Ondertussen...MADELEINE: THE 26-PART TV SERIESquote:I have this article which quotes Silvia Batista (The Technical Services Director of the Ocean Club resort) as offering, personally, child-minding services to the McCanns. They were rejected.
http://www.infobae.com/co(...)los-padres-Madeleine
"The search for a new personality in the desperate search of the small British four-year-old is complicating even more the McCanns' situation.
The Technical Services Director of the Ocean Club resort, Silvia Batista, affirmed that the same night on which Madeleine disappeared, she in person offered child-minding services "because the hotel is responsible for its clients' children, but they rejected that". Madeleine was seen for the last time on the 3rd of May when she was sleeping next to her siblings in a rented room in a hotel in Praia da Luz, in the south of Portugal. The parents of the little girl are being questioned for having left her alone in that room in order to go to eat with some friends.
According to the director of the hotel, "every month registries of robberies in the area are kept, and we therefore advise the service of a child-minder", but even knowing this, Maddie's parents did not accept it. Batista confirmed in an interview with the website Globo.com that the hotel has been working from the start with the Police to find the little girl. The director added that the room used by the McCann family was closed the first two months, then was opened for 15 days, but was then closed once again. Also, the director of the resort pointed out that in the area there are "many inquisitive people, but they do not disrupt the routine of the place.
"We did not bear the blame for the disappearance of the little girl, it couldn't be said whose fault it was, but certainly not ours", assured the director and indicated that "the parents of the girl that night were very unconcerned", and there was no reason they should not have requested the service of a child-minder.
Dat hebben ze eigenlijk een beetje zelf over zich heen afgeroepen.quote:TV chiefs in Portugal are planning to make a 26-episode series about Madeleine McCann. It has been written by policeman turned criminologist Francisco Moita Flores, who blames Kate and Gerry McCann for their daughter’s disappearance.
Last night a friend of the McCanns said: “This is absolutely disgusting. “Not only are the people behind this cashing in on a poor little girl’s disappearance, but it also looks like they are planning to point the finger at her heartbroken parents. “Any TV channel who buys it will be paying blood money for it. “People should remember Madeleine is a real little girl and not some character from a soap opera. Her parents have real feelings.
“They will support anything that helps find her – but not downmarket shows aimed at titillating entertainment.”The series, based on the official investigation, will start filming in Portugal shortly. Producers are hoping it will be shown across Europe – raising the prospect of it being broadcast in Britain. Flores has been an outspoken critic of the McCanns and their seven holiday companions since Madeleine vanished from the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz last May, shortly before her fourth birthday.
He claimed on his Portuguese true-crime TV show that the couple or one of their friends sneaked away from a tapas bar to dispose of the child’s body after she was killed in her holiday apartment. >>> Daily Express

The wanna-be actress/model 'nanny' Charlotte

-------------------------------------------------------quote:This morning’s British press has wasted no time in connecting the tragic disappearance of 5 year old Mari Luz Cortes apparently at the hands of a so-called Gypsy, with the equally tragic disappearance of Madeleine McCann. On the surface there maybe some justification for the link, as back in June 2007 there was a possible Madeleine sighting linked to "Gypsies".
But after doing the most cursory of Google searches I am surprised that the Mainstream Media has failed to draw attention to some of the bizarre coincidences surrounding this earlier sighting.
The June sighting with the so-called gipsy followed several days in which the MSM devoted its headlines to a devastating letter to a Dutch newspaper stating where Madeline was “buried,” which thankfully turned out to be a hoax. Following that hoax the McCanns were blessed almost immediately with this apparent live sighting of Madeleine which not only doubtless gave them hope but also probably helped get their overall “long-term campaign” back on track.
Here’s how the Sun reported its scoop on June 20 2007,“POLICE last night had a new lead in the search for missing Madeleine McCann, that gypsies may have snatched her. A holidaymaker revealed he spotted a fair-skinned little blonde girl in the back of a horse-drawn cart three weeks ago. Retired pilot Andre van Wyk, 66, told how a woman in the cart quickly covered the sleeping youngster’s face with a shawl. He was so suspicious he trailed the cart to a gipsy camp ten miles from where Maddie, four, vanished 48 days ago in Portugal’s Algarve. Last night Van Wyk told The Sun: “I followed it to what looked like a gipsy camp next to the old bridge at Portimao. “I saw an impeccably dressed blonde woman collect the blonde child from the older dark-skinned woman who had been carrying her. I assumed the blonde woman was the mother and that they were in some way innocently connected to the gipsy group.“But it’s been playing on my mind ever since. The little girl looked so out of place.”.
So who exactly is this Mr. Van Wyk? Presumably just an everyday member of the public with no connection to Team McCann or its financial backers. But maybe not. Of course, there may well be hundreds of 66 year old pilots called Andre van Wyk, but here’s a remarkable set of coincidences dished up by Google.
On August 7 2006, the Fife Herald reported the following:
“A TOP hot air balloon pilot who has flown all over the world and whisked many stars of stage and screen into the sky is now flying people from Fife. Andre van Wyk, of Virgin Balloon Flights, has been a balloon pilot for more than 30 years and has soared over 39 different countries, everywhere from Italy to Mexico.
Now the 64-year-old is flying passengers from VBF's launch site at Falkland Palace regularly throughout the summer…Although to Andre everyone he flies is a VIP, there are some he can't even believe he shared a basket with. They include actor Roger Moore alias James Bond and Julie Andrews of the Sound of Music fame, who he flew over the Swiss Alps, and famous golfer and fellow South African Gary Player. He also once took up German industrialist and well-known playboy Gunter Sachs who tipped his crew 40,000 Swiss Francs, nearly £20,000!
Andre said: "I flew Dolly Parton in Sun City in South Africa in the mid 1980s.
"She was great and, when we landed and unpacked everything for a champagne breakfast, she insisted on doing it all for us.”
So let’s think this through:
1 Andre van Wyk was until recently a balloon pilot with Virgin Balloon Flights.
2 Virgin Balloon Flights is owned by world-famous balloonist and billionaire Richard Branson.
3 On May 12 2007 , just six weeks before the sighting of Madeleine with the gypsy, Richard Branson had come forward to offer a 100000 pounds to the Maddie reward fund.
4 On Sept 16 Branson’s chipped in another 100000 pounds to help the new arguedos launch a parent’s defense fund after they were named arguedoes.
5 Of course, just because a Van Wyk worked for marathon balloonist Richard Branson does not automatically mean Branson knew his former employee or had any contact with him directly or otherwise in the period from May 3 2007 to June 21 2007. But surely someone with investigative resources at their disposal should at least be asking the questions.
And before the ink dries on the McCann "gypsy" story and its apparent connection to the latest tragedy in Spain it may be worth revisiting the report of Mr. Van Wyk’s "gypsy" sighting. And here-in lies the most astonishing coincidence. According to the Sun, Van Wyk had in fact not one, but two "gypsy" encounters within a few days.
In the same June 20 2007 article the Sun reports “Van Wyk, a South African, also described a bizarre encounter with a gipsy woman at Faro Airport as he checked in for a flight out of Portugal. She peered over his shoulder as he read a Sun article about Maddie and said in broken English: “They no find girl with picture.”She walked off after pointing at the photo of Madeleine and saying: “Hair cut short, hair black.”Van Wyk said: “It was very odd. I had no idea if she was trying to tell me something she knew or whether she was just giving me her opinion.”
How weird is that? Not one sighting but two of someone from exactly the same ethnic group. And how did The Sun get hold of its scoop relating to this bizarre brace of Gypsy connections…again in the same report the paper notes “His witness statement which he (Van Wyk) first sent to The Sun was immediately relayed by us to the McCann family via their Foreign Office adviser Clarence Mitchell.”
Yes, it’s that man Clarence again...but this time he’s not the one offering scoop, he’s the recipient of the information. And within 48 hours back in June, he presumably recycled the story of Maddie and the “gypsies” through the mainstream media. Just as suddenly as the story arrived it quickly disappeared...
…Until less than 10 days after the media reported that new tests proved conclusively that the blood in the McCann’s hire car was 100% matched to Madeleine, an abduction 120 miles away from the scene of Madeleine’s disappearance launched another round of media Gypsy-bashing.
Apparently when it comes to Britain’s First Family, the McCanns, and “Our Maddie,” political correctness towards the "Gypsies" goes out of the window, along with any pretence of investigative journalism by the Mainstream Media.
Her mother said the description matched the clothes her daughter was wearing when she vanished, and said she believed it could be Mari. There have been several sightings of Madeleine with an older woman in northern Morocco, and detectives from the Spanish detective agency Metodo 3 believe the Berber woman is a "carer", keeping the four-year-old alive in the Rif Mountains on the orders of a paedophile gang."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------quote:The rogatory letters were redone repeatedly by the Judiciary Police, always in close liaison with the British authorities, but for more than a week that is expected green light from England for the interrogation of the McCann's friends.
The Judiciary also asked for the seizure of objects of Maddie's parents, including Kate's journal- but there is no answer.
Researchers are surprised with the attitude. Especially because the PJ and the public prosecutor have followed all legal channels to send the letters through the Attorney General's Office,.
All the interrogations to the eight friends of the couple are necessarily conducted by the local police, since they are held in British soil, despite the presence of Portuguese researchers. Those letters took months to prepare due to the complex translation of some terms and they were done carefully to avoid what after all is happening - the delay imposed by the British.
Regarding the seizure of Kate's diary, the Judiciary also waits for the British authorization, but this delay does not damage the investigation or the belief of the inspectors - in the process there are copies of what the author wrote, for example on the personality of her daughter Maddie. In this case, the original is needed only to help to back up the possible indictment of the public prosecutor - since copies cannot be used in court.
Initially, the PJ only wants to interrogate the friends of the couple. And then based on the answers they will get from all of them and any contradictions they may fall, they will advance to request the interrogation of the McCanns - though, again, they only can do that through rogatory letters and through the same process of liaison with the local police.
PJ DENIES CONNECTION TO MARI LUZ
She has five years old, only one more than Madeleine McCann , and, like the English girl, she has two brothers. In addition to these two facts, Mari Luz Cortez disappeared without trace, last Sunday,in the neighborhood of Torrejón, in Huelva. As Maddie,in Praia da Luz, May 3.
The PJ, however, denies any link between the two cases. "The Spanish authorities sent us - the description of the child and we are aware in case any clue appears in Portugal," said to the CM source of the Judiciary. "But so far, there is no connection between the two disappearances or exists the suspicion that the same person or persons might be at the origin of both situations," he assured.
Who wanted to clarify possible links were the detectives of the Spanish agency Metodo 3, hired by Kate and Gerry to investigate the disappearance of Madeleine. According to a source close to the McCanns, "they have already entered in contact with the parents of Mari Luz to investigate possible links." But not even Maddie's parents believe that whoever is behind the case of Huelva can have any relationship with the Praia da Luz.
Yesterday, at a press conference, Juan Jose Cortez, Mari Luz's father, said that the Spanish authorities "are working on a clue." But he did not reveal which, and he just said that he has "a suspicion" but "is not the same suspicion that the police has." Juan Cortez admitted that "at present there is no" concrete result.
The family has received numerous telephone calls from various points of Spain, Portugal and France. Countries "where many people are searching for Mari Luz," revealed the father of the Spanish girl. He thanked the commitment of all and asked that today, in solidarity, "at 12.00 hrs, all people across Spain come to the streets."
Mari Luz Cortez Suárez, of five years, disappeared on Sunday, at 16:30, after leaving home to go to a kiosk, 100 meters away,to buy a pack of crisps. After that she was seen in the street at the rear of the house, where she lives with her parents by two neighbours. She is around 1 meter high, when she disappeared she was wearing a pink jacket with stars, a skirt and white boots.
THE PROCESS WILL BE IN SECRECY FOR MORE NINE MORE MONTHS
The process of the disappearance of Maddie will never be public before 15th September this year, one year after the entry into force of the new Code of Criminal Procedure, discovered the CM. The decision was taken by order of the Judge Pedro Frias, on the 18th of September of 2007, considering that the maintenance of the secrecy of justice , for one year, was imposed by the rules that emerged from the changes in the law. The judge considered that the deadlines only started to run from the entry into force of the new code, a position that although is not new is far away of being peaceful. The judge's decision cannot be appealed.

The mother of missing Madeleine, four, spoke to the distraught couple after her private detectives met them to probe links between the two cases.
Liverpool-born GP Kate, 39, told ex-professional footballer dad Juan Jose Cortes and his shellshocked wife Irene Suarez they were in her thoughts.
Mari Luz Cortes, five, disappeared as she went to buy crisps near her home in Huelva, south west Spain, around 5pm on Sunday.
Juan, 34, now a builder, said today: "Kate McCann has been in touch to transmit her condolences.
"She knows what we're going through and I understand them now too." A family friend added: "Knowing they have the support of Gerry and Kate has been comforting.
"They have been touched by the fact someone who is going through her own turmoil can find the strength to think of them in their moment of need." Kate's call came after husband Gerry, also 39, told of the couple's extreme concern on his blog.
The McCanns' Barcelona-based private detectives Metodo 3 have already spoken to Juan and his wife to see if the two cases may be connected.
Spanish police have said they are keeping an open mind on any connection and have sent Mari Luz's picture to Portuguese police amid fears she has been snatched by a child trafficking gang and taken across the border half an hour's drive away.
In an echo of the McCanns' concern about cross-border child smuggling and their belief Madeleine was abducted and taken to Africa via Spain, Mari Luz's dad said he feared his daughter may now be in Portugal.
He said: "The fastest escape route out of the police cordon is Portugal, which is why it can't be ruled out that she may be there."
Mari Luz's distraught grandmother, who shares the same name as the missing girl, pleaded: "Please give me back my granddaugther, she's the only one I have."
Like Madeleine's parents, Mari Luz's family are planning to set up an appeal fund to raise money for the search for their daughter.
Juan appealed for a local bank to help set up the fund so wellwishers could send in donations.
He said: "All I want is to make sure everything possible is being done to look for my daughter and all the money's that needed in the search is available."
Tenslotte lieten de McCanns de kids alleen, zo ook Mari's mum: "She then wandered off unsupervised as her mother lay on the sofa feeling unwell. Her parents called police an hour later after she failed to return." Bron Oja, een kerstvideo is ook al gemaakt: "Mari Luz’s heartbroken parents yesterday launched a Madeleine-style publicity campaign to help the search for their daughter. They released a video of Mari Luz dancing and opening her Christmas presents."

Op de een of andere manier zie ik deze kop als een behoorlijk sarcastisch statement van de Daily Star.quote:Police are to rule out any link between the Madeleine McCann case and the abduction of a five-year-old Spanish girl. The move will bring fresh heartache for Gerry and Kate McCann. Portuguese detectives do not believe the missing Brit was snatched from her family’s holiday apartment. They are convinced the four-year-old died accidentally and her parents disposed of her body.
But police in Spain do think little Mari Luz was abducted on a 200-yard walk home in Huelva last Sunday. Yesterday Mari’s distraught mum Irene, 30, thanked Madeleine’s mother Kate for an e-mailed message of support and urged her: “Don’t give up – your daughter will be found.’’ Reports in Spain said detectives were close to making a breakthrough in the case and have not found any evidence of a link to Madeleine’s disappearance.
A source close to the McCann inquiry in Portugal said: “The police have kept a watching brief on the Mari Luz case because there was a chance that her abductor might have brought her to Portugal. “But detectives do not seriously think the two cases are linked. Their colleagues in Spain appear to be making considerable progress in that investigation.
“Police here will not formally rule out the possibility Madeleine was abducted – but they don’t think it happened.’’ Madeleine vanished from her family’s holiday apartment in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, two days before her fourth birthday.
Police have accused her parents Kate and Gerry, both 39, of launching a worldwide campaign to find their daughter in a bid to dodge a manslaughter charge. The investigation source said at least one Portuguese detective would shortly be flying to Britain to sit in on fresh questioning of the friends with whom the McCanns were dining that night.
The interviews will be conducted by British officers. Then detectives will consider bringing criminal charges, the source claimed. “There is a feeling among the judiciary in Portugal that the best place to sort all this out is a courtroom,’’ he added.
quote:A sketch of a suspected abductor of Madeleine McCann has been drawn after a newspaper spoke to a tourist who reported seeing a "creepy man" by the McCanns' apartment. The News of the World claims the detailed artist's impression was generated using information from the holidaymaker, who had been staying 600 yards from the McCanns in Praia da Luz.
The associate editor of the News of the world, Gary Thompson, told Sky News: "The real significance is that the sketch has been shown to Jane Tanner, a member of the so-called Tapas Group. "You may remember she says she saw a man carrying a child.
"We understand that Jane Tanner has confirmed the likeness." Mr Thompson said he believed the Portuguese police were taking the photo-fit very seriously. "The important questions are: who is he? Whereabouts is he? We will be urging readers with information to contact the authorities as a matter of urgency," he said. Mr Thompson added that the sketch had been passed to Interpol and officers from the Leicestershire Constabulary - the McCanns' local police force.
The holidaymaker who provided the details for the sketch rang police when she saw Madeleine was missing and gave a statement. But the paper says it is only now that the importance of her sighting is being realised. The McCanns have been made aware of the sketch.

"She just cannot be sure she would recognise the man again if she saw him because she only got a fleeting glimpse of him. But what about the McCanns? Okay conspiracy theory here. This post does not reflect my opinion. It is only a "what if" scenario, I am considering.
GORDON BROWN INVOLVEMENT
Gordon Brown allegedly told the Portuguese Premiere that the McCanns were innocent, or at least he believed them to be so.
We all have heard how Brown personally intevened to have the Bundleman description released. Also of couse, one of his spin doctors is now providing spin for the McCanms.
Also it has been reported that if the McCanns were Portuguese and there wasn't all this political interference they would have been charged by now. Perhaps the McCanns would have already been arrested and charged if Brown had kept his nose out. Why are we still waiting for the next round of interviews?
Is this hold up from the top? So what's the deal? Is Gordon helping the McCanns just because he would help any other suspects in their position? I don't think so.
Is it a political game between Portugal and Britain? Or even a bargaining chip over Gibraltar negotiations. The McCann case could humiliate the Portuguese reputation for its police and its tourism. Is it a matter of personal friendships, his brother who knows people who are friends of the Mccanns? Or is there a specific reason why Brown wants to protect the McCanns? A secret we may never know about? Suppose yes to any in the above paragraph. How can the McCanns be helped out of this situation?
ACTION PLAN TO LET OFF THE MCCANNS
First delay next round of questions as this would elevate the McCanns as suspects in the public mind.
Suppose public opinion can be turned so that most people in Britain believe the McCanns are innocent, then Brown's people could get the charges dropped without an outcry. How can that be achieved? Bundleman is the key, just as Bundleman was very important to Gordon Brown's intervention before..
If Bundleman can be shown to be a real person who was also seen by other witnesses and perhaps even abducted another child (in Huelva) it would show clearly to most people that the McCanns must be innocent and there is no case therefore to make charges.
ACTION OVER PAST WEEK
All the elements have been put in place over the past week or so. Child abducted not too far from Praia da Luz.
Cooperman, the man seen by Gail Cooper is all over the front pages and TV News in a new media frenzy. Tanner confirms Cooperman and Bundleman are one and the same. Above information put out in a media blitz.
ACTION PLAN IN NEXT FEW WEEKS
Sightings of Cooperman will be reported in Huelva. This is the "proof" needed that Cooperman/Bundleman abducted Madeleine and also another child.
Therefore the British people must believe the McCanns are innocent. Flaws in Portuguese investigation now to be ripped open and exposed in the media in another frenzy.
Media to repeat that there is no case to be made against the McCanns. The British tell Portuguese they want to drop case against McCanns and the British police will not reinterview them. There is nothing Portuguese can do about it.
Arguido status dropped and McCanns told their will be no further action against them. The secret that the McCanns hold that may or may not include a government secret are never revealed.

> (JonBenét Ramsey - Wikipedia)quote:"At that stage - as Mills's draft script makes plain - his intention was to make an analytical, investigative programme that would have been very critical of the Portuguese police, not only for the errors in their investigation, but for their apparent campaign of disinformation designed to put pressure on Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann. It would also have criticised both the local and British press over allegations that they recycled unfounded rumours with little sign of fact-checking or detachment."
It would, as Mills confirmed again yesterday, have scrutinised the various allegations that have been floated against the McCanns and concluded they are baseless: 'We had an investigative team looking into the story for weeks. Our assessment was that the purported DNA evidence was weak and inconclusive, while so far as we could tell the supposedly significant "discrepancies" between the stories told by the McCanns' friends about the night of Madeleine's disappearance amount to very little indeed.'
The original film would have compared Madeleine to the JonBenet Ramsey case in Colorado, about which Mills has made three previous documentaries. After the body of JonBenet, a child beauty pageant winner aged six, was found in her parents' Boulder home, they were vilified by the police and media, despite their continued insistence that they had nothing to do with her death. They claimed she had been killed by an intruder. Mills's version of the McCann Panorama featured an interview - eventually not used - with JonBenet's father, John, in which he said that the Colorado police 'did a great job of convincing the media and the world that we were guilty, but they couldn't charge us, because of course they had no case'. Years later DNA evidence proved beyond doubt that JonBenet had been killed by an intruder. John Ramsey told Panorama: 'It's a life-time damage. No question about it.'
The five-year-old's family plan to hire Metodo 3 if police fail to come up with clues to her whereabouts by the start of next week. Mari Luz's distraught ex-footballer dad Juan Jose Cortes last night said: "Today I've felt more anger than ever. "Enough's enough. We don't want compassion, we want results."
The missing girl's uncle Diego Cortes added: "If the police have got nothing new by next Tuesday, we'll hire the private detectives." Mari Luz vanished nine days ago as she went to buy sweets from a kiosk near her home in Huelva near Spain's southern border with Portugal.
The city is just a 90 minute drive from the resort of Praia da Luz where Madeleine, four, disappeared in May. Detectives from Barcelona-based Metodo 3 contacted Mari Luz's mum Irene hours after the mystery disappearance to examine possible links between the two cases - and pass on a message of support from Kate McCann.
The McCanns have offered to put pictures of Mari Luz's face alongside Madeleine's on posters in Spain, Portugal and north Africa. Police have said they do not think there is any connection between the two - but Spanish detectives hunting the five-year-old have yet to come up with any firm leads.
They questioned a local man who disappeared shortly after Mari Luz went missing and - but released him without charge after searching his home and finding nothing. Metodo 3 has worked for the McCanns since last September on a £50,000-a-month contract - the equivalent of £2,000 per working day.
Controversial boss Francisco Marco - rapped over a series of claims he knows who took Madeleine and is pretty sure where she is - has pledged to find her before March. It is not known if the McCanns know of Mari Luz's parents' plans to hire their detective agency.
Metodo 3 is not thought to have agreed to work exclusively for the McCanns. But any acceptance of other contracts is bound to raise questions about its ability to discover the Brit youngster when it is costing the Find Madeleine Fund hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Mari Luz's parents have not revealed how they plan to pay for Metodo 3's services. But they are thought to be searching for a wealthy donor to back their idea. An appeal fund set up shortly after their daughter went missing has just £300 in it. Daily Mail

Niemand heeft de Engerd van Praia da Luz herkend/gezien, wie dat 12-jarige meisje is blijft geheim en de sketch wordt alleen gepubliceerd om de man te bevragen en eventueel daarom uit sluiten want ze hebben niet gezegd dat hij wordt verdacht van kidnapping, maar: The photo-fit is seen as "one of the most important clues that the detectives of Metodo 3 are working on," concluded the spokesman of Kate and Gerry.quote:Sketch: Dozens of witnesses claim they saw him (Correio de Manha)
The suspect is everywhere
Dozens of phone calls were received by detectives who are working for the McCanns, following the disclosure of the photo-fit of a possible suspect. "We received many calls that are not important," admitted to the CM Clarence Mitchell, spokesman of the family, "but at the same time we also received dozens of phone calls with important information," he added.
Clarence Mitchell does not specify from where the calls are made, if they are from British who were in Praia da Luz or residents in the area, but ensures that "many people saw the man on the spot." Nonetheless yesterday in Luz, nobody remembered the individual, McCann's spokesman ensured to the press that there is a girl of 12 years old who remembers the man. Clarence Mitchell, however, did not want to tell who is that mysterious witness.
The detectives of the Spanish agency Metodo 3 that are working for the McCanns are now examining all clues received by telephone. "We can not say that we will find the man but we are trying," said to the CM Clarence Mitchell. "Nor do we say that he is suspect of kidnapping but we want to know if he has anything to do with the disappearance," he added.
The photo-fit is seen as "one of the most important clues that the detectives of Metodo 3 are working on," concluded the spokesman of Kate and Gerry.
"Meanwhile, the PJ is still awaiting the response of the British authorities concerning the rogatory letters sent to England, asking for new interrogations to the group that spent holidays in Praia da Luz "Till now there is no novelty," confirmed to the CM source linked to the research.
About this issue, Clarence Mitchell assured that "officially there is no information that PJ wants to interrogate Kate or Gerry." Nevertheless, "they are willing to cooperate with the authorities in order to speed the investigation," the spokesman continued, "they want to show to the Portuguese police they have nothing to do with the disappearance of their daughter."
Clarence Mitchell admitted knowing that there is a request from the Judiciary in Eurojust (the European agency which is the connection between the departments of Justice of the European Union countries), "but I do not know whether they want to question Kate and Gerry, the group of nine friends or just some of them."

Nobody in Praia da Luz saw the alleged kidnapper of Madeleine (24horasnewspaper)
"I would never forget a face like this"
Many questions the fact that the image only appeared now. There are some that say he looks like Charles Bronson the actor
The inhabitants of Praia da Luz, Algarve, guaranteed that they never saw the man represented in the photo-fit divulged by the McCann's family as being the alleged kidnapper of Madeleine. Almost all of the persons interviewed yesterday by 24 Horas said that if they had seen him they would remember. " I would never forget a face like this", was the most repeated sentence.
Carla, 32 years old and client of the video club Eureka had already seen the photo in the newspapers. "It is strange it only appears now. So many months after people don't remember half of the faces that passed through here at the time. Nonetheless, I think that if I have seen him I would never forget", she said to 24 Horas. And she added that the photo reminded her of someone: " When I saw that photo in the newspapers it seemed to me like Charles Bronson".
Edward Price, Tuc Price's brother, friend of Robert Murat refused to be photographed seeing the image of the alleged kidnapper but he gave his opinion: "He does not seem alike with anyone I know or I have seen in the area. But 8 months after what are they expecting by showing this image. There are many questions that were not made. How, why only now? "
Kneen, British citizen, 56 years old, living in Praia da Luz for three years goes further and gives some suggestions to the authorities. "Please! If I was the kidnapper I would never walk in the street like this. I think that they should try to make different images from this one and put them side by side", he said suggesting that they should make another image without the moustache or even with shorter hair. "Does anyone believe that the man was walking in the streets like that waiting to be caught?". Haynes Hubbard, the Anglican priest friend of the McCanns did not recognize the photo: "I only arrived here two months after the disappearance of Madeleine, but after that I never came across with nobody like this man. I wish I did! I could help Gerry and Kate".
We also spoke with some employees of the Ocean Club, the resort from where Madeleine disappeared. None recognised the man. We heard the same answer in the Baptista's supermarket, the Tapas Bar and in the coffee shops near the beach where the British went during their holidays in Algarve.
In a way it is very funny, because if the forums were representative of the readership, and all polls suggest that it was, this is a classic case of corporate consumer capitalism. It is also pretty worrying in terms of debate on the internet, since it means that if a campaign wishes to stop criticism it need only send it's chimps to post defamatory stuff and we can return to the pre-internet age in which public opinion is force fed to the public by an unrepresentative group of paid lackeys: i.e journalists.Oh well, I guess nothing lasts forever. And no one with half a brain, or indeed any brain at all (let's not be fractionist) thought that Labour was committed to open government, democracy or indeed allowing criticism of their favourite child neglectors, were barking at the wrong moon. Ok folks, time to stop questioning and get on message - ready - everybody needs to start reporting all foreigners to the police, especially if they look like Kate McCann in a bad production of the Mikado.quote:"Sadly, due to persistent and serious abuses, we will no longer be hosting discussions regarding Madeleine McCann on this website. Dat is tenminste positief nieuws...toch?!quote:Revolutionary DNA technology which could catch thousands more criminals every year is finally set to be cleared for use by police. DNAboost - which allows scientists to unravel mixed and previously unusable genetic samples - was hailed for its crime-fighting potential by former Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2006.
Experts believe the powerful software will identify up to 6,000 extra suspects annually, and could also help in cases such as that of missing Madeleine McCann - where forensic evidence appears to have been difficult to analyse. However, despite impressive results from pilot schemes in Yorkshire, Humberside and Northumbria, police have been banned from using the tool for more than 12 months.
The long delay led detectives and scientists to complain that the technology was falling victim to a "turf war" over the National DNA Database. The Forensic Science Service (FSS) - which developed DNAboost - was stripped of control over the bank of 3.5 million samples in December 2005, when it was made an independent Government-backed company.
A Home Office strategy board including representatives from the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) and the Association of Police Authorities (Apa) now decides how the database can be used. A spokeswoman for the department confirmed that the strategy board had delivered its recommendation, and the matter had been passed to the Attorney General for final sign-off.
A source close to the project said DNAboost was the "most validated DNA technology in history".
They said: "This is the biggest step forward in crime-fighting science for more than a decade, and it has taken far too long to get clearance. It looks like it's finally getting authorised, but we could have caught thousands of criminals while they have gone through these hoops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------quote:Last night, sources in the Policia Judiciaria revealed reports of a dishevelled man lurking around Praia da Luz were investigated months ago and found to be groundless. One stormed: "The purpose of this latest exercise by the McCanns is the same as always. It"s another diversionary tactic."
It was reported the only other official suspect, Robert Murat, was seen chatting to a man resembling the sketch. Former PJ inspector and now criminologist Francisco Moita Flores said the timing of the McCanns releasing the image was curious, coming only days before the McCanns" dining companions are due to face further questioning. He said: "This is maybe the most critical moment in the investigation. They know there is evidence that the girl died and we are on the eve of interrogating witnesses who may undo all the theories." suspect last May.
Nanny Charlotte Pennington, 20, told the police she saw Murat, 34, talking to "a man 27 to 35, average height, very dark eyes, Portuguese or Spanish appearance". After Madeleine was snatched on May 3, the McCanns" dining companion Jane Tanner, 36, said she had seen a man walking away from the Ocean Club carrying a child. Yesterday, despite never seeing his face, Ms Tanner, from Exeter, said she was "80 per cent certain" it was the man in the drawing.
Last night, Amanda Mills, 34, from Basildon, Essex, claimed she saw a man resembling the sketch suspect trying to break into a ground-floor apartment in the Ocean Club, similar to the one the McCanns occupied, a week later. Last night the McCanns" spokesman Clarence Mitchell said the McCanns" sleuth agency"s "50,000-a-week contract is up next month but could be extended if the mystery man was still at large.
