Zat eraan te komen, naar ik meen had hij zelf ook aangekondigd euthanasie te willen als zn ziekte de overhand zou nemen..

Ben eigenlijk wel benieuw wat de woordenwisseling was toen Pratchett en Dood elkaar tegenkwamen, moet vast een sterke zin geweest zijn

Death heeft hem vast meegenomen naar een leuke plek, als uitzondering.
Een briljante geest is heengegaan.

Zijn boeken stonden al heel lang op mijn 'te lezen'-lijstje, maar nog steeds niet aan toe gekomen

Wel erg genoten van de Discworld Point&Click games als klein gehennatje

Ik kom de inhoud van die post op meer plekken tegen, maar is het een fan die dat geschreven heeft, of komt het uit een van zijn boeken?

Heb echt heel veel van hem gelezen. Vooral de boeken met Granny Wheatherwax konden me bekoren.
Maar weer eens wat gaan herlezen. Je mist toch al vaak enkele grappen.

Ik zit nu toch al een paar uur te denken wat ik zijn beste boeken vond.

Ik denk toch nog steeds Reaper Man, gevolgd door Small Gods, maar daarna?

Iedereen ze hier in het Engels gelezen?

Lijkt me leuk om aan te beginnen, maar in Engels kost me veel meer energie:)

Nederlands dringt beter tot je door en volgens mij is de Nederlandse vertaling prima, maar zou ze in het engels lezen, goede oefening

Ja daarom, de eerste boeken zijn een stuk ruwer om te lezen, je kan beter íets later instappen en dan teruggaan. Dat kan, zeker met die eerste boeken, makkelijk.

bovenstaande illuistratie zegt weinig over waar dan wel in te stappen

1e boek ik kom er wel redelijk in en is niet zo dik, 178 bladzijdes (of de ereader maakt er hele lange bladzijdes van)

Guards! Guards! is dat Wacht! Wacht! Dan zit je dus al helemaal onderaan in al die verhaallijnen?

Wacht wacht en dunne hein zijn leuke instappers, maar de eerste paar vond ik ook wel te doen, was daar ook mee begonnen.

Mijn favoriete boek was Night watch.
Is bedoel ik natuurlijk, niet was. Het boek er nog altijd wel.

She stifles the question of relevance and nods.

YET YOUR WORLD HAS LASTED BILLIONS OF YEARS.

Again, she nods.

HE TOOK THIRTY-TWO YEARS TO CREATE HIS WORLD. I SHOULD THINK IT WILL LAST AT LEAST AS LONG AS YOUR RACE.

She blinks and gives one last nod, releasing his arm. As the tall figure and the man in the black hat resume their walk, she calls out,

“Sir, will you tell him how much he is loved?”

The tall figure looks down at the man in the black hat, then back to the old woman.

I DO NOT THINK THE UNIVERSE WILL LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO EXPRESS THAT. BUT I BELIEVE HE UNDERSTANDS YOUR MEANING.

“Thank you, sir.”

She hesitates for a moment, then calls out to their fading forms,

“Stop in any time, sir. Thanks to him, I’m not afraid anymore.”

As they fade completely, a star slowly winks and somewhere, the creator is made welcome.

Nice. Reaper Man is sowieso toch wel mijn favoriet

Amai nee dat meen je niet. Heb nog een boek van hem cadeau gekregen op mijn verjaardag. En diegene die het aan mij gaf overlijdde toen vorige vorig jaar. En nu ineens hij ook. Nee wat afschuwelijk
