According to this official, the FIA’s reasoning for this was that StefanGP “will not be racing in Bahrain.”

Hoe meer auto's op de grid hoe beter.
Aan de andere kant, geruchten zijn dat de FIA een bedrag van 7 cijfers eist van USF1 om zo hun intentie aan te tonen om er volgend jaar wel bij te zijn. Dus het zou zomaar kunnen dat ze dat uitstel krijgen denk ik

In short it’s impossible to know, especially given the far greater fuel load variance than in past years. However, my looking at lap times across the longer runs it’s possible to work out who has a nose in front.

More so than previous years outright pace isn’t necessarily the critical performance element. Consistency is important and so is tyre wear. A car that works well on low and high fuel and is easy on its tyres is a better bet than one that can has extraordinary single lap pace.

In terms of consistency Ferrari seems out in front. The Scuderia has had more running that other teams and over long runs the lap times are impressive. McLaren isn’t too far behind the the MP4-25 seems slightly harder on its tyres than the F10. A long run comparison at Valencia showed the two cars equally matched for the first 30 laps or so but then for the last 8 or so laps of the run the Ferrari continue to improve its lap times while the McLaren fell away badly (on the same tyres).

Red Bull seems to be up there too although Mercedes is a few tenths off the pace. Ross Brawn put this down to weight distribution issues. The 2010 car requires weight distribution 1-2% back compared to the 2009 design and the Brawn engineers may have got the initial calculations wrong – although not disastrously so.

Het nieuwe Amerikaanse team is niet in staat om over twee weken aan de start te verschijnen in Bahrein en zou er nu de voorkeur aan geven om pas in 2011 in de Formule 1 te debuteren.
De renstal zou bereid zijn om een groot bedrag naar de internationale autosportbond over te maken om duidelijk te maken dat zij nog steeds serieus van plan is om in de Formule 1 te stappen. Het verzoek van US F1 om het seizoen 2010 over te mogen slaan, komt nadat gesprekken met Stefan Grand Prix, dat dit jaar ook graag aan de Formule 1 mee wil doen, over een fusie op niets uit waren gelopen. Stefan Grand Prix hoopt in Bahrein als zelfstandig team in de F1 te kunnen debuteren. In een verklaring laat het Servische team weten: "We willen dit jaar graag meedoen aan de Formule 1. We zijn er klaar voor. We begrijpen dat dit alleen kan als de FIA en FOM ons toelaten, maar we hebben er alle vertrouwen in dat zij de juiste beslissing nemen."

Team US F1 had de Argentijn Jose Maria Lopez al als racerijder gestrikt.

Further evidence of the apparent mismanagement at US F1 has come with the confirmation that the team had not one but two fully sponsored drivers signed up well before the start of the season – and yet still couldn’t manage to build a car in time.

The team announced on January 25 that it had signed Jose Maria Lopez, but it never officially confirmed that in December it had also agreed a deal with former Honda test driver James Rossiter.

While there were rumours that Rossiter was in the frame – thanks to Lopez’s management telling the Argentinian media – sources confirm that the deal was in fact signed and sealed. Both drivers were committed to bringing $8m, a large chunk of which – as is standard practice – was to be paid before the first race.

However in early February Rossiter’s backers sought reassurances that everything was going to plan in Charlotte, and that sufficient additional funding was in place.

When US F1 was not able to provide those guarantees, Rossiter withdrew from the deal.

Days later US F1 had a showdown with Lopez’s management, and confirmed to the driver that the team would not make Bahrain. At that point Lopez also pulled out and went to Europe in a desperate effort to look for an alternative seat. Lopez’s management has since complained that the team must have known the situation when the deal was signed.

Certainly the fact that US F1 failed to build a car on time – despite having contracts with two drivers with F1 testing experience with a combined value of $16m – would suggest that something about the project was deeply flawed.

Rossiter has since signed up with the KVRT IndyCar team.

Als een onderdeel veel punten heeft gehaald, gaat het in waarde omhoog en wordt het lastiger dit onderdeel aan te kopen. Maar blijft een onderdeel onder het aantal van 60 punten in één raceweekend, dan wordt het goedkoper. Wel zit er een maximum en minimum aan de waarde.

Nog een paar opmerkingen vooraf:

Het zal je vast opvallen, maar in je teammanagementpagina staat een veld waar de banden nog genoemd worden. Die doen uiteraard niet mee en hoef je niet te vullen. Er komt zo snel mogelijk een goed veld voor in de plaats.

Verder ben je wellicht gewend vanuit de FOK! Voetbalmanager dat er plaatjes getoond worden als je een onderdeel selecteert, maar hier (nog) niet. Dat zal ook zo snel mogelijk ingevuld worden, dus wees niet verbaasd als er ineens een plaatje verschijnt bij een onderdeel dat er eerst nog geen had. Het zal een voor een in de code worden ingevuld.

Omdat het ontbreken van plaatjes geen belemmering vormt voor het gebruik van de FOK! Formule 1-manager wilden we niet langer wachten met de lancering!

Probably the manufacturer least likely to be associated with Formula One, Russian car maker Lada, has announced it will be sponsoring the Renault F1 team for 2010.

The announcement, made by Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin, is linked to the signing of Vitaly Petrov as the country's first F1 driver. Putin said Renault's signing of Petrov, is a "great symbol of cooperation" between the French marque and Russia.

"We will sponsor this activity [the F1 team] as a first step, and do not rule out later increasing our financial participation in the project," the prime minister told news agency EFE.

In 2008 Renault bought a 25% stake in Lada's parent company Avtovaz for US$1 billion, and it is reported that Renault's chief executive Carlos Ghosn may now look to increase the marque's involvement.

Although the car will carry Lada branding for 2010, there are no plans to change the team name.
