Je zou het bijna vergeten, maar de reissues van Yes en Elysium zijn inmiddels uit. Ondanks dat Yes uit 3 cd's bestaat, staat er bar weinig interessants op qua nieuw materiaal. Op de reissue van Elysium staan wél wat leuke tracks. De niet eerder uitgebrachte nummers In Slow Motion en She Pops, bijvoorbeeld. De laatste is erg simpel en catchy; was een uitermate leuke B-kant voor The Pop Kids geweest.

Writing the next PSB album will continue this month when Chris and Neil return from holidays. They have been writing throughout the year and so far have 21 new songs. The new album will be produced by Stuart Price.
Verder nog het bericht dat afgelopen vrijdag de re-issues van de albums Behaviour, Very en Bilingual zijn verschenen. Het zijn dezelfde re-issues als in 2001, maar opnieuw geremasterd. Hiermee zijn nu de eerste twaalf PSB-albums allemaal opnieuw uitgebracht in 2017 of 2018, opnieuw geremasterd en met bonus-tracks.
Toch wel blij om Very en Bilingual eindelijk op vinyl te hebben, hoewel het natuurlijk niet "de originelen" zijn. Maar die zijn, zeker in het geval van Bilingual, niet te betalen

Terwijl de Pet Shop Boys werken aan hun 14e studioalbum (dat later dit jaar verschijnt), verschijnt de "Inner Sanctum"-tour op 12 april op DVD, blu-ray en CD.

Another song will be made available tomorrow, then one on Thursday and finally the fourth on Friday. The complete EP will be available to purchase via digital services this Friday, February 8.
A CD of “Agenda” is also available to pre-order exclusively with Pet Shop Boys’ once-a-year publication “Annually" which has been announced today and will be published on April 12th. A 12-inch vinyl EP of the four tracks will also be commercially released on April 12th.
Discussing the EP, Neil Tennant said: “It contains three satirical songs and one rather sad song. I think it’s because of the times we’re living through.” The four tracks were produced by Tim Powell and Pet Shop Boys and recorded towards the end of last year. They will not be included on Pet Shop Boys’ next album which is being produced by Stuart Price and is due for release in the autumn.

"MUSIK" is a 50-minute, one-woman show with an outrageous book by Jonathan Harvey and six songs by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe including four new ones written for this show. It will star multi-award-winning actress Frances Barber reprising her role as Billie Trix from the 2001 musical, "Closer to Heaven".
"MUSIK" will run from 5 to 24 August at Assembly Rooms (Bijou venue), 54 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LR. Tickets go on sale 10am Thursday 18 April.
Pet Shop Boys said: “When we wrote "Closer to Heaven" almost 20 years ago, we loved the compelling outrageousness of the character Bille Trix as written by Jonathan and performed by Frances Barber. We have all discussed for many years the idea of creating her own one-woman show which would give us the chance to write more songs for her as she looks back on her incredible career. We’re thrilled that this show is finally happening.”

Deze aankondiging is een goed teken en wijst erop dat het nieuwe album aanstaande is. Het lijkt me sterk dat er tegen die tijd - medio september - nog geen nieuw materiaal uit is.
Het nieuwe album komt dus pas in januari. Hopelijk wel een nieuwe single in september, op tijd voor het optreden in Hyde Park.quote:

Er wordt trouwens ook nog gedacht over het uitbrengen van de muziek van de hierboven genoemde cabaret-show "Musik", die binnenkort in première gaat.

"Agenda" is eigenlijk een vreemde eend in de bijt, in het totale oeuvre. Het is de eerste keer dat de Pet Shop Boys een losstaande EP uitbrengen die helemaal niks met een album heeft te maken (de Christmas EP bevatte een nummer van Yes en was een soort samenraapsel van een paar covers en andere tracks uit die tijd).quote:Op dinsdag 2 juli 2019 08:07 schreef PimD het volgende:
