaan totdat Pompeo er genoeg van zou hebben.
