Jerusalemite Arnold Roth, who lost his daughter, Malki, in the 2001 Jerusalem Sbarro Restaurant bombing , has begun a personal move in an attempt to petition the Ministry of Justice to exclude female terrorist Ahlam Tamimi from the list of security prisoners to be exchanged.

“We urgently call on Israel's Ministry of Justice to remove Ahlam Tamimi from the list of prisoners to be released in exchange for the return of Gilad Shalit.
Tamimi was sentenced to 16 consecutive life terms in jail for her involvement in the terrorist attack on the Sbarro pizza restaurant in Jerusalem in August 2001 that claimed the lives of 16 innocent victims, among them many Jewish children.
Tamimi has never expressed remorse and told reporters in 2006, "I'm not sorry for what I did. I will get out of prison and I refuse to recognize Israel's existence. Discussions will only take place after Israel recognizes that this is Islamic land."
If released, Tamimi will have her life to live, despite having been sentenced in a court of law after a full and proper trial to sixteen consecutive life sentences. The thought that she will become a wife and mother, be honored by her community and others, and become an inspiration to young formative minds in the Arab world is horrifying and unacceptable.
It is unfathomable that such a proud and unrepentant terrorist be granted freedom under any circumstances.”
Ahlam Tamimi, number 473 op de lijst, word dinsdag gedeporteerd naar jordanie , waar ze ook geboren is.

Brother of Ramallah lynch victim: Barak lied to me
Brother of Vadim Norzich slams prisoner exchange that will include the release of Abed Alaziz Salaha who was documented in the horrific photo with his hands covered in blood
Aviel Magnezi
Published: 10.16.11, 14:51 / Israel News

"The government lied to all the bereaved families. They promised the bereaved parents that the terrorists would never get out. Ehud Barak made a personal promise to me that this terrorist would never see the light of day. I knew that day that he had lied to me. I told everyone that it was only a matter of time before the next deal. I saw the Goldwasser and Regev deal and I knew that it was only a matter of time before the murderers of my brother (are released)."

The painful monologue above belongs to Michael Norzich, brother of Vadim, who was murdered by a mob in Ramallah in the year 2000. Michael said that no one called to tell him that one of the murderers of his brother is included in the list of 477 prisoners who will be released as part of the first phase of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal.

Abed Alaziz Salaha, who was photographed in the horrific photo with his hands covered with blood in what has become the symbol of the second intifada, was sentenced to life in prison but is expected to be released on Tuesday.

"The pain is stronger today," Michael told Ynet. "Not because of the deal itself but because of the way it is carried out. It is not a deal but a major loss. It is a twisted deal. You don't release at any cost. There is a price. You cannot give it all."

On the one hand, the bereaved brother says, the family is happy for the parents and siblings who will see their son Gilad Shalit come home. "On the other hand, our family is angry that nobody cared about our sensitivity. No one (in the government) experienced our pain," he said.

Michael does not feel any pity for the families of the Palestinian prisoners. "They are all the devil's children. I don’t feel sorry for them and not for the tears of their mothers. A mother that sends her child to blow up?!"

The Ramallah lynch took place on October 12, 2000, when a mob of Palestinians murdered two IDF soldiers, Vadim Norzich and Yossi Avrahami, and mutilated their bodies.

The lynch occurred at the start of the al-Aqsa Intifada and despite attempts by the Palestinian Authority to erase any documentation of the brutal murder, the horrific images reached every corner of the world and sent shockwaves in Israel.

Salaha, 30, from the village of Dir Jarid near Ramallah, was arrested in 2001 and admitted that he was part of the mob that stormed the police station, and that he strangled one of the soldiers while the others beat him.

When he saw that his hands were covered with the soldiers' blood, he went to the window to proudly show his hands to the mob below.

Families of terror victims motion court to thwart release of terrorists responsible for their loved ones' deaths
Aviad Glickman
Published: 10.16.11, 14:14 / Israel News

While the Israel Prison Service transported busloads of Palestinian inmates to the Ketziot and Hasharon prisons ahead of their release, families who lost loved ones in terror attacks continued to petition the nation's courts, seeking to derail the deal that is about to set terrorists free.

The prisoner swap agreement, which Israel signed with Hamas, calls for the release of 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

Surviving members of the Schijveschuurder family, who lost five relatives in a 2001 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem Sbarro branch, have filed a petition with the High Court of Justice to prevent the release of Ahlam Tamimi, an accomplice who drove the terrorist to the scene of the attack.

"Asked whether she regrets the act, Ahlam Tamimi told an Israeli reporter that she was saddened that she could not kill more than 15 Jews," the petition said.

Moreover, the family demanded the State "set clear criteria for the release of security inmates included in the capitulation deal."

"Tamimi, a cold-blooded killer, continues to tell anyone who would listen that she will return to terrorism, and that her release puts Jews in danger both in Israel and abroad," the family added. "The decision to free her is extremely unreasonable. The government does not have the legitimacy to release murder convicts who are sentenced to life terms."

Shvuel Schijveschuurder, whose parents and siblings were killed in the bombing, was arrested on Thursday for vandalizing a memorial for Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in an act of reprisal against the impending prisoner swap.

'Deal brings Israel to its knees'
Also on Sunday, Ronit Tamari, a Jerusalem resident, petitioned the High Court to remove the 29 prisoners from the list of convicts who are to be freed in the deal. Among the 29 are Abed Amro, a member of the terrorist cell that was behind a bombing of Jerusalem's Café Hillel in 2003, and Jihad Yaghmur, who is responsible for Nachshon Wachsman's abduction and murder.

Tamari, a self-described "concerned citizen," slammed the government for reckless behavior.

"The release of 1,027 terrorists, most of whom are the most abominable killers the justice system has ever seen, is disproportionate," she wrote. "This deal brings Israel to its knees before an extremist terror organization. It means a defeat for Israel in its war on terror."

Tamari demanded the government explain why it decided to release Palestinian terrorists "with much blood on their hands," and how it intends to protect its citizens from acts of terror perpetrated by the convicted murderers.

Ynet has learned that the High Court of Justice has scheduled a hearing for Monday to discuss the Almagor Terror Victims Association's petition to annul the Shalit deal. The organization has also asked the court to extend the period of time that the Justice Ministry has given the public to voice their objections to the deal.

The petition is to be examined by a panel of three judges.

Families sue terrorists
Meanwhile, families of victims of a Haifa bus bombing filed a suit with the Haifa District Court against three men involved in the terror attack, who are set to be released as part of the Shalit deal. The Kerman and Tzur families are motioning for a hold-departure order as well as NIS 2.25 (roughly $610,000) million in compensation.

Tal Kerman, 18 and Asaf Tzur, 17 were killed in a suicide bombing on the 37 bus line in Haifa in 2003. A total of 17 people were killed in the attack and dozens were wounded. The three men behind the attack were sentenced to 17 consecutive life sentences.

Ron Kerman and Yossi Tzur, the fathers of the two victims, filed a damages claim against the planners of the attack as well as a motion for a hold-departure order. The damages claim stated that the deaths left the families with deep mental scars to the point of disability.

The bereaved families stressed that after the terrorists are released they will no longer be able to sue them or even trace them. "They are up for release solely because their friends abducted Shalit who served as a bargaining chip," the claim stated.

Yossi Tzur said Sunday that the families have yet to seek legal action against the three as they did not believe they would be released so soon, and seeing as most such lawsuits fail to achieve anything.http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4135479,00.html

Ron Arad negotiator comes out against Shalit deal
Exactly 25 years since IAF navigator fell captive, senior official says: 'When I look at the future, which could bring about major problems, I think the (Shalit) deal should have been rejected even if his fate would be similar to that of Ron Arad'

Published: 10.16.11, 15:22 / Israel News

"Not a day goes by in which I don't think about Ron Arad, especially during these days. I think to myself what have I not done that could have been done to bring him home. But when I look at the future, which could bring about major problems, I think the (Shalit) deal should have been rejected even if his fate would be similar to that of Ron Arad."

The above conclusion was made by a senior defense official who was involved in the state's missing and captive soldiers issue for an extended period of time and had a central role in the contacts to secure the release of captive IAF navigator Ron Arad.

Watch video showing Gilad turning into Ron Arad

Exactly 25 years since Arad was captured in Lebanon and days before the implementation of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal, the senior official tells Ynet about the heavy price the state has to pay for the return of Gilad Shalit.

For extensive coverage of the Shalit deal, click here

"We could have paid the price back then and maybe Ron Arad would have come home," he says. "When Yitzhak Rabin believed that Amal's price should have been questioned, I thought we should have accepted the offer and pay the price."

However, in the years that passed, the senior official changed his mind. "Today I have much experience from other deals I have been involved in, and perhaps Rabin was right because reality led to kidnappings and more extortion. One thing's for sure – we should have changed the rules back then – to determine an unequivocal, uncompromising position and then perhaps we would not be where we are today."

Latest stories on the Shailt deal:

Op-ed: Let’s free all prisoners

The official said that the attempt to improve our positioning resulted in Arad's disappearance. "I have witnessed the effect the Jibril prisoner exchange deal had on Rabin – if it weren’t for Jibril, Ron would be here, but Rabin refused to accept those terms. The terms, by the way, were far less dramatic than the current framework of the Shalit deal. I'd like to believe that with the terms offered back then, Ron Arad could have been released."

According to the official, "When I dealt with the Arad case, he was in the hands of Nabih Berri, head of the Amal movement. The group's security officer Mustafa Dirani deserted and took Ron Arad with him and moved from Beirut to the Beqaa Valley. From there the Iranians took him and that was the end of it. I don't know if he died a natural death or has been killed."

The official is certain that the Ron Arad case was on the prime minister's mind when he decided to accept the Shalit deal. "I have no doubt that Arad was in the prime minister's thoughts and on his conscience. Ron Arad is a national trauma and I understand its significance. Considering the demands that have been there from the onset, the prime minister did not get a bad deal. But still, it is an opening to major problems in the future."

Ron Arad activists urge his return (Photo: Haim Tzach)

The official referred to the differences between the present deal to the one that was offered to Rabin and Shamir to release Arad – an offer they ended up rejecting. "In both cases, I believe the Iranians were involved. I had estimated that as long as Khaled Mashaal represents Hamas and he is backed by the Iranians while operating out of Syria, there would not be a deal because the Iranians are not interested in a solution but only want to agonize us. Once Mashaal does not rule at the top, the Syrians are in trouble and the Iranians are losing their influence, the path was paved for a deal."

Despite the guilty conscience over the fact that Ron Arad disappeared while in captivity, the official says he objects to the current deal. "Everyone says that this is the price we have to pay, but with all due respect, I am not willing to pay for one what may result in another attack. The prospects of that happening are high. I am sorry to say this but we must think about the future, think about tomorrow. The Shin Bet chief says he could handle it? He's the one that will have to deal with reality."

The official recently appeared before the Shamgar Committee that was established to examine the subject of prisoner exchanges. "I told them that we needed to open a new page, to change the rules of the game. The Shalit deal has been signed, I am happy it's over and that Gilad is coming home because it was a trauma for all of us, but we cannot live like this. We must know that from now on, whenever we face such a dilemma, we will know that there is a clear framework that does not leave room for further extortion."

On Tuesday, Noam Shalit chose to begin his statement after the cabinet approved the deal that would bring his son back with a mention of Ron Arad. "Today, the Arad family marked 25 years since Ron Arad was captured and our happiness is mixed with the Arad family's sadness for not seeing Ron come home."
