The Friends cast is reuniting on their old network next month for a two-hour special that pays tribute to veteran sitcom director James Burrows, who recently helmed his 1,000th TV episode (15 of which were Friends).

The telecast, which is being likened to last February’s high-rated Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special, will also reunite the casts of other landmark Burrows series, including Taxi, Cheers, Frasier and Will & Grace. The stars of more recent Burrows programs, including The Big Bang Theory and Mike & Molly, will also appear.

I’m told the entire Friends crew — Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry — will be on hand for the reunion-palooza.

Friends Cast Reunion Coming to NBC

It turns out the big Friends reunion planned for NBC's James Burrows special will be one friend short. E! News has confirmed Matthew Perry will not appear alongside famous friends Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.

The reason? He's in London rehearsing for his play, The End of Longing, which begins previews on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Perry may still be part of the special honoring the legendary sitcom director, but we're told it would be by way of a taped message.

NBC's Robert Greenblatt announced the cast of Friends would reunite to honor Burrows for a taped special set to air at the end of February. Burrows, who recently directed his 1,000th episode of TV, directed 15 Friends episodes. "Hoping that all six of them will be in the same room at the same time, but I'm not sure we can logistically pull that off," Greenblatt told reporters at the 2016 TCA Winter Press Tour.

Ushered in by Matthew Perry via video, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer re-assembled Sunday — on a slightly different couch than we’re used to seeing them — to honor the legendary Burrows, who recently directed his 1,000th episode of television.

“We would do anything for Jim Burrows,” Aniston began. “He gave us the opportunity of a lifetime, and probably the best 10 years of our acting careers that we will forever remember. We experienced friendship, heartbreaks, babies, everything together. And we had a wonderful experience with the world loving us, as well. They really connected with us.”

Speaking to the cast’s early chemistry, Aniston continued, “From the beginning, we just wanted to hang out with each other. … We really just fell in love and adored each other instantly.”

In addition to soliciting the stars’ praises for the man of the hour, host Andy Cohen also prodded them for behind-the-scenes secrets. Here are a few things we learned:

* According to Kudrow, Burrows gave his poker table to the cast as a bonding exercise; this inspired the infamous poker episode “The One With All the Poker,” which Burrows also directed.

* During the first season, the cast would get together to watch each episode together — keep in mind, this was decades before live-tweeting became a thing — and would give each other notes, or as they now consider them, “suggestions.”

* The Friends skirted Cohen’s promo-worthy question about whether they had to promise — in writing — not to sleep with one another. “I was not asked to sign anything,” Kudrow said with a laugh.

* “The three girls, we had lunch together every day for 10 years,” Cox said, calling their meal of choice “a Jennifer Salad.” Aniston tried to shrug off any notion that she makes salad better than others, but Cox insisted, “She has a way with it.”

* LeBlanc’s favorite Joey moment is from “The One With George Stephanopoulos,” specifically the beat where Joey pretends a puck is coming at his face, much to the annoyance of Ross, who just had a puck hit him in the face. LeBlanc gives all the credit to Burrows for coming up with the bit on the spot.

* One of Cox’s favorite episodes is “The One With the Blackout,” because she loved the image of Ross running around the balcony with a cat on his back. Schwimmer recalls Burrow encouraging him to “just keep doing it.”

* Aniston has a special love for the flashbacks to “Fat Monica, Rachel pre-nosejob and Ross with his afro.”

* Burrows often related characters from his shows to one another; he told Kudrow that Phoebe was his new Reverend Jim (Christopher Lloyd’s character on Taxi), and as LeBlanc recalls, Burrows told him, “You’re Danza.”

‘Friends’ Reunion Special In the Works At HBO Max
After years of mini reunions on TV and a recent selfie that almost broke Instagram, the Friends cast may finally get together for a proper television reunion.

Talks are underway for an unscripted Friends reunion special on the upcoming streaming platform HBO Max, sources said.

Aniston, who orchestrated the recent reunion of the cast for a photo that launched her Instagram account (and temporarily crashed the platform), recently alluded to the project while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

While she confirmed what Friends creators had been said all along, that there will not be a Friends reboot, she let slip that some sort of reunion is in the works.

Leibman startte zijn acteerloopbaan in 1956 in de soap The Edge of Night. Zijn filmdebuut was in de komedie Where's Poppa. Daarnaast speelde hij ook in The Super Cops en was er voor hem een rol weggelegd in Norma Rae. Die film werd bekroond met een Oscar.

Ze zijn natuurlijk allemaal wel 50+ hé... Aniston is de jongste met 52. Natuurlijk zal er wel wat aan ze geknutseld zijn want Hollywood, geld en zeker direct na Friends waren ze ontzettend bankable, maar vooral de mannen vind ik voor hun leeftijd gewoon als mannen van hun leeftijd uitzien
Maar er is duidelijk wel iemand met een computer bezig geweest na deze opnames. Vooral Kudrow ziet er hier veel jonger uit dan de paar keer dat ik haar in andere series/films gezien heb (en van Cox was het destijds onmiddellijk duidelijk dat ze onder het mes was geweest...).

Matt LeBlanc heb ik nog vrij recent gezien als presentator van Top Gear. Hij is inderdaad best wel rond geworden, maar op de één of andere manier is hij nog suave genoeg dat het ook niet zo lijkt op te vallen.
