As Rachel mentioned in her post, we just heard yesterday that our three newest TV docs are airing starting 22 March, which is a little earlier than we were expecting.
I think the change of plans has something to do with Jeremy Clarkson's "fracas" with his producer, not that it really matters.
The first two shows are a two-parter about a month I spent meeting forensic patients at several large mental hospitals.
My Series Producer Jamie Pickup got us inside the Ohio Department of Mental Health and the stories of the people we met there were some of the most moving and fascinating that I've ever had the privilege of documenting.
The third show is unrelated to the first two - it's an exploration of the growing phenomenon of transgender kids in America. It's directed by a talented young director called Tom Barrow. We shot it in and around San Francisco, basing ourselves at a clinic that is pioneering an approach of early intervention for children who believe themselves to be born with the wrong anatomy.
All three docs are great - I know, I *would* say that, wouldn't I?

They have been found not guilty by reason of insanity and ordered by the courts to secure psychiatric facilities to receive the treatment that it is hoped will, one day, lead to their reintegration back into society.
In this first of two parts, Louis spends time with patients attempting to come to terms with their crimes and the clinicians entrusted with helping to make them safe. And he investigates the difficult question - when is a patient with a serious crime in their past ready to be returned to the outside world?

In October this year, 45-year-old Louis premiered a feature length documentary entitled My Scientology Movie, and last month he revealed he was planning a second show dedicated to Jimmy Savile, following his original When Louis Met Jimmy 15 years ago.
The footage shot in Liverpool is believed to be on the subject of mental health

Louis spends time with staff and service users at the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, one of the UK's largest providers of neuro-behavioural rehabilitation, in an effort to understand how individuals and their families come to terms with this life-changing condition.
Often called a 'hidden disability' because those affected can show little physical signs of change, individuals with acquired brain injury face enormous cognitive, behavioural and personality challenges. Those affected are left to reconstruct who they are - from relearning the basics of walking, talking and eating to redeveloping complex personality and behavioural traits, often in the shadow of who they once were. Family members are often caught between grieving for the loved one they have lost and learning to love the person they are now.
